-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Richmond has named talented, young, defender/midfielder, Nathan Drummond, in its 25-player squad for Sunday’s clash with Hawthorn at the MCG.
Drummond, 21, hasn’t played at AFL level since making his senior debut with the Tigers in Round 4 of the 2015 season against Melbourne.
Unfortunately, he ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the second quarter of that match and was sidelined up until a few weeks ago, when he returned to the playing field with Richmond’s VFL side.
“He’s one of these players underneath the iceberg that we talk about,” said Richmond coach Damien Hardwick.
“It’s not guaranteed he’s playing at the moment . . . but his form at VFL level has been good and his training form’s been outstanding.
“He’s an incredible athlete . . . We’re looking forward to seeing what he can do at some stage.”
Another promising, young Tiger also is in line for a senior return, with Ben Lennon being selected in the Round 18 squad.
Lennon, 21, played two games early this season (Round 3 v Adelaide and Round 4 v West Coast), before suffering a couple of bouts of concussion and then sustaining a shoulder injury.
Richmond also has added versatile midfielders Reece Conca and Kane Lambert to its squad for the match against the triple reigning premier.
The only out at this stage is the Tigers’ vice-captain Brett Deledio, who has a calf injury.

I'm a little surprised Ty hasn't been reinstated :snidegrin

Hope Lennon and Drummond come in and Hunt is given a break.

You're are way off the mark, Hunt is a gun and will go on to play 200 top notch games for the Tigers

Good point.

Surprised to see Menadue get dropped but also chuffed to see Drummond get a game! I guess we can't play both in the same side (similar player type) so why not change one for the other at this stage. Confused by the inclusion of Conca, but if there's a specific plan or particular match up for him then fair enough, but he should consider himself as playing for his football life! Its put up or shut up time, Reece ... Taking out Hodge, Mitchell & Lewis with some big crashing tackles would be seen as a community service! :cheers

I wanted Lennon...... :banghead
Yep
-
I wanted Lennon...... :banghead
Now why would Halfstep replace Deledio with the most similar player on the list when he can play a fat, undisciplined turnover merchant instead?
-
Hate bagging coaches, it achieves little if anything but Lennon :banghead
-
Lennon should have been brought in.
-
Lennon should be in.
-
Has everyone forgotten Lennon??
-
Imagine if we had Lennon!
-
I reckon Lennon deserved to play
-
According to the last VFL report ....Lennon was quite good while Drummond played below his normal standard.
Go figure :huh
-
Whos Lennon?
-
Whos Lennon?
Could play a bit in his time.....
But preferred him as a singer songwriter....
-
Surely Lennon has peeed someone off
-
We spend @ pick 8 on lennon, and dont play him. For mine he seems ok, just play him Dimmer, he should be way in front of Conca the underachiever
-
Surely Lennon has peeed someone off
Yoko and Mark Chapman.

Good ins :clapping
