Richmond has made three changes to its line-up for Thursday night’s big Round 2 clash with Collingwood at the MCG.
Forward Ben Lennon, small defender Jayden Short and midfielder Kane Lambert have forced their way into the side that defeated Carlton by 43 points in the opening round.
The trio was rewarded for displaying good form recently at VFL level.
Lennon kicked a combined total of 10 goals in the Richmond VFL team’s past two pre-season practice matches (against Footscray and Northern Blues), Lambert has been prominent through the midfield, and Short a valuable contributor across the backline.
They replace Sam Lloyd, Taylor Hunt and Kamdyn McIntosh, who have all been omitted.
The Tigers’ three emergencies for the Round 2 match are Hunt, Ivan Maric and Anthony Miles.

Short after no jlt games ? Strange. Mcintosh disposal was very poor can understand that. Although I'd prefer keep mcintosh, short for hunt and no lambert.
-
No Miles ?
Wanted to play in VFL last week , club said no
Lambert shows reasonable form last week and jumps ahead of him
Interesting
-
Short to get the job on fasolo? I think vlastuin will play back this week. Can't see Lennon or lambert playing back
-
The Pies have gone shorter this week with one less ruckman.
Collingwood

F: Alex Fasolo, Darcy Moore, Chris Mayne
Foll: Brodie Grundy, Adam Treloar, Taylor Adams
Int: Tyson Goldsack, James Aish, Tom Phillips, Will Hoskin-Elliott

clearly worried about our run are the pies.
Hoping Grimes can do the job on Fasolo, hell maybe even throw Rance onto him and Grimes can go to Moore if Moore plays high.
Thought Lloyd was a bit stiff - yeah he had a stinker last week but thought he had a few credits in the bank - geez I hope lennon can show something and consolidate
-
is hardwick trying to be Beveridge???????lol

Play McIntosh on the wing!
-
I'm wrapt.
Put everyone on notice- if you don't contribute you will get replaced. Put some pressure on these players that have had it too easy for too long.
Well done Dimma. I don't think you had it in you. :clapping
-
Hunt and Lloyd were around the worst Lars week. They have been chopped. New philosophy or different selecton committee.? Either way I like the signals.
-
Big ticks from everyone on here - must mean we'll lose by 50 :snidegrin
Lloyd and Hunt fair calls. McIntosh turned it over a heap (including a few easy hballs which cost us) but I thought he also broke a few lines. Id have kept him in for balance.
But I'm with the crowd, I like it. :thumbsup
-
You would hope Griffiths can hit the scoreboard tomorrow night, otherwise he will be next to get chopped
-
Surprised Short is playing, didn't see much last game from him although I did only see the second half. I would be playing C Ellis as he is far and above the most talented player in the VFL IMO. It's a shame Houli is still in as I would've liked to see him play instead
I'm surprised Lambert is ahead of Miles.
Anyways I like the ruthlessness.

To bring in Elton? That fellow can't even mark a chesty 5 metres in the clear. :rollin
Stellar recruiting by the club that we have no one screaming for selection for this role. :banghead

Agree with all of that...
-
At least Lennon has been selected when in form ....but Lloyd had some credits in the bank.
-
Brutal but good to see
Right - after you spent the whole week talking up Hunt's game and a year telling everyone Lennon is crap.... if that's not proof that you deliberately post bollocks just to get a reaction, I don't know what is...
-
No one at this level has "credits in the bank" this has been the exact operating basis that has derailed us for years and one of Hardwick's basic idiocies as a coach.
Drop the out of form and play the form, no favorites.
-
Disappointed Miles not included but happy with inclusion of Short. Good chance for Lennon to show what he has got.

Surprised
Pleasantly surprised
-
It's a refreshing and a good start, I could be picky & petty & bitch about who should've come in and who else could've been dropped .....but never thought I'd see the day Halfstep would make an unforced change after a win, let alone three....and two of the new players are younger as well... :clapping

I'd say there at 10 - 15 in our 1's that should be on notice that just one pisspoor performance can result in being dropped. I like it, there's plenty of guys constantly pushing for selection and plenty of guys that need to work v hard each week to maintain their spot. :gotigers

Anyone hear a rumour that Prestia is in some doubt for tomorrow night?

No, but I have now

Anyone hear a rumour that Prestia is in some doubt for tomorrow night?
Yep.
Showed footage on the news that he did not train today.
Said that he did little more than a stroll after warm-up.
May be Miles as a straight swap.

Show some integrity and take ownership of your own words. Put your hand up when you get things wrong.

You can remove my quotes from your signature for starters

I agree with Jackstar, have some integrity Dooks

Now that Chucky has pointed it out, I'm inclined to agree

Makes me think there is more behind his Hampson gushing
-
Would be spewin if Prestia is out, need that depth in the mid. Is he underdone ?
-
Yeah we need Meatball in there.
Someone get some inside word please! I cant take the suspense!
-
Anyone hear a rumour that Prestia is in some doubt for tomorrow night?
Coming back from knee injury plus missed a lot of the work in preseason. Thinking he would be managed over the opening couple of months of the season and slowly build to full training. That or he still has problems and will be on training lite for the full season.
Or he could be injured
-
Lambert over Miles I don't agree with. Especially with it being wet tonight, need Miles in the middle.
Lloyd I would have kept despite an average first game.
Don't mind McIntosh losing his spot but would like to see more of him this year regardless.

Admit you got it wrong and ill remove it.

Miles playing in the 2's so I'm assuming Prestia playing.

Yep, Ch 7 showed Dion arriving at the rooms with Dusty, Rance and co.
-
Oh and who were the nuffers saying "coaches know what they're doing you guys are all internet experts" when a majority of us said Hunt should be dropped. Come on, own up :lol
