Hi Guys
First time poster, long time lurker.
Pretty excited by the possibility of trouncing the swans on their home deck, send the boys off on a big win and setup our 2017 season.
Gonna be awesome, anyone else flying up??
-
Lol
-
This game will be treated like a junket.
Do something with your wife and kids instead.
-
If dimmer likes to start press conferences the way he finished them the week before
then we are in for more levity from a man who has etched his losing way upon the RFC.

Oh I take it you aren't a fan of Dimmer Ox?

Match preview: Sydney Swans v Richmond
AFL.com.au
23 August 2016
SUMMARY
The minor premiership is the Swans' to lose and while they might look like a lock in this week's clash with the Tigers on form, they've lost their past three games against Richmond, including the last two in Sydney. Tigers star Jack Riewoldt has kicked 11 goals in those three wins, and booted six in last year's upset win at the SCG in round 13, but faces a much tougher task this week against a Swans' defence that is statistically the best in the competition. Dustin Martin and skipper Trent Cotchin have the quality to match the Swans through the midfield, but the visitors' depth looks to be a worry in their final game of the season. Star defender Alex Rance should have the job on Lance Franklin, if the gun forward is fit to play after struggling with a hip issue against North Melbourne.
WHERE AND WHEN: SCG, Saturday, August 27, 4.35pm AEST
LAST FIVE MEETINGS
R8, 2016, Richmond 14.17 (101) d Sydney Swans 15.10 (100) at the MCG
R13, 2015, Richmond 14.11 (95) d Sydney Swans 11.11 (77) at the SCG
R23, 2014, Richmond 10.8 (68) d Sydney Swans 9.11 (65) at ANZ Stadium
R14, 2014, Sydney Swans 9.8 (62) d Richmond 7.9 (51) at the MCG
R18, 2013, Sydney Swans 16.14 (110) d Richmond 9.9 (63) at the SCG
THE SIX POINTS
1. The Swans will be aiming for just their third minor premiership in club history, after doing it in 1996 and 2014, when they lost both Grand Finals. Another loss would give the Tigers their fewest wins since 2011.
2. Richmond has now won the past three contests between the sides and five of the last seven, and there have been some thrillers, with the last four games all decided by three goals or less.
3. No team has laid more tackles more than the Swans, who average 79.3 per game, while no team tackles less than the Tigers, with only 60.8 per game.
4. The teams have played 27 times at the SCG, with the Swans winning 16, including seven of the last eight; the Tigers' win in 2015 was their first at the SCG since 2004.
5. The Swans are ranked second for quarters won in 2016 with 57, two behind the Giants with 59; Richmond is 12th with 34. The Swans have won 13 final quarters compared to the Tigers' eight.
6. The Swans have three star midfielders ranked inside the top 20 of the AFL's official player ratings, in Josh Kennedy (4th), Luke Parker (11th) and Dan Hannebery (18th), while the Tigers' highest ranked onballer Dustin Martin is 31st.
IT’S A BIG WEEK FOR… Dane Rampe.
Will likely be given the task of shutting down the dangerous Riewoldt, and if he maintains his 2016 form, should sew up his first All Australian blazer on Saturday. Rampe's run from the back 50 has been enormous this season, and while he's been an attacking weapon for the Swans, his one-on-one work has also been superb.
PREDICTION: Sydney Swans by 51 points

Richmond: Shaun Grigg, Kane Lambert, Taylor Hunt, Mabior Chol

-
Predictably, this is going to be ugly. Swans with 3 goals already.
-
Chol looked good there. A shame he missed from 50 on the run.
18 - 3
-
Arsebury has no idea what he's supposed to do. Rance is not happy Jan. :rollin
-
Today was always going to end up a thrashing which is where this game is heading already: 34-4. Us in self-preservation mode in the final game of the year with nothing to play for against a Swans side gunning for top spot, a %-booster, home final and revenge. Surprised we risked playing Rance, Cotch, Dusty and Jack in a meaningless game that we'd get thrashed in anyway.
4 points to us. Another game this year where we can't kick straight and take our scoring chances.
-
About to turn this rubbish off.
Play finals next year. Bugger me. Absolute money cheating scumbags running this team.
-
Another poor miss from Titch.
Swans 14 Inside 50s for 5.4
Tiges 11 Inside 50s for 0.5
-
You still sound surprised we are crap, nothing but crap.
What did you expect? Did you expect us to belt them? Or even show some sort of play that resembles AFL?? C'mon, its the RFC you follow.
-
Jack across the goal and OOTF.
Most of them are thinking about not getting injured [touchwood] and holidays. Same as Melbourne earlier today.

Quarter time
Richmond 0.5-5
Sydney 5.6-36
Goals: -
Tackles: 14 - 23 despite being 5 goals down.
We're winning the contested footy though :snidegrin (but nothing else).
Reliable Richmond defender Alex Rance has taken three first quarter intercept marks.

Sydney at 89% by foot
-
Hammer gets a free in the ruck 20m out 45 degree angle.
He gets it ;D.
Rich 11
Syd 36
-
Really poor defence Richmond
-
Edwards is the dumbest sheep on the paddock :rollin
-
Geez The Chol had put some size on
-
Elton just signed his delisting papers :rollin
-
Call me oldschool but these guys want bruise free football.. play the man and bloody smash em. We won't win a game next year under Hardwick anyway. Run straight through them.
-
Lambert misses another getable shot.
We get another go but Elton drops a sitter.
We get a third go. Dusty finds Elton 70m out but we handball backwards and sideways and get caught holding the ball allowing the Swans to gain possession in the midfield. Sums us up.
12 - 42
-
Dusty is injured
-
Chol has some real X factor. He will be an amazing footballer
-

We don't/can't play that way anyway :P but even if we did there was no way that today we'd be playing crash, bash and smash footy in the last game of the season. Players are thinking about getting this season over and going on holidays.
Edit: Well as long as they don't get frustrated like Cotch did just then and swing an arm.
-
l said we get smashed today by 100 points & that will happen.
Richmond can not win games if they going to let their opponent play 5 metres off & caroling them cause it don't work. l want Hardwick finished up cause his coaching is terrible
-
Elton at the centre bounce
-
Moore kicked that blindly over his head straight down the throat of 2 Swans. get rid of him too :banghead Cost a goal
-
Well, erm.....this is um, bad. Even by our standards
-
Rance now frustrated and gives away 100m. Need a mercy rule and blow the siren.
Dusty is injured
Back on but nursing that right leg. As I said I'm not sure why we'd risk our few quality footballers in a meaningless final game of the season.
-
Elton at the centre bounce
That lasted long. Chol now in there.
-
Umpires favoring Swans :banghead

Chol has passion
-
We playing our attacking backwards football now. TV will go off if l see this poo again :banghead
-
Anyone see Ellis drop the handball under pressure?
Absolute coward.
-
Dimma talking to ground officials as we speak re the Mercy rule...
-
Heeney is a jet. Future brownlow medalist.
And its 63 pts down >:(
-
Dunstall summed it right up

He can keep playing like a coward today as long as Sydney win by more than 100+ pts l be happy.
End of season shoot the cowards ;D
-
Great to see we are going into Pre Season with confidence and momentum.

Should not have played Chol either
Just spectating

Stop f******g blaming rookies. Look at our senior players that you laud so much. They are getting killed.
-
l would offer Luke Hodge 500k a year for the next 5 years cause you would know you get your moneys worth. Pity his contracted cause he works 10 times harder than Edwards, Bellis, & others
Lloyd & Riewoldt not getting along today as well
-
Carlton the cheating scum got rolled by the Druggies how fitting they are tanking
-
Geelong 2007 - the halftime margin was 107 points .....but 81 points is still quite humiliating.
The boys obviously don't want to be hurting too much and miss out on Mad Monday .
-
Nobody care out there.
If that's not a good enough reason to sack the coach and get some true leadership
Nothing is.
-
Have noticed this all season but we have such a strong defensive mindset (which doesnt translate to execution obviously) that all over the park we generally dont even look at the ball, more worried about spectating by watching their opposition player.
This is clearly the defensive style of Dumwit who should be banished to the darkest coaches dungeon with the keys thrown in the deepest ocean never to be seen again (yes i am a Game of Thrones fan).

Lmfao at how Prestia will make things different.
My tip is bottom 4 next year and dimwit will get the arse by July
-
Better get Dmac back to play he has kicked more goals than Junk Time Jack this year. Won the league goal kicking :clapping :snidegrin

Here here
-
Why the fudge is Rance not wearing Franklin everywhere he goes...
-
This is a ploy to run them ragged and then we will bring it home in the fourth :shh
-
l'm dumb founded why our forwards come down to half back to get the ball
:jump
-
SPORTSBET start counting my money :lol
-
Lot of injuries today, 90% of players are already booked in for anal reconstructive surgery after being comprehensively and industrially reamed by their opponents
-
Absolute JOKE
-

YESSSSSSS :lol
-
l truly hope no supporter has traveled to Sydney to watch this cause it's alot of money to throw away.
-
Vickery will get a new 5 year contract worth 4 million after this
14 points & near 3/4 time :banghead
-
umpires don't mind helping their cause much like we stuffing need a reaming from them too
-
On our way out to dinner - lucky Sydney is much better to eat out than watch football ;D
-
Chol looks a bit shy of getting in amongst it, looks like they have successfully curbed his natural talent
-
Take Dusty off the ground & wrap his season up Dimwit
-
Just kicked our second goal, we are still in it.
-
Pick #6 is well & truly secured :snidegrin
-
All our players are on indefinite leave to deal with depression after this game
-
I weep for our tall recruiting over the years, we really stuffed up to be so monumentally out classed by every club.
-
Seriously who cares they never had a chance & not 1 of us would have picked them to win. l said early in the week it be over 100 points. As long as none are injured its season over for us all & time to hibernate till Dusty shows us his Brownlow Medal & hopefully Cotchin will be rewarded with his. Be very interesting how the coup goes now :snidegrin
-
& Edwards the rag doll is never seen again in a Richmond jumper. He must be delisted
-
is Grigg playing ?
-
Oh goody, pick 6, another champ lie Conca on the way...
-
Thank God thats over, roll on 2018, hopefully Hardwick and co. have been shown the door by then.
-
Oh goody, pick 6, another champ lie Conca on the way...
That's what they get when they draft a player in Conca who had never even played a senior game of any sort before being drafted. They took a player who had no experience at senior level is a joke. Yes he can play football no doubt but his not elite & this is why he has had injuries problems. His been pushed not natural
-
The whole thing is amateur hour on repeat.
Do they not have shame?
-
"Look, they're not minor premiers for nothing, they are a damn good team". It's such a wrong comment but will no doubt will be used and hence the culture and mentality of the players and football department needs a massive overhaul.
-
@Richmond_FC "Yeh , I'm happy with our defensive side...they only kicked ....27 goals ...I think...so we'll look,at that and probably take that into 2017....so...Yeh...hmmm."
-
The apologists would have enjoyed today. Probably brought their own tub of vas.
-
The most depressing thing is - we have at least three more years of Houli, Edwards & Astbury, two more years of Hamspud and year more of Grigg & Hunt.
Lambert & Moore will probably be re-signed....Butler, Lennon & McBean will be trade or delisted....
....and Hardwick still won;t be sacked....and we'll the same hacks playing the same putrid non-tackling, non-scoring, non-threatening gameplan for another half a season....
-
stuffing scoreline...are we batting yet?
-
The apologists would have enjoyed today. Probably brought their own tub of vas.
l be buying everyone a tub of vas after my big win on todays game. Thankyou Sydney & Sportsbet :snidegrin
-
"Oh look that's just the way it goes. We're a low tackling side and....well they were just brilliant. Sydney. Weren't they?"
-
Something is gonna give.
-
Something is gonna give.
Depends on how Benny's job search is going
-
Something weird going on I reckon
-
"Oh look that's just the way it goes. We're a low tackling side and....well they were just brilliant. Sydney. Weren't they?"
Thats the problem with the whole culture at the club, we spend way too much time applauding others rather than focusing on the things we can change to be a better side. Always seem to be coached to nullify an opposition rather than just beating them by playing better and smarter.
2017 is another wasted season and is the ultimate in selfishness by the current regime. They all need to have a really good look at every aspect of how the club operates and this needs to be done by a totally external body with no conflict of interest.
The only way to retain members given the crap the side has dished out this season is total transparency and currently it feels like the decision makers are still shielding some important details behind major decisions along the way which supporters will no doubt find reprehensible once out in the public domain.
-
Your not wrong
-
We may spend an inordinate amount of time applauding the good sides, unfortunately we don't spend nearly enough time measuring ourselves against them as we're seemingly happy to just measure our success against past Richmond sides.
-
is Grigg playing ?
Bellis and grigg same old same old
It's like Groundhog Day
-
Grigg played like a bloke who knows he's now safe for yet another year....
.....actually he just played like Grigg.....
-
Yeah look Sydney are a quality side.... :banghead
-
We can shape the 8...........
-
We can shape the minor premiership...........
e.f.a
-
I cheered on every single Sydney goal hoping it may open up their eyes.
How poo are our so called leaders.yet it will be the younger blokes who cop it again.
-
We can shape the 8...........
We did.
Helped Sydney get top spot
Helped get GWS into the top 4
-
So Sydney managed to square the series at 1-1 - when's the decider? In a few weeks? Is it back in Melbourne? Reckon we'll bounce back just quietly..... :shh
-
Ok, just heard that there will be no third game and Sydney were awarded the series on aggregate - what a stuffing gyp. AFL screwing us over again.
-
Hardwicks presser after the game was a joke! Laughing and joking with media.
No pride at all after 120 loss

-
What a tosser. Anyone got the link?
-
Rfc webbie.
He also said he is always one to play the kids I nearly spewed.
Also that they basically turned off and we're looking toward 2017.
Unbelievable.
-
Journo "hey dimma, what about that 2 year extension"
Hardwick " haaaaaaaargh haaaaaaaaargh"
-
(https://s21.postimg.org/434uggpk7/image.jpg)
What the effing hell?
😠
-
It was Rance's 150th and they put in that effort. Massive problems at this club.
-
Yeah we line up and clap off other clubs for their milestones, for us they kick scores that match or exceed their milestones
-
I cheered on every single Sydney goal hoping it may open up their eyes.
How poo are our so called leaders.yet it will be the younger blokes who cop it again.
Too late Claw, Jackstar was already on it before half time :lol
BTW they didn't win by a record margin but why let facts get in the way of stirring the pot
-
(https://s21.postimg.org/434uggpk7/image.jpg)
I get people are peeved, really do but ....
Suggest people take a chill pill and try and get a hold of the piece before the actual presser and why there was some laughing going after he whacked a bottle of powerade of the presser table that had a pic of Hanneberry on the label... that's what the "joke" was about, nothing to do with actual presser
And seriously did anyone think we'd get within 10-15 goals of Sydney with the team we had... seriously anyone?
Moore C showed last week he was miles off AFL ditto Choi but at least we got to see them
it was a pathetic performance not because we lost because we were always going to lose but how when lost
Every single person at the club from the President, to the CEO, to the GM of Footy, to the Coach, to the captain to boot studder, to the property steward needs to be held to account.. every single one of the them
Unlike some I not pointing fingers at one area, I am pointing at all areas....
-
Defending the undefendable again WP.
The dud should have been ropeable, but instead looks and acts like he is guaranteed another 1.2 million for doing SFA.

Yes he should have been ropeable
But I get peeved when people twist things to suit their purpose rather than dealing in facts and basing their discussion / argument on that
that was my point
