Match preview: Hawthorn v Richmond
AFL.com.au
18 July 2016
WHERE AND WHEN:
MCG, Sunday, July 24, 3.20pm AEST
SUMMARY
Sunday will be unusual for the Hawks; successive games in Launceston, Adelaide and Sydney, plus the bye, means it will be 37 days since their last game in Victoria and 50 since they played at their home ground. They return to the MCG triumphant, a game clear on top of the ladder but the closeness of the top eight, their relatively poor percentage and the occasion of Sam Mitchell's 300th game should ensure there is no let-up. The Hawks usually eschew the tag so Dustin Martin may have another big day, and even though the Tigers have troubled Hawthorn in the past, Damien Hardwick is now blooding the kids, making it doubtful he has the depth of talent to engineer an upset.
LAST FIVE MEETINGS:
R7, 2016, Hawthorn 21.10 (136) d Richmond 13.12 (90) at the MCG
R18, 2015, Richmond 10.11 (71) d Hawthorn 7.11 (53) at the MCG
R6, 2014, Hawthorn 18.10 (118) d Richmond 7.10 (52) at the MCG
R19, 2013, Richmond 16.11 (107) d Hawthorn 9.12 (66) at the MCG
R9, 2012, Richmond 21.11 (137) d Hawthorn 10.15 (75) at the MCG
THE SIX POINTS
1. It took the Hawks three quarters to overcome their recent nemesis when they met in round seven. They needed a nine-goal final term to establish their ascendancy en route to a 46-point win.
2. The Hawks and Tigers have met 45 times at the MCG with the Hawks holding a 27-18 edge. Remarkably, they have never met in a final.
3. Hawthorn is looking to beat Richmond twice in the same season for the first time since 1992. The first of those that year was the day at Waverley when Hawks superstar Jason Dunstall kicked 17 goals.
4. The Tigers enter this match ranked 10th for contested possessions, averaging 141.6 per game. The Hawks are 13th with 136.6.
5. Hawthorn leads the AFL in goalkicking accuracy with 55.1 per cent, while the Tigers rank eighth with 51.7.
6. Hawk magician Cyril Rioli has cracked the top 10 in the Schick AFL Player Ratings with 542.1 points. Dustin Martin is in 32nd with 471 points.
IT'S A BIG WEEK FOR …
Bradley Hill.
The Hawthorn speedster snapped out of his season-long stuff with a great game against the Swans and he now returns to the MCG, which is tailor-made for his sweeping, gut-running up and down the wings.
PREDICTION: Hawthorn by 16 points

Prediction:- Hawthorn by 16 goals
-
16 points :lol
-
Clarkson post game... it was good to get the percentage boost as ours was lagging behind the others in the 8. We focused on percentage during the week and had repeat drills for the players celebrating after kicking goals.
-
If our half forwards play as poorly as last week god help us it will be about 15 goals. The Hawks rebound very well. To be any chance in this game we have to win contested ball accross tmour half forward line. Really we cannot afford to play young Rioli or Menedue this week. If we do and they fail to compete again it will be ugly for us... It's looks good when they win the outside easy ball but they just don't win any contested ball yet. It was very obvious last week!

I disagree. Rioli was fantastic with his pressure acts which led to at least 3 of our goals. The hawks love long bombs to talls in the forward line. They lack speed down back. I would bring in Butler and put him forward with Rioli and even Markov and George. Run them off their (old) legs I say....
-
This match. Lol.
-
keep the kids in, Hawks are the best in the business so why not let them have a crack & see how they all go, they may not get up but they could learn a lot from the game this week.
-
Reckon it will be lot closer than people think
For reasons I cannot explain we always play well against the Hawks. Don't expect this to be any different
And all the kids should play, we learn alot about them this week ;D

I still don't understand why Dan Butler deserves a game in the seniors. He should earn it like the other young fellas who are currently in the senior team.

Comments from his last game from the coach - "played at a level above".
Add to the point that some players play better with better players around them and that playing your youngsters often gives you a glimpse of the talent you have in waiting, and you have your answer. Or would you continue to play Edwards, who after 10 years, is still inconsistent?
-
Opposition milestone alert: Sam Mitchell will be playing his 300th.

Agree. A game such as this will provide good experience for the younger players.

Tigers up for Hawks challenge: Cotchin
AFL.com.au
22 July 2016
WHILE finals might be a stretch, knocking off flag favourites Hawthorn on Sunday would still be a feather in Richmond's cap.
Tigers skipper Trent Cotchin said his team felt they could challenge the defending champions and ladder leaders when they met on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.
History backs his claims, with the Tigers winning three of their past five head-to-head clashes with the Hawks. In round seven, Hawthorn only put Richmond to the sword in the final term of a 46-point win.
"We get excited about the challenge of beating the greatest team in a number of years who are obviously in fantastic form and on top of the ladder," said Cotchin after teaching Juventus stars Paulo Dybala and Hernanes, in Melbourne for the International Champions Cup, a few tricks with the Sherrin.
"We've obviously had a disappointing year in comparison to what we wanted to achieve out of the year, so it's an opportunity for us to set a standard and compete against the best."
Richmond goes into the match in 13th position on the ladder after overcoming a dogged Essendon last round, with finals only a mathematical possibility.
"It's obviously a real challenge to get there, but the reality is we need to be in control of what we can and that's our performances," Cotchin said.
He said the team had been given a buzz from contributions by some of the younger players.
"No doubt, it's exciting; the speed that the majority of the guys we've brought in have shown, the composure, they've won the footy and it's great for our club."

Clarkson wary of improved Tiger challenge
AFL.com.au
24 July 2016
A VASTLY different Richmond line-up awaits Hawthorn on Sunday compared to the team the Hawks played in round seven, and Alastair Clarkson is wary of the challenge.
The Hawks finished 46-point winners on that Friday night to leave the Tigers with a 1-6 record.
However the Tigers' backline will be seriously boosted this time, with Alex Rance, David Astbury and Dylan Grimes all absent in that clash.
"Richmond's whole defence is different to the round seven game. There's fair difference in personnel," Clarkson said at training on Saturday.
"At that point in time, Richmond was in a little bit of a trough. Over the last nine weeks, they've won six and lost three.
"Everyone thinks Richmond's not going so well, but their last eight or nine weeks have been pretty good in terms of win-loss."
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-07-23/clarkson-wary-of-improved-tiger-challenge
-
Tipping Tiges in an upset, with a good turn of toe and a display of tackling like we had with the doggies. I will gladly eat my words later on or accept plaudits as the oracle if we win it is all one and the same to me.
-
NO LATE CHANGES
FINAL INTERCHANGES
Hawthorn: Taylor Duryea, Brendan Whitecross, Jonathan O'Rourke, James Sicily
Richmond: Shaun Grigg, Oleg Markov, Liam McBean, Nathan Drummond

-
WTF Conca, weak as pi ss :banghead
Lol
The iceberg, cometh
-
Good one Jack
-
Lol.
He's in defence Lolol
-
LMAO Grigg.
Brushed off the ball like a girl
-
This is the reason l don't waste my money going to the games.
Richmond put themselves under pressure running back into danger & overuse of the ball.
They are dumb :banghead
-
Lol.
He's in defence Lolol
Yeah....unreal.
-
GET OFF CONCA YOU EFFING GUTLESS WONDER :banghead
-
Lucky the Hawks missed their set shots.
Lethal is right. We are too concerned trying to get the perfect inside 50 that we handball sideways and backwards forward of centre and allow the opposition to flood back.
It should have a throw against Mitchell 20m out from our goal.
We finally score with a rushed point. 1 - 9.
-
Players always 5 - 10 metres off their opponent pathetic :banghead
-
McBean is Vickery mk 2
-
Hawks have so. Inch space.
No way is this mob playing for the coach.
-
Turnover by Hawthorn. Titch finds Drummond. Misses.
Our goalkicking as terrible as ever again.
2 - 9
-
Lloyd free in the pocket. And he misses as well.
3 - 9
-
Richmond players not going in hard they are pee weak
-
Is hawthorn the only team that does not have to handball?
-
Its like a paddock out there...
-
l just don't understand this way they play off the opponent & as soon as the ball spills. They are chasing & using energy
-
Miles shepherded out on the wing. Hunt finds Jack. Another miss :scream.
4 - 9
-
Something seriously wrong at punt rd.
Leadership for one.
-
A player who was there for the crumbs. Well done Drummond ;D
-
Drummond- nice moment.
-
Drummond front and square :clapping. First goal in AFL footy :gotigers.
Then we get a point.
Rich 11
Haw 10
Blow the siren ;D
-
My boy :clapping
-
How what is incorrect disposal? That's three throws missed!
-
Jack should had a free kick there
-
I like hampsons dropped chest mark under minimal pressure. Highlight real stuff
-
How what is incorrect disposal? That's three throws missed!
They are Hawthorn. Umpires #1 pets
-
stuffing Hampson :lol. I'm sure O,rourke loved the tap directly to him in their F50 too
-
Free to Cotch 20m out. Goal :gotigers
Rich 17
Haw 10
-
See you Astbury. Get the hell out
-
Astbury saga continues is that guy for real :banghead
-
What the hell was that Astbury? :help. We love gifting goals and momentum back to the oppositionn :banghead.
-
Rance FFS what was that..
-
We just throw scores away so easy
-
We are poomen
-
Geez we are a dumb footy team.
Quarter time
Richmond 2.5-17
Hawthorn 2.5-17
Goals: Drummond, Cotchin.
-
Wow so many easy goals missed. Bad umpiring, Brain dead player mistakes. Game plan l don't understand. Our tall forwards down the backline ?? or is Hampson resting forward
-
Good return for Drummond. Pitty Commetti keeps calling Hunt, Drummond and McBean, Griffiths...
-
& worst of all l been to the fridge 4 times already that 1/4 cause they stress me out l drink faster ;D
-
Good return for Drummond. Pitty Commetti keeps calling Hunt, Drummond and McBean, Griffiths...
;D That is why its his last year :lol
-
Nice kick Griff
-
Drummond again showing he does the basics well. First time this year I've seen a quick kick out of the middle land in a Tiger half-forward's arms who was playing in front.
Another terrible set shot miss (this time by Griffs) :scream.
-
Why dont they pay drop and the ball anymore..............wait, they pay them against us :banghead
-
This is where l say in the other thread about players who are untried in the VFL who have the ability to play at the top level but struggle in a lower AFL level. The game is so much faster that they think & play better when given the game time.
Drummond is one of them players
-
Astbury so dumb...
-
Put on the Benny Hill music in defence! :facepalm.
RUSH THE BLOODY POINT WHEN UNDER PRESSURE, YOU IDIOTS!
-
Teams must love playing us. All there coach has to say is just play your position & the Richmond player won't come within 5 - 10 metres of you. So much time to receive the ball :banghead
-
Cant figure whether Astbury is mentalltly or physically slower
-
Kick the bloody thing LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG for Geez sake 8 possies & back to where they started
-
Beliis is braindead :banghead
-
Astbury best for Dawks at present by a mile
-
What a squib!L!
-
Drummond just did a Bellis and pulled out
Sigh
We have another
-
We were out on the wing but Astbury took too long to spot Drummond and then the kick was a high floater which allowed the hawk defender to get to it.
-
Here we go....all the faffing around we do, they get a goal, get ready for the flood gates..
-
Bellis can't even judge the ball in the air to help Rance. If that shot was on goal it would have went through.
Its going through cause Vlaustin is just as bad seriously
-
Does anyone here, watch and NOT laugh ? :snidegrin
-
crappy flooding we deserve to lose.
-
Blame Astbury for Drummonds squib cause that was a hospital kick
-
Another set shot miss (Beany).
18 - 27
-
Blame Astbury for Drummonds squib cause that was a hospital kick
Astbury doesnt chase. A bit like Vickery
-
Ellis is pathetic.
Worst 22 player we have
-
Once again our need to handball, handball and handball instead of long kicking causes a turnover.
-
Apparently there is a player on the ground called "Edwards", can anyone confirm please?
-
Hampson & Griffiths both flying for the ball & no-one around the tallest men to scab the ball WTF are they teaching down at Punt road
-
I like Concas game........ :lol
-
Good pressure Rioli. You deserved that goal.
Rich 24
Haw 28
-
Apparently there is a player on the ground called "Edwards", can anyone confirm please?
There he is patting Rioli up. As l stated early last week his career is finshed
-
Ellis has been infuriating, Arseberry has some clever intercepts but backs them up with absolute clangers and dithers with the ball when he doesn't have time
-
So Mitchell gets a free but we don't for the same thing :banghead
-
Apparently there is a player on the ground called "Edwards", can anyone confirm please?
There he is patting Rioli up. As l stated early last week his career is finshed
And getting rag dolled again.. :lol
-
Nice tap by Hampson. Titch kick the ball in the air next time.
25 - 28
-
Nice tap by Hampson. Titch kick the ball in the air next time.
25 - 28
About the only thing Hampson has done.....oh wait, hes also had 2 possessions
-
Hawks are waiting for us to go sideways we are so predicable & its costing always
-
Griff :banghead
-
Another gift to the opposition :facepalm.
Just kick the ball Griffs. You can kick it 60m easily.
-
Nice Griff.
-
instant handball run back into danger :rollin :rollin :rollin
-
We are the only team in the league that plays on all the time or we prop & wait to have a kick instead of kicking it long quickly to catch the other side pushed up :lol
Handball to Miles was classic :clapping :banghead
-
Brandon :facepalm.
-
Ellis is just amazingly terrible
-
We are the only team in the league that plays on all the time or we prop & wait to have a kick instead of kicking it long quickly to catch the other side pushed up :lol
Handball to Miles was classic :clapping :banghead
We are pointless handball mad :banghead.
-
If anyone after today thinks Astbury is anymore than a VFL player even that. You need to think what are you really watching & know about football :lol
-
Even then he took the mark on the siren & he was looking around to give it off :scream :scream
-
17 inside 50s for a half is pathetic. We should be 5 goals down.
-
Half-time
Richmond 3.7-25
Hawthorn 4.11-35
Goals: Drummond, Cotchin, Rioli.
Only 17 inside 50s and 3 goals for a half :facepalm.
-
Dimma Chocco & all those assistant coaches need to be sacked tomorrow & be replaced by Gary Ayres. He alone will get them players playing BASIC football :snidegrin
-
Whoreforn working on a new skill - throwball! How many two handed throws? :thumbsdown
-
Whoreforn working on a new skill - throwball! How many two handed throws? :thumbsdown
Yep
-
Some of the teams we have played know they won't get pinged for it against us, Dogs were slinging passes like the Melbourne Storm as well and it was all kosher apparently.
-
Poor game of footy by both teams. Have the courage to take the game on and we could win. Play like the first half and we most likely lose.
-
Disagree that it's a poor game
Sitting at Ponsford end and the game is being played in a " bubble "
Plenty of numbers back
Need to get first goal after half time and stick to game plan
-
10 Hawks with double-digit possessions; Just 5 Tigers.
3 Hawks with 5 possessions or less; 11 Tigers.
Too many passengers.
Dusty has 21 by the way.
Miles 14
Hunt 12
Grigg 12
Cotch 10
We've had 50 less possies and our ratio is just over even (87 kicks, 73 hballs = 1.2:1). Hawks have 135 kicks, 79 hballs = 1.7:1
http://www.afl.com.au/match-centre/2016/18/haw-v-rich
-
And that first bounce sums us up. We had 5 possies, all handballs under pressure, cough it up and then the opposition have one long kick forward.
-
Disagree that it's a poor game
Sitting at Ponsford end and the game is being played in a " bubble "
Plenty of numbers back

Sorry Jack. It's terrible. We don't have a clue out there.
-
:banghead
-
Admittedly it was off a turnover but amazing what a long quick kick inside 50 does ::).
Griffs misses though :scream.
26 - 42
-
Well done Floss.
-
LOL how was that not free to LLoyd for high?
We get it back and Drummond finds Beany. Now can we finally kick straight? Nope! :banghead
Amateur hour :banghead
27 - 42
-
:facepalm.
Another slow high helicopter kick is turned over :banghead.
Thankfully, Hawthorn are off today. We get it back and Jack finds Grigg. Doesn't make the distance and rushed.
28 - 42
-
Should have been a free to us in front of the sticks against Burgoyne.
-
Have l missed anything. Had to prepare the roast have Dimma coming over tonight to talk about the game plan & Houli coming back :snidegrin
-
What a goalkicking display today by both sides :lol.
-
Astbury :banghead
-
Jack
Kick the goal mate, take the responsibility. Is embarrassing when he gives it off and the dippoo can't even make the distNce
-
Have l missed anything. Had to prepare the roast have Dimma coming over tonight to talk about the game plan & Houli coming back :snidegrin
You only missed more dumbness, poor skills, decision making and shocking goalkicking :snidegrin
-
See that they are tanking now. Got clear then went the lobb kick back into danger then Miles handballs it to the ground & its all turned over hahaha :snidegrin
-
Great high sideways kick to a Hawthorn player, Brandon.
-
Horrible horrible horrible. So many basic errors, what do they do at training
-
See that they are tanking now. Got clear then went the lobb kick back into danger then Miles handballs it to the ground & its all turned over hahaha :snidegrin
We don't tank. This is just our usual selves :P.
-
B.Ellis taking the pee surely
-
We have the wind in the last term but Dawks will kick 7 goals against us to our 1. Watch it unfold
-
Horrible horrible horrible. So many basic errors, what do they do at training
Pokemon.
-
Yep, just hit Jack in the face. No free when it's Jack ::).
-
Grimes handballs to a player under pressure just sums up a ugly club that needs a huge coaching cleanout
-
What the hell is Griffs doing in defence? He has no idea back there.
-
B.Griffiths taking the pee surely
FFS
-
Rance kick it to Bellis who has 2 giant forwards to stop him hahahaah l'm about to turn the channel as that cost us another goal
GWS 2 Port 14 ;D
-
Tell you what pressure does, it exposes players, griff and astbury have shown when the heat is on they crumble with execution and decision making. Some absolute shockers from both of them
-
Ellis really is a liability, you can just about guarantee that he will stuff anything up.
-
griffiths.................hahahahahahahaha what a absolute spuddddddddddd
-
Game over!
Don't expect supporters to turn up to watch 3 goals in 3/4ers of footy while playing this happy sideways backwards handball crap!
-
So brainwashed into over possessing and doing the switch that we do it even when out nimbered. The gameplan is so rubbish and because we have no plan b the opposition know what we are going to do before we do.
-
Dimma's Halftime talk would have been now just go out there & get smashed in the 3rd term & continue to be yourselves.
-
Need a mercy rule. LOL at kicking just one goal in a half of football :banghead.
3/4 time
Richmond 2.5 3.7 3.11-29
Hawthorn 2.5 4.11 7.15-57
Goals: Drummond, Cotchin, Rioli.
-
Ellis really is a liability, you can just about guarantee that he will stuff anything up.
That's our Bellis :snidegrin
-
Dimma's Halftime talk would have been now just go out there & get smashed in the 3rd term & continue to be yourselves.
Wasn't it you that said Dumma was a good coach?
-
So brainwashed into over possessing and doing the switch that we do it even when out nimbered. The gameplan is so rubbish and because we have no plan b the opposition know what we are going to do before we do.

Get rid of both of them.
Ellis too.
-
basically we have flooded all day to prevent a shellacking, see how it goes in the fourth. Exhaustion starting to tell, all our cunning sideways kicking and flooding has cleverly tired us out
-
26 inside 50s in 3/4ers of footy :P.
-
If Hardwick is any sort of coach he should simply say play on at every opportunity. This stop start footy is just a waste of time and simply horrible to watch.
-
Grimes is playing one of the worst games i have ever seen :gobdrop by anyone :help
-
Why wouldn't you tag Mitchell. It's mindboggling :banghead
-
3 Tigers waited for the other to go win ball and it ends up with a set shot to Hawthorn :facepalm.
-
Why wouldn't you tag Mitchell. It's mindboggling :banghead
The coach never tags and never will.
-
Dimma's Halftime talk would have been now just go out there & get smashed in the 3rd term & continue to be yourselves.
Wasn't it you that said Dumma was a good coach?
l cast lots of things out :snidegrin
l have always wanted Gary Ayres to coach the club. He brings out the best in youngsters & understands the game completely.
Everyone say malthouse it a great coach but anyone who coaches boundary line football is a idiot & Dumma coaches it the same but likes to go right into the pocket so players can have trick shots.
RFC have been going backwards for a few seasons now with appointments of assistants that have less qualifications to coach than myself ;D sums it up don't it
-
LMFAO at Edwards going through the motions.. :help
-
Players too concerned about the man when the football is priority & that summed it right up
-
They all just stuffing stood there and watched it go through. Get your love grease out folks, this is gonna hurt
-
:facepalm.
3 Tiger defenders allowing a high ball bounce in the square through for a goal :scream
-
Disagree that it's a poor game

Someone down at Tigerland forgot to tell the rovers its their job to get the ball off the ground & yet they stood back watching Hampson bending down trying to touch the ground

Dusty made that. Nice mark Jack.
Yeah, we've actually kicked a goal!

Vlastuins career being ruined

Get rid of he rest
Most frustrating is how the coach, during his tenure, never admits he's got it wrong.
So wrong.

And THAT is why Vlastuin is another pooman, just like Conca and Ellis
He does that a lot - drop marks he should clunk. I can see the potential he has but he is grossly overrated on his site
-
here it comes lol
-
Vlastuins career being ruined
Ruined.
TRADE FOR SURE
-
Floodgates....

Defenders ballwatching again.

Popcorn time.

Defenders ballwatching again.
Conca leading the way
-
So simple for Hawks, out to the wing and then to the hotspot at the top of the square, same situation we go to pocket everytime
-
Short playing in the backline is a joke. When watching the replay he is a passenger watching closely all game
-
Vlastuins career being ruined
Yep, another one left in the backline to deteriorate... :help
-
Lloyd to Jack (free). Offline badly and doesn't make the distance. Rushed through.
38 - 77
-
here it comes lol
I dont know if i can hold my temper much longer.
Absolutely effing FURIOUS with the lack of effort
-
Defenders ballwatching again.
True several of them. Why l think they are playing for draft picks. The draft has to change
-
Can someone remind our players that if you're going to go backwards with a handball like we always do, it pays to then put on a shepherd on the opposition player that closes down the receiver in 1 second.
-
Grimes hasn't played this quarter. Injured again?

Yep.
-
l wrote the script for this quarter earlier. Don't see Dawks kicks being held up in the wind ;D
-
Defenders ballwatching again.
True several of them. Why l think they are playing for draft picks. The draft has to change
As Lethal said that's fine as long as you draft well. There's no confidence in our recruiting though. We haven't gained an A-grader since Dusty in the 2009 draft 7 years ago.
-
Thats how to do it Tiges, learn from the best, its called linking up through the central corridor, makes life a lot easier instead of 500 possessions to get it inside 50.
-
Can someone remind our players that if you're going to go backwards with a handball like we always do, it pays to then put on a shepherd on the opposition player that takes about 1 second to close the gap and put the next player under the pump. Instead of a quick kick fwd, we go backwards 30-40 metres with each handball a send up kicking it under pressure anyway, except we've lost ground in the
Process for nothing
I'd doubt our players know what a shepherd is. Same goes for most of the basics of the game like playing front and square to a pack situation or rushing through a point under pressure.

We know that, maybe the BB don't agree. It's the same story with the trade period and free agency, we don't get any decent players with the war chest and our big fish aggressiveness....
-
How is Cyril allowed on his own to be roaming inside forward 30 directly in front of goal?
How does this even happen? Mindboggling stuff!
-

Watch Dusty walk out the door he will leave this club for the money
-
Trade Jack, Cotch and Vlaus, using other duds as package numbers.

He'd have my blessing.
-
a few novelty goals to cap out the game and cheer up the punters lol
-
Junk time goal to Jack.
44 - 95
-
final 8 is sealed so winning is not on the agenda
-
This is an absolute disgrace
-
Hunt been second best. Says a bit
-
Another goal to Hawthorn off our possession.
And make that another. Kicking into the back off your teammate which deflects to the opposition :facepalm.
-
:lol :lol....As expected really.
-
Training drill for Hawthorn.
Mcbean now in defence lol.
-
That will be goal #9 & they should have had more. This is Pathetic
-
Mcbean now in defence lol.
Claw will be happy
-
7 goals to Hawthorn in the last quarter from our turnovers.
Final Score
Richmond 2.5 3.7 3.11 5.14-44
Hawthorn 2.5 4.11 7.15 16.18-114
Goals: Riewoldt 2, Drummond, Cotchin, Rioli.

Hardwick masterstroke.
-
Dusty shook Mitchell hand turned head. Thats the type of stuff l like to see after a lose. Our captain was smiling & patted him on the back. Pathetic to say the least this club is ruined for another 10 years. l'm running out of time :banghead
-
final 8 is sealed so winning is not on the agenda
It's the little things that count like making sure your structures are fool proof, trying a player like the sissy Ellis as a tagger getting him to stop Mitchel getting the ball, not letting a punce like Sicily kick a goal etc.
It's like they wanted Mitchell to have a great game. Just leave him do whatever he likes! Dumma and his cronies have seriously lost this team. They don't have a clue what the hell they're doing.

I think you mean Astbury

Grimes hasn't played this quarter. Injured again?
Thank god.........don't really rate him that much at all.

I doubt we will ever see a 300 game player chaired off like Mitchell was, they will all leave well before that.
-
For stuffs sake won't somebody stuffing do something ?!?!?
This is rubbish.
The crap they dish out every week and we all cop it up the arse and nobody does a stuffing thing.
-

Kept Rioli goal-less for the 3 qtrs he was on him. Not a bad effort given Hawthorn dominated the last 3 quarters.

Honestly i would have Conca playing over Grimes to answer the question however they play different roles within the team. Grimes gives away silly free kicks and constantly puts team mates under pressure for no reason at all. He is not alone but he also goes against coaches instructions so he is mentally weak and can't adhere to the game plan. Average player at best in my book.

Too be expected against a team that will win the premiership again
Would have been happy if it was 4 quarter effort
Ps: would mc bean have currently,?
-
In a nutshell our gameplan stifles any existence of a players individuality, like watching a team of robots where their circuit boards are corrupted. Running around in different directions with NFI what to do.
Let them play their own game for Gods sake, let then take risks, go through the central corridor, let them play on, let them have a dig from 50 metres. We have nothing to lose given we have missed finals and probably won't win another game this season anyway.

Knowing WP, I'd say McBean was another but I think he already put a line through him after the NAB Challenge games that he didn't play in....
