I didn't arrive until 10am and I don't remember Tambling being out there when I was there now that you mention it X. I was paying attention more on those that were doing drills close to the Station end of the ground where I was sitting. I've sent an email off asking for clarification.
-
thanx mt!
if bling has pinged his hammy again i will be very upset. last yr i argued with miller about this cos they wont take my advice about his back related hammy issues. they keep injecting muscle relaxants and pain killrs in him but thats not fixing the problem. my bro , a tiger member also is a very respected and successful gonstead chiropractor, he deals with these issues every day but they still wont take bling to see him as they believe all the bs the medicos and physios do and say! its really getting up my skin, they believe they are using the best resourses and treatments and they are not, how many times do these reoccuring injuries have to happen b4 they realise "hello this current treatment aint working!"

X, I've just been looking at the photos from training and although I didn't notice Tambo at the time as I was concentrating on watching Browny, Tambo was sitting just behind Browny on the boundary with an icepack underneath his right hammy :(.

I'll keep the thread titled as unconfirmed as I'm only going on this pic and I don't know what the actual status is. Doesn't look that hopeful though :(.
-
I've been hearing this since about midday, so i'd say its probable!
I think this is his 3rd hammy within 1 and a bit seasons so i think its fair to say the kids gonna have a lot of hammy problems in his career! :(

mt u should be a P.I.!
this just should not happed, that is all these back related hammy strains. its about time miller and the rfc bloody listen to me and do something about it, 1 and 1/2 urs of bs medical treatment has achieved jack poo, my bro could fix his problem in 2 minutes, its plain obv, bling has whats called a subluxation in his lower spine, causing nerve interference to his hammy. no muscle relaxant or massage or pain killer will improve this sublaxation, doctors have no idea what they are , nor physios, thus if they cant find these subluxations, they cant treat them! only a specialised chiropractor can do it! one adjustment to the problem area and a gonstead chiro will fix it!
-
So X is it more like sciatica?
-
Tambo worries me that he's gonna have these injuries throughout his career.
Hope not for his sake - great potential.
-
stuff him off
-
4 hammies in 12 months makes him a liability. :help
-
X since your a back specialist is it normal that my lower back is extremely sore when i wake up and the only way to make it feel better is to stretch and get it to crack say about 15 times? :help
-
So X is it more like sciatica?
exactly. sciatica is a pinched nerve as u know which as a result the referred pain goes down ur leg. whats happening with bling and many afl players who suffer back rel hammys, is that the nerve that is used to relay info from the brain to the hammy is in a way pinched or interfered by the subluxation of that specific vertebrae. now that subluxation can a/ cause swelling and interference to nerve function or b/ pinch the nerve causing interference or c/ both. as i said, medicos, docs physios, cant treat this as they cant diagnose it as they dont have the knowledge to do so, its specific to chiropractic

lol, im no specialist, my bro is, thats why i know a bit about it, in ur case, it may be that ur bed /mattres isnt really suited for ur spine, it may be tightening as u say thus the stretching helps. when ur back cracks, its not bones grinding, its actually gas escaping from the joint that is trapped. (in a way its like a fart) when a chiro adjusts ur back the cracks u hear are not bones grinding , its this gas escaping
-
My spies told me last night that it's more of tweak than a tear - so it's not a bad one
Having a de-generated back related hamstring condition (put simple my lower back is stuffed ;D) - I do know what it is like to get up in the morning and not be able to move and how tight my hammies used get.
Over the last 12 months things have improved as I now have a set of exercises I have to do 3 times per day - in the morning when I 1st get up, when i get home from work and just before going to bed. I also have to go for short walks during the day to keep everything flexible :thumbsup Will admit that in the last few months (because of some other stuff going on) I've been very slack in the stretching department and as a result the backs gone backwards and I've needed more physio every week

Its a "back bed", i don't care what it is getting all those cracks at the sametime is like a shot of morphine! :D

hope ur spies are right wp, but its still worrying that these tweaks are still occuring

the club needs to have a closer look. doctors, chiro....whatever is needed, this poo cant go on...

The problem is medico's are EXTREMELY arrogant when it comes to their work!

The problem is medico's are EXTREMELY arrogant when it comes to their work!
and thats saying it nicely! they are so pathetic its not funy
-
I've already got Tambling down as another Merenda. We are never going to see the best from this boy. A shame
-
Ah stuff.
Lance Franklin anybody?
>:( :(
-
4 hammys in 12 months.
Anyone else very scared we wasted a number 4 draft pick?
-
Nah- coz I think miller would be smart enough to offload him back to west australia for a good deal. It would be better however that we fix this problem asap.

- He's not from WA
- You can't just 'offload him'
- If we were to trade him I very much doubt we'd get anywhere near a pick 4 in a strong draft[/li]
-
theres been no word at all about a hammy the only one to say a hammy is Bee Dee from bigfooty
-
What about the Bowen technique X - would that help?
-
may i let you all in on a little secret 3 weeks ago tuck was in a similair situation where he was icing his hammy and he jsut said he had a small bit of pain and was icing it just to be safe and im thinking maybe tambo was doing the same
-
CB,
WA is probably where hed like to play. We can offload him, we can offload anybody. Its not the desired option. He is still worth a top 10 selection- even in next years draft.

I was simply refering to the below thread

bowen cant help this at all, bowen therapy is a style of massage therapy. the only thing that can fix back rel hammy problems is to adjust the subluxated vertebrae in the spine. its a simple procedure which only a good chiro can do
-

if thats the case fair enough for tucky, but bling already has a big history with this hammy problem which does raise concerns
-

miller maybe bo ok at his job, but he does have his faults. such as he isnt as smart as he thinks he is, 2/ he is arrogant and 3/ he is not willing to take advice from others on issues which he thinks he knows more about!!! eg blings hammy
-
I only mentioned Bowen cause I remember Hubby had to get some when he was having bad sciatica problems a couple of years ago. My hip was :thumbsup out last week and apart from the obvious lower back problems, I was having a crampy like feeling in my left leg. Went to the chiropractor and all better.

u never know julz, bowen my help bling also, the thing that irrates me is the medicos involved in afl would not allow athletes to seek "alternative" treatments, basically they are stuck in the medical system
where about in qld are u from, its good ur chiro can help u. i have a contact up there who is a very good chiro

Very much so.

Chiropractors are evil and ripoffs/jews, they scare you into coming back for more sessions when you don't need them!
Well thats what today tonight told me anyway! :P

yeh i know what your saying im just clinging on to hope that the club is just being careful with him, as they were with shane
-
I agree in that i dearly, dearly HOPE that the club is looking into every possible alternative to help richie nip this problem in the bud. Sadly the early warning signs show that the current arrangements are not working. I hope this is the ONLY wakeup call the medicos need to 'switch their light on' and put something else in place.
Im finding all this "he's gone" "another merenda" talk very pre-emptive. Lets all take a step back and remember theres a looonng long way to go before the end of this boys career and being so fatalistic at this point is'nt doing either of us any good and as for the real outcome, NO-ONE knows for sure.
Speculating with such forked tounges about an unknown future only serves to fill hawthorns sails, now surely were all wiser than that are'nt we?
-
why are there 2 topics on the same subject?
merge please...

Great post come on guys lets be positive we know the potential he has, we know he has had injury trouble but no need to be all negative about it the kid is still 19

You've got to be joking, I don't think we have ever had a merged thread on this board and thank Geez for that. So many good discussions get lost and hidden when some idiot thinks everything has to get merged. NO MERGING OF THREADS.
-
wow, you put forward a logical suggestion and you get insinuated to be an idiot. hmmmm
-
yep, looks like bling has a problem. back to the drawing board and back to the gym 4 him :weights
-
:invasion

Trained at punt road, nothing tooo serious

your right, having lots of threads on the same topic creates great discussions would never have found this out if the topics were merged.
lucky i read them all before i found this information out :whistle
-
Trained at punt road, nothing tooo serious
Thanks Jack - said it was just a tweak
should I post about it being a tweak in the other threads :jump :ROTFL
-
I know Tambo is a special player but 3 threads on him and his hammy is a touch too many ;). Threads have been merged.
-
now whats this thread about again.... ;D

wp ur the chief! but it still worries me, i think i will always stress about his hammy until he goes through a whole yr without a tweak

I used to be very sceptical about chiropractors. But I only see my guy when I need to, not when he says I have to. He is a personal friend of ours and for example, last year when I had nerve spasms in my back, we were able to see him, at his house, on a Sunday morning. The worse thing is that he is retiring next week but will be keeping some clients, like us. X I live on the Gold Coast.

this friend of mine is on the gold coast, and i have family who live there also and in sunny bank. gonstead chiros only see patients when its necessary, they are not like many who say u have to go see them so many times a week etc . gonstead is a specific and specialised form of chiro, if u like i can pm the details of this bloke just incase ur chiro fully retires
-
Did he do full training yesterday ? I must admit this is starting to get very concerning, even if it was just a precautionary ice, it is still a problem. What people say about Miller is concerning also, yes he is good at what he does BUT at the same time seems to be a bit to full of himself. If what X is saying is true and there aint no risk Why not give it a shot ? - I don't understand the mentality here :help
This kid could be an absolute champion of the game - Solve the problem now if it can be solved (here's hoping), and shut the dawk supporters up at the same time. :cheers
-
The kid is potentiall the best player from the 2004 crop. We gave up Franklin for him - regardless of what you think a person who would have been more than handy in our future.
Thus it'll hurt so much if he doesn't make it.
-
If it's just a tweak then you would think Tambo should be right for our first intra-club game in Ballarat. No harm done then if that's so.
-
wp ur the chief! but it still worries me, i think i will always stress about his hammy until he goes through a whole yr without a tweak
Didn't Mick Gale have alot of problems with his hammies during his career ???
Look I agree X - that it is a worry even if it is only a tweak or a minor one - somehow they have to come up with something that presents it
I just wonder if they (the club) should change his program (like you've suggested X) because the standard rehab doesn't seem to work for him. Perhaps they need to do for Tambo what they did for Cogs and his OP, that is a prgram for the individual rather than the stock standard :-\
-
the only bonus out of these back related hammys is no real structural damage is done, no tears at all.what happens is the refered pain and tighting gives u the sensationing if ur hammy tightening and tearing . the risk is playing on while its tight then u can tear it.
the hammys are not the issue, the issue is the back. but the afl have endorsed medical sports "specialists" , what they do is inject muscle relaxants in his lower spine and pain killers, to attemp to fix this spine problem. injections cannot change structure, and the relaxants are short term. where the problems arise is that doctors will never ever refer a patient to a chiro, its like a muslim telling his brother to convert to christianity. it just wont happen, so these doctors tell bling and blokes like miller, " we are giving you the best possible treatment, nothing but what we are doing can help , so they believe it" isnt it about time they start asking questions
-
Tambling looked free in his movements at training today although as I mentioned in the training report he wasn't involved in any of the squad drills. He and Cogs spent the whole time at training together running laps, doing 100m runs (no sprints though) and kicking the ball around to each other with Chaffey.
