Richmond spearhead Jack Riewoldt says teammates and fans must ‘move on’ after close losses

RICHMOND spearhead Jack Riewoldt understands the pain of losing three straight games by a total of 10 points.
He has lived it.
But despite a trio of gut-wrenching defeats, he has implored Richmond supporters to ‘move on’ ahead of the club’s Round 10 clash against Essendon.
“I know that it’s a bitter pill for our supporters to swallow, but they are the facts,” Riewoldt said on Fox Footy’s AFL 360.
“Deal with it, because we have and we are looking forward to this week.”
The Tigers were 5-0 but have lost four consecutive matches, including three nailbiters.
Having reviewed Saturday evening’s game against GWS in which Damien Hardwick’s men gave up a 25-point three quarter-time lead, the two-time best and fairest is now focused on helping his younger teammates concentrate on Dreamtime at the G’.
“There is no point for me, to play my best footy on Saturday night against a different opposition, to worry about what happened last week,” he said.
“I have to pick myself up as a leader and be on top of other guys.
“You know what, the sun rose the next day, we are five and four and have learned some lessons. We’ve lost by less than a kick the last three games. We could be sitting on top of the ladder and a game clear. But that’s not the case.
“That’s part of leadership.”
Fellow AFL 360 guest and Melbourne midfielder Jordan Lewis shared Riewoldt’s sentiment, stressing how critical ‘moving on’ is regardless of what transpires on the weekend.
“The quicker you can move on from a win or a loss, the better you hopefully perform the next week,” he said in reference to the Demons 14-point loss to North Melbourne on Sunday.
“People who have never been involved in a results based sport or game, will never understand it. You just can’t get emotional about it.
“By the time you get in the car on a Monday, you are basically moving onto the next game. People say you shouldn’t, they say you should dwell on it a little longer. It doesn’t help you as an athlete.”

From "steep learning curve" after the freo loss to 'just move on, nothing to dwell on' after the Gws loss...
Anyone else the feeling the club and the players have NO idea what they are doing?

Really like Jack in leadership group, tells it how it is without spin

Stuffen kick straight Jack and we won't need to move on!
Missed critical shots in the last 2 weeks.

What short memories people have. He also kicked a bag in the wet to win the Melb game for us. For someone who always takes the best defender and also has to run to HB to be a tall target at times Jack is doing more than his fair share in trying to help us bank 4 points week in week out
