A good time to review individual Tigers. First up is Floss.

Floss in his 4th year of AFL played 19 games. His best returns for the year were 22 possies & 8 marks against Collingwood (R20), 22 possies & 4 marks vs Brisbane (R14), 21 disposals & 7 marks vs Essendon (R10), and 18 possies, 5 marks & 8 tackles vs Sydney (R8).

How did we all rate Vlastuin's year?

I gave him 5

When  he was thrown in the guts he looked great. Reckon he should spend more time there as it would make him a better player

But apart from that he just didn't seem to improve much if at all on previous seasons

his best games were when he went into the midfield against swans and hawks.  never to be seen there again.  hardwick must have forgotten or was sidetracked while talking about finals and icebergs and vickery

An ordinary season by a kid who has now around long enough for us to expect elite performance. This is an issue of application, player development and opportunity

2 at best
Don't know who gave him 10  :lol
Has no motor therefore restricted to playing behind the ball
Lost crucial contests during games which resulted to plenty being kicked on him

In a quantitative sense has not developed.

Looking like hey may join the likes of Conca as another failed first rounder.

Slots into the back 6 and holds his position through executing very basic and generally accountable football you'd expect from an ok pick 40-50.

Lack of other back 6 options at the club putting pressure on his selection and indirect game plan has probably stifled his development.

If he doesn't have the tank to go in the midfield questions need to be asked.

Would be an A grader at Hawthorn or Bulldogs.

Nowhere near that at Richmond.

Do you get my drift? :whistle

Highlights terrible player development.

Kid can play but has stagnated under Dimma.

Gave him a 4. Seemed beaten this year at too many crucial times. Expect 2017 to be a much better season

Why are our players so unfit?

He is another that could never end the game as strong he started. Talented and tough no doubt but just not able to give a full 4 qtr performance.

I hope we get a new fitness department also as we are miles behind the elite teams.  :banghead

He's not as fit now as he was at the end of his first year....how does that happen?

Anyway...imagine Lethal playing Voss in the backline....because that's pretty the equivalent of what Halfstep is doing with this bloke....

Voss wouldn't let that get to his football. It called pride.

Vlastuin lacks pride? Where do you think his best position is?

I love how people think every footballer is only capable of playing in one position...

I mean he is better as a midfielder, but we needed him down back this year because of injuries.  I reckon he may play mid next year more.

or maybe not since we are getting prestia

Yep.Compared to Voss I reckon he does. If Voss have played sub to Dimma he'd have been the best damn sub there ever was - probably would've saved it as a concept on the back of his performance. I like Vlas but he doesn't hold a candle to the great Michael Voss.

Bit contradictory there fella. he's only a ever played down back so actually most people are advocating him adding a string to his bow playing a second position  ;)

And what do you mean we needed him down back this year, he's been down back for his whole career with us....

Thats the ole Hardwick mentality right there, play a midfielder in defense and stunt his development whilst not playing defenders when opportunity knocks  and stunting their development too.
 :facepalm

yeah, I'll admit I was wrong on this, he did play down back in recent years, but in recent years our midfield hasn't looked so bad and he played well down back.

this year he should have played mid more but we did need him down back (for this year)

Deledio discussing Vlastuin:

“I think with Nick, we need to challenge him to maybe step up and play some time in the midfield.  I think he’s such a good user of the footy and a good decision-maker and he’s got that hard edge.  He’s pretty tough.”

One thing I like about the bloke is he is always willing to take the players on. He may not break many but he at least sucks a man in and doesn't just give hospital hand passes to someone under more pressure (Hunt)
