FJ was just interviewed on SEN:
Bolton - Very exciting player. Will add flare and speed to our forward line. Terrific season especially at the national carnival and in the all stars game. Has shown fantastic improvement and given he has a December birthday, he's at younger end of the age scale and there's lots of improvement still left in him.
Graham - great leadership, competitiveness, ballwinning ability and grunt. Running capacity is outstanding.
Garthwaite - Versatility adds to his armoury. Was rarely beaten in the national carnival. Can play on talls and smalls. Kicking efficiency is not too bad but needs to work on his kicking. Great character and rarely beaten.

Get that you have little time for the bloke Angus
But like it or not based on all the info available and what the experts are saying we've done well at this draft.
It's now up to the coaches to develop them

you cant really expect much more from a person who publicly sates that someone who doesnt answer their email does so because they dont have the courage to, but doesnt have the courage themselves to make that email public

------------------------------------------------------
Richmond’s Recruiting Manager Francis Jackson provides a summary of the three players the Tigers picked up in last night’s 2016 National Draft . . .
Shai Bolton, small forward (South Fremantle, WAFL)
“Shai’s a really exciting player, who played for the South Fremantle Colts. He brings a lot of flair, genuine speed, and ability to make things happen. He had a really good (under-18s) national carnival and also played well in the All Stars game (at Punt Road on Grand Final eve) . . . I think he kicked 37 goals in the Colts competition (in the 2016 season), so he’ll be a genuine excitement machine playing up forward . . . At this stage last year, we wouldn’t have thought Daniel (Rioli) would have the impact and play as many games as he did (during 2016). So, we really look forward to Shai being able to emulate Daniel’s feats.”
Jack Graham, inside midfielder (North Adelaide, SANFL)
“Jack had a wonderful (under-18s) national carnival (captain of SA, winner of the Larke Medal and All-Australian representative). His work ethic and competitiveness are outstanding. He works really hard and is a leader, who just leads with great example. He’s really hard in the contest, yet he’s an outstanding runner. He’s played against men, so (at Richmond) he’ll play in the midfield and win a lot of contested footy – clearances, inside stuff. But he’s an elite runner as well. So that really gives him a point of difference.”
Ryan Garthwaite, tall defender (GWS Academy member/Murray Bushrangers, TAC Cup)
“I love Ryan’s competitiveness. He hates losing and is rarely beaten. He’s very versatile. He’s about 193 (cm), but also can play on the ‘smalls’. He had a terrific year with the Bushrangers, particularly in the finals. I think the (TAC Cup) grand final was his best game, which really is a great feat, to play your best game of the year in a grand final – the biggest game. He has a little bit of work to do with his kicking technique, but we think we can modify that . . . He’ll be a really dour defender that rarely gets beaten. We did expect GWS to take him at some stage, so we’re delighted that they didn’t . . . They left him for us, which was very fortunate.”

Shai Bolton, small forward (South Fremantle, WAFL)
“Shai’s a really exciting player, who played for the South Fremantle Colts... I think he kicked 37 goals in the Colts competition (in the 2016 season)
Not sure what it's like over there so if someone can clarify/correct me that'd be great but that does not seem all that impressive to me. I've played Colts over here (the lowest level) when I came back from an injury and kicked 30 odd goals and I'm a deadset plodder.

Colts is WAFL U/19s.
He actually kicked 37 goals from 15 colts games this season.
He bagged 7.0 in a BOG game against East Perth Colts (who ended up being losing grandfinalists) in Round 22 and carried that form into the finals. He kicked 8 goals in the 2 Colts finals he played in (4 goals in each game) which were both losses. Was in Souths' best players both times.
South Fremantle's league side was strong this year, but I am a little surprised he didn't crack a league game this year.

aHH fJ I wondeer if this draft turns out to be another failure will he take responsibility. really is funny only at richmond can you be sacked but not really be sacked.11 YRS OF FAILURE NOT ENOUGH FOR THE CLUB TO GET RID OF HIM.N o lets give him a swan song draft freakin hilarious.
-
the real story about us going for this guy is that he starred at the game at Punt Rd and FJ just happened to be having a coffee and looked across and thought thats our target.

This is why we are a basket case of the highest order. What games was this dud watching that has him making these ludicrous delusional statements. Daniel impacted about 0.004 games you fool. He is a work in progress that we HOPE continues to improve so he can have the impact you so stupidly suggest he had last year.

Daniel impacted a little more than that. He didn't hit the score board much but watching him live, he ran himself ragged putting pressure on the opposition backs. Did you actually watch him?

Yes i did and I will leave the debate at that. I dont think you get it, so its no point going on.

Shai was more highly rated than Rioli ever was at the same stage. Would love them too develop a chemistry between the two of them. They will give opposition backs headaches for many years.

Can't win a final....should fit right in... :gotigers

Will be a god to the 'just happy to play finals' brigade then
Bigger question is, will he crack Cotch's 9 disposals record?

What debate? All you said was someones opinion is ludicrous and saying he impacted on 0.004 games. When someone else put some substance behind their opinion (i.e. pressuring opposition) you say debate over? :lol

yeah i stated that FJ's statements were delusional and ludicrous. He played in the FL and didnt impact the scoreboard. I am not knocking the kid, i got time for him but to say he was anything above promising is really clutching for straws at this stage. We have had a truckload of players who pressured the opposition, we even re-modelled Morris to be that type of player too. It means nought if we he dont make it on the scoreboard

So I suppose his Rising star nomination was for .06 of a game (0.004x15 games)? :lol
