Lol

Actually think it's a very good appointment, a good tactician and likes direct attacking football, so maybe we are changing the game plan finally.

And I never said Scott can't coach

Caracella, 39, joins Richmond’s coaching panel after seven seasons at Geelong, including the 2011 premiership triumph, and was also at Collingwood from 2007-09.

The highly-regarded deputy to Chris Scott won premierships at both Essendon (2000) and Brisbane (2003) as a player and also spent time with the Magpies, for whom he worked as part of that club’s coaching panel.

Caracella worked under Richmond’s new General Manager of Football, Neil Balme, for five years at Geelong and was a teammate of the Tigers’ senior coach Damien Hardwick in Essendon’s 2000 premiership side.

Balme said Caracella was a quality person with an outstanding playing and coaching CV.

“Blake has impressive credentials, experiencing great success throughout his playing and coaching career, and we’re really excited that he’s joining our coaching ranks,” Balme said.

“I know what a quality person Blake is, and can’t speak highly enough of him, having spent a number of years working with him as both a player and a coach.

“We’re looking forward to him hitting the ground running along with Damien, the other coaches, and the players at the start of the 2017 pre-season.”

Caracella played 126 games and kicked 151 goals for the Bombers, 34 games and 33 goals at the Lions and finished with 27 games and 34 goals for the Pies.

In 2015 he was one of nine assistant coaches to be accepted into the AFL’s elite level-four coaching program.

Geelong football manager Steve Hocking said Caracella went with the club’s blessing.

“Blake has done an exceptional job with the club over a long period, and we wish him well at Richmond,” Hocking said.

“Blake is part of the AFL’s level four coaching program and it is important that he continues to grow and develop as a coach. Blake has been a popular figure at our club and we look forward to following his progress as he pursues future coaching opportunities.”

Caracella played alongside Richmond coach Damien Hardwick in the Bombers' 2000 flag and then in the Lions' 2003 flag after the Bombers had to trade him due to their salary cap.

An astute reader of the game as a player, he has taken that skill into the coach's box as an influential strategist and game-day coach.

Caracella was one of the first assistants accepted into the level-four coaching program run by the AFL.

“Blake’s had a fair bit of experience in coaching.  He’s been in some really good programs –  Collingwood, when he was there, plus, obviously, his work at Geelong,” Balme told ‘Roar Vision’.

“He’s a really smart coach . . .

“I think he’ll bring a hell of a lot to this program.

“I’m really very excited to have him here.”

Caracella’s exact role with the Tigers is yet to be determined, but Balme expressed considerable confidence in his capacity to successfully manage any coaching assignment.

“I’m not sure which line he’ll take – we haven’t quite decided that – but he’s capable of doing any of probably the five different disciplines that are in it, whether it’s we’ve got the ball, they’ve got the ball, or whether it’s forward, back or midfield.  He’s certainly had experience in all those things,” Balme said.

12 months is a long time in football.  Not too many of OERs resident experts endorsing his initial appointment.

Apart from "Harry", I didn't see anyone really criticising it either.....but yeah the fact that some waited to see the evidence i.e. our game plan in operation under actual premiership  match conditions, which as it turned out was pretty obvious fairly early on to anyone with a clue, clearly proves whatever stupid point you think you're making and further underlines your steadfast belief that Halfstep has been the mastermind of the resurgence...

...or more likely you're just making up for last year's promised trolling campaign that you were forced to quickly & sheepishly abort as the season  turned to shyte after round one... :shh
