Richmond has placed defender Reece Conca on the Club’s long-term injury list.
Conca injured the Lisfranc joint in his foot in the Tigers’ Round 6 loss to Adelaide.
He was required to spend 2-3 weeks in a moon boot, before the injury was re-scanned to determine his recovery and return to weight bearing.
Subsequent scans showed no significant change and he will undergo surgery.
The 24-year-old is expected to miss a further 10 weeks.

So why is the club saying 10 weeks?
-
Will be like a new recruit in 2018
-
So that means we can elevate another rookie doesn't it?

Hammer off soon
Not by what we were told pre-match last week
Still a long way off, no date for his return
And even he does come of the list we were told Nank is way ahead of him, he wont' be taking Nank's spot

From what we got told Doc, when he ups the "ante" training wise it, it flairs again and they are back to square one
Long way off

Interesting that we have four players contracted next year that have long term injury issues and could be/are finished. Namely Yarran, Griff, Conca and Hampson.
Yarrans done but do we pay them all out or carry them on the list for another year? Or will they fall on their sword and retire?

RICHMOND could be forced into a last-minute draft change as the Brisbane Lions seem likely to swoop on the club's preferred midfield target.
The Tigers want Ryan Griffen-like line-breaker Jared Polec at pick No. 6 in the AFL national draft.
However, in a late change of heart, Brisbane is set to steal the Tigers' thunder by grabbing Polec at No. 5, instead of the man the Lions were strongly linked to, half-back Dyson Heppell.
And, rather than take Heppell in a straight swap, it is understood Richmond will pull its own surprise and grab nippy West Australian midfielder Reece Conca.
It was thought Conca would be picked by Fremantle somewhere in the teen calls, possibly as late as selection No. 20.
But Conca's versatility and efficiency by foot, a top priority for Richmond, has propelled the strong-bodied playmaker up the order.
It means smooth-moving Heppell, whose left foot has been likened to that of Luke Hodge, could slide as far as Adelaide at pick No.14, or Geelong at 15.
In another shock, Melbourne could secure its dream draft result and get the key big man it craves. It is believed Gold Coast will let through either ruckman Daniel Gorringe or key forward Tom Lynch to the Dees at pick No. 12.
Melbourne has a glittering young midfield, but needs to bolster its spine.
Instead of taking both key-position players, the Suns are sizing up midfielders Josh Caddy and Dion Prestia, and backman Seb Tape among picks seven, nine, 10 and 11.
Essendon is poised to get its man, speedy inside midfielder Shaun Atley.

SNIP
I've had really crap day so I will try and keep this short, sharp and too the point rather actually saying what I really would like to say :banghead
1. No-one's account was "hacked"
2. The acronym "E.F.A" (edited for accuracy) proves that. It's not the first time's it's been used. If people are so offended by it then we will start removing all "E.F.A" posts commencing now
3. the "e.f.a" posts were clearly posted in jest.... aka an attempt at humour, people can decide for themselves if it was at all funny
4. Site rules and penalties are indeed clear and this includes self administration of said rules, to make a point. Suggest yet again EVERYONE re-read them. They apply to everyone, not a selected few and people cannot pick and chose which one's they believe apply to them
5. A few weeks ago I issued an absolute final warning about abuse, baiting and trolling other posters. This has clearly been ignored. I also said (as we have said endless times) if you have an issue use the bloody "report to moderator" function
6. Finally, in the same post that I said that if people refuse to use the report function and want us to start removing all posts that we deem as baiting, trolling etc we can and will but I doubt people would like..as the old saying goes "be careful what you wish for"

How could he have known about the injuries ? Who knows how good conca would be if he could stay on the park. Anyway ended up with Prestia and caddy lol
-
From Emma Quayle's twitter page:
"Some bits & pieces from the draft. Polec was never in the Tigers' plans, since midyear Conca was the one they wanted..."

Doesn't hus injury history along with others just signal we have a medical and or conditioning problem. We have had for years it seems but maybe we are average? Does anybody know the stats between teams?
-
Richmond is 9th best
-
We've barely had any injuries compared to a lot of teams.
-
We've barely had any injuries compared to a lot of teams.
Agree and those we have had are hardly top end players just average at best.
The only decent player we have lost is Prestia and hes been nowhere near his best anyway.
Over the yrs we have been blessed with the lack of injury to our better players with only Deledio in recent yrs missing big chunks of seasons.
We cwill all know what injuries are if we lose Martin rance and riewoldt for any period hello bottom 4 or even spoon.

That injury has actually improved our team though

Sadly though, not our training

Good point his training performance is an under rated part of his game

I would be surprised if Reece ever played AFL senior footy again.
-
I'd be more disappointed....
-
I'd suggest that Conca's absence destroys Hardwicks gameplan.

Is the injury that severe ?

If he needs surgery, it indicates it is severe. Any surgery on the midfoot for a Lisfranc injury in a game called football is bad news. The only thing on his side is that he is still relatively young but he'll need a lot of rehab. It is an injury that has ended a few players careers.

Dane Swan springs to mind

I already mentioned a few players careers it ended when the injury came to light, said the initial 3(?) weeks was most likely a lie
