Cue the meltdown.

Astute signings
-
Love both of the signings.
Lloyd is the genuine small forward with 31 goals this year to date.
And hampson has dominated the ruck this year. Will be A A next year second to Gawn.
-
A bit disappointed we didn't sign Hammer on a 5 year deal.

I'm sorry, but this is a stuffing joke. How can the board allow Hampson's contract to be extended by 2 years when there's a damn review going on? Or is this review just a waste of time.
Retards, the lot of 'em
-
They probably had no choice with ham spud as our ruck stocks are bare. Says Maric is gone at year end and Chol ain't ready and Soldo won't ever be ready is my guess.

A decision of little choice in regards to Hampson, no doubt Maric will retire and beyond that we only have project players in reserve.
Lloyd hasnt done too much wrong so deserves another couple of seasons. Is a regular contributor and seems a very driven type character who will do what it takes to become a better player.

I think we were all aware we will need him next year but why not just end it there? He only needed a one year contract. Good ol' payscale Dan. Won't offer big money to the right people but willing to fluff it on good blokes ::)
-
Lloyd deserves to be signed up. He has shown improvement this year and is a proven goal kicker. He shown a bit of class around the goals.
-
Will not make finals next two years with Hampson in the ruck.

Here's a question. If we didn't sign Hampson who is our ruck ? We rely on getting a competitive ruck over the off season ? Good signin imo. Should be looking for someone better but he is a good back up
-
Hammer's signing represents everything this club has done wrong for 30+ years.
One year deal, fine. Gives a chance to bring in another ruckman. Two years is a joke. It really is.
I admit he's been solid this year but he's been on a list for 10 years and had 2 OK one's??
I dunno, maybe they don't see a trade for one this year?? Who know's but year to year for Hammer would have been the way to go IMO.

This. Club is in danger of making a bad season even worse.
-
Lloyd sure.
Hampson just shows how moronic and in denial these so called club leaders are.
2 years. Lol.
I love NOT supporting these losers.
-
To give Hammer two more years is an endorsement by the club that he will be the number one ruck.
Somehow I don't expect the tiger faithful to be happy with this decision.
-
Don't have to worry about finding a ruck now.
-
Locked & loaded
-
One less thing Blair has to think about
-
Congrats to both players
Deserved the contracts offered
Well done Hammer and Sam I say
🔨⏱ and 👌
-
Congratulations to all opposition coaches who will now be able to select an extra mid against us for the next two years..... :clapping
Review? What review? :whistle
-
Why are we the only club that has to play a man down every week for the next two years
-
The smart play would have been a 1 year contract for Hampson.
Absolutely no need for 2 years.
Was he going somewhere??
Sound familiar??

Rival clubs were circling. Balwyn offered him big money, for example.

So why two years with both. Both are battlers and i reckon a smart recruiter would be able to replace both fairly cheaply.
1 year for both, as others have said the other options are non existent and both would be decent depth if we managed to cover the areas in trades or even nd.
Last time i looked depth players get one yr deals and they play out of their skins to get a gig.

I'll bite, would a two-year contract mean we pay a little less than a one year, or give us an option to backload or front load and free up space when desired? If we both deem them needed (which I have begrudgingly agree with) then perhaps a two year contract is the smarter overall option.
-
I hope that the two years will allow them to trade after one. You don't have negotiating power if they are out of contract ... :pray

It is exactly this sort of view that has allowed the RFC to accept mediocrity for the last 30 years
There are options, plenty of them, what do we have to lose by playing them, lose approx 4 possessions per game, minimal hit outs to adv.
For gods sake man, wake up and smell the roses and be brave to say there are other options

I've played with better ruckman than Hampson at Balwyn.

Yes it's all part of our cunning plan to get back into the 5th round of next year's draft after we trade it for Tendai Mzungu.....playing the long game is ol' Danny Boy.... :shh

Will not make finals next two years with Hampson in the ruck.

Only possible positive out of the extension.

Great to have Lloyd sign up.
Hampson needs to be retained and revert back to his VFL/backup role IMO.
