Title: Daniel Rioli vs Ben Lennon
Post by: MintOnLamb on November 21, 2016, 11:12:41 AM
Daniel put together a lovely body of work in his first year.
He was given ample opportunity and IMESHO was a standout for a first year player at RFC and it seems we have a pretty good player at the club who will move forward in 2017 :clapping

Then take Ben Lennon and his time at RFC to date.
Has failed to get consistent opportunity either due to injury or attitude.

May have above average foot skills (but who knows)

Seems to be disinterested in defensive football (but who knows)

Observing from the sideline what is the take on both these players and their time to date at the club.

The attitude Daniel has displayed this year with regards to 1% effort and defensive actions, I hope it migrates to more players at the club especially Mr Lennon.

Does Ben need to take a massive reality check and change his attitude OR does the club need to give him more opportunity?

ud have to say dan at this point mate hopefully a good full season for him bit of size will work wonders for him, but in saying that I hope ben can get his head on and perform to what we expect him to do as he would be good on the HFF can mark and kick goals I could see him taking Llyolds spot if up and running

I must admit I wasn't as happy as some were with Rioli.
Sure he put on some decent pressure in some games which is the bare minimum, but there were a lot of games he barely touched the footy and we played basically one short.  An ok start to his career IMO but nothing more.
That's not to say he won't be a very good player but some IMO go overboard.

On the other hand Ben wasn't given many opportunities as he isn't one of Dimma's favourites. I've learnt not to believe everything that comes out of the club's mouth.

If we are to improve in 2017 both these boys need to be playing well for this club.
