Leave as is. Marcon is finding his feet, Moore was good and will get better. That side last night looked the most solid, gutsy and determined I have seen since last year. The players themselves even looked the size AFL players should be, those sorts of players can take the hard knocks and keep going, as they did.

Griff needs to lift again though.

He did

but is it just me or does he look extremely slow - I have no idea if he is but there were times he looked like he had cement in his boots

Moore was ok by his standards but the likes of him,  Marcon, Lambert & Townsend aren't the future.....Lennon, Butler Castagna & Menadue should be playing these games.

Griffiths & Vickery were both shyte again too and hopefully won't be here next year...Hamspud's just a waste of space.....Elton & McBean should be playing and Chol & C.Moore should be upgraded so they can play too - pretty sure we have the room now with Chaplin & McKenzie retired and Batchelor gone for  the year...

This is exactly what Dimma should be doing but saving his own skin is more important at this stage. :whistle

Would love to know how many of those 20 possessions went either directly to the opposition or less than 10 metres  :huh3

100% correct- good post

We need to play Elton next week. He is contracted for next year so we may as well see what he can offer. But most importantly- play him as a forward and get the ball in quickly.

And led the team in tackles.

And in fumbles. Him being 20m in the clear and fumbling for 10 minutes to cause the turnover was stuffing hilarious

On another note, how can anyone dismiss playing Lennon but advocate for Marcon, Grigg, Griff, Vickery and Hunt to play is beyond me.

If Lennon is ready body and fitness wise play him. I have always been an advocate for Lennon but I don't want to see him in if it's going to be detrimental to himself and next year.

Grigg gets the soft mark on a hbf then kicks backwards 20 meters - to the guy originally could I kicked backwards to.

20secs goes past the opposition zone/press shuffles sideways two yards.

Stuff me dead bring in someone that wants to go forwards with the ball

Contracted so will need to be traded. Has been concussed, had glandular, did a shoulder and an ankle. Awful luck with injury. Hopefully we can keep him as he is a talented youngster.

The Barometer - Round 21
Herald-Sun
8 August 2016

RICHMOND

ON THE BLOCK: A precious 15-point win over Collingwood gives Richmond immunity from the scrutiny which enveloped it last week, but coach Damien Hardwick will continue to sift through his list in preparation for 2017. David Astbury’s pre-match hamstring concerns were wiped out with another impressive performance in defence, while Ty Vickery managed two goals despite wrist soreness.

ON THE CUSP: Hardwick has some selection options with Brett Deledio pushing for a return against the Cats and another impressive VFL victory. Liam McBean booted four goals while Kane Lambert and Ben Lennon (three goals each) were dominant. Tall defenders Nathan Broad and Todd Elton were also named in the best.

LEO SCHLINK’S FORECAST: Relief and elation flowed through the Tiger rooms on Friday night as success over the Magpies delivered vital breathing space for the embattled club. Hardwick and the Richmond board can expect a relatively calm week, but there’s still a tricky string of matches to complete a disappointing season. The Tigers face Geelong — a side Hardwick has never beaten as coach — and St Kilda at the MCG before ending the season against Sydney at the SCG. If any of those contests deliver heavy defeats, expect the muttering to return.

I would like to see for the last 3 games.
Results mean nothing.

In-Elton, Broad, George, Menadue, Lennon

Out- Grigg, Ellis, Hunt, Houli, Astbury

All 5 of the above shouldn't be on our list in 2017 IMO.

Go all out kids, looking to the future.

Let's see what these kids can do together.

That would get some people through the gates and hopefully back on board the Tiger train for next year.

RICHMOND

It's been 10 years since Richmond beat Geelong, meaning it has never happened under Damien Hardwick's tenure. That's a serious carrot for the Tigers, but development and the blooding of young players will still take priority.

Ben Lennon looks set to return after arguably his best VFL game this season, racking up 23 possessions, 12 marks and three goals.

Kane Lambert (37 possessions) also demanded a recall after one match in then VFL.

Tall forward Liam McBean booted four goals, which might be enough to give him another shot to prove his credentials at the top level.

Highly rated midfielder Corey Ellis returned from a six-week groin injury in the VFL but will likely need more time before his AFL return.

Reece Conca (hamstring) and Shane Edwards (calf) will need to pass fitness tests this week to be available.
