11 years service during some pretty dark years ...will always be remembered as a tiger.
Last year 11 games 9 goals. Body looks very proppy.
I know there's a stat about our winning record without Lids is poor - Stats can be misleading. Richmonds winning percentage without Matthew Richardson was actually quite high .
Can anyone remember games where Lids actually tore the opposition apart. I struggle . Don't have that problem with Cotchin or Dusty.
There was that Adelaide game in 2013 where Sanderson didn't tag him .

Hawks in 2015? Didn't get a whole lot of ball but kicked 3-4 goals and was very dangerous. Agree with the sentiment though, he phased out of games way to easily

Will probably miss his strong and ferocious tackling

Big apologies and a massive oversight - Lids was terrific in that Hawks game .
-
If we make any finals ever again we will miss the way he stands up in them like the elite player he is
-
kids will miss the autographs

Not his fault - Cotchin drags him down....
-
Will miss his 50 %efforts
-
We'll miss his team ethos and leadership :sarcasm
-
He is now a GWS player. I won't miss him as such....

try 12 years , I had a bet with a tiger mate about how long before this started.... got it pretty right. Must feel good to pot a 2x All Aus...5 times nominated ...dualB&F ....Dual R/UP....Dual 3rd B&F.... rising star winner..... yep must feel really good....and you can do it anonymously as well ..how good is that!!!!
-
He's really important to the team structure because he is one of the few players which is actually quick and is capable of kicking goals beyond the 50m arc. The fact he can rotate through the midfield makes him a real asset. I will miss him
-
I figure Caddy will play his role and if he plays 22 games then we're ahead. If he plays 11 we lose because lids is probably better than Caddy.

Don't think he was taking pot shots more commenting as he seen it and asking everyone's opinion
-
We will 100% not miss him.
Bloke hardly played all year. Was good for a dash and 50m shot now and then but that's about it. His proper midfield days are beyond him.
Twilight indeed. Hopefully GWS get the best out of him but RFC has already got everything they ever were.
-
We can't win when he's not in the side. Spoon time.
-
Didn't win too many of those 3 finals he played in either
-
Dint win too many when he did play for most of his career.
another pointless stat.
-
Yes we will, we did when he went out of the side last year and every time before that. We won more games with him in the side.
-
Delediwho?
-
Delediwho?
exactly
-
No disrespect to LIds - but we need more genuine midfielders not flankers.
Getting Caddy and Prestia fills a need that Lids cant really offer us anymore.
He'll be a great fit for GWS.
-
Because he didn't play midfield vs Syd when he racked up 25 possessions by half time in Cotch's absence?
-
cause hell be missed a fit and firing lids is a quality player and any club would love him, for what we have brought in for him dion and caddy I think we have done well
-
also can someone who has the power and update the photos on the page no more lids, newy time for a revamp :clapping :clapping :clapping :clapping

Who needs deledio when you have caddy
-
Lids was a polished foot soldier who could play midfield and half back well. But he wasnt an absolute star. He could be damaging but too often wasnt.
No X factor like a Dusty or a Nathan Brown.
And Knights had him covered for kicking, awareness and bringing others into the game.

It's a winner, let's get it up and running

All hail the deranged possessed doll! :bow :bow

As a matter of conjecture, what pick were we likely to get next year for Lids?
Looks like we are going to get reamed again?
Surely the AFL should step in?
-
Will we miss Deledio? No ...

interesting
GWS first pick though im sure we will still get it
-
Yeah the AFL won't take any picks they traded out off the other clubs.
-
Yeah it was actually Geelong's pick before ours.
-
Even if it was GWS's pick to start with, we'd still get it.....they're not going to punish other clubs for GWS's crimes, there'd be a revolt......f.e. we'll still get their third rounder next year and it will still be relative to where they finish...

so it could be pick 54, thats OK then :scream :banghead

I can smell what you're stepping in there mol but we are getting the Cats first pick which they traded to the GWS. With any luck, that will end up being around pick 10-12.

It is good for next year as we get to support two teams each weekend. Richmond plus the team playing Geelong

The point is the AFL won't strip picks GWS traded out off the clubs they traded them to, regardless of whether or not they were on traded from a third club or were just straight trades of GWS's own picks... those picks now belong to the clubs GWS traded them to not, GWS...the AFL can't change that and would only strip GWS of picks they currently still hold.... surely not that hard to comprehend...

Diocletian
I believe get GWS's first pick next year.
Can you give me a range or idea of what that will be ?
-
The 2017 round one pick GWS traded to us for Deledio was originally Geelong's - so it will be relative to where Geelong finish on the ladder. The AFL will not take it off us.
The 2017 round three pick GWS traded us for Deledio was originally their's - so it will be relative to where GWS finish on the ladder. The AFL will not take it off us.
Neither of these picks nor their order will be adversely affected by the AFL stripping GWS of draft picks....in fact the only thing GWS being excluded from the draft can possibly do to those picks is actually move them up the order....
Worst case scenario for us - Geelong beat GWS in the GF....we get pick 18 & 53 from the Deledio trade...but if GWS are stripped of say, their first two draft picks - then it's 17 & 51.....and we still have our own first round pick as well, which will likely be in the top 10...
