Smallest team in history
And coming up against a potentially tall side.....
-
Back to playing Grigg in the ruck.
-
What happens if Nankervis gets injured in the first 5 mins? 😱
-
Can't bomb it long this week...
Need to almost soccer it into the forward line.... :rollin
-
Should have been a straight swap George out for Lennon.
-
Don't like it. I know Elton is not the long term answer but how about Lennon or trying Choi. Against Goldstien who played something like 95 percent game time last week this is nuts. Do we remember what happened last time we tried this against the Crows. Lost at selection.

North Melbourne's team for those interested.

Int: Luke McDonald, Ryan Clarke, Shaun Atley, Mason Wood

Better option than Elton (sadly)
-
Smallest team in history
Got some serious pace about us though, particularly up forward.

Yep...fast footy is the go :thumbsup
-
So we're just going to run every goal in while North's defenders are busy triple-teaming Riewoldt?

Cunning plan Baldrick!
-
"Baldrick, you wouldn't recognise a subtle plan if it painted itself purple and danced naked on a harpsicord singing 'subtle plans are here again'."
Difference be between a subtle plan and a simply a wrong plan.

Given where we are playing having a small side is not such a disadvantage as it would be on other grounds. Plus it is a bonus having a quick side. To win this game our forward pressure has to be top notch.

Be Fair. Selecting Lennon or Choi as a key forward or ruck is a long shot at best.
The list is a joke and we all knew it after the trade and draft periods.
Blame the right people.

The coaches have done a remarkable job considering what they've got to work with.

So you partly blame Hardwick for poor list selections on one hand and then praise him as doing a remarkable coaching job on the other?

Please refer to the "Sack Hardwick" thread for the answers

I actually don't mind going into this game a bit smaller than usual, especially with our lack of decent talls, but we also need a different plan than usual. If we continue to just kick it long and high into our forward (singular) then the North talks will dominate us.
Imo it's the difference between our coach and Berverage from the Doggies. Each time they pick a different side, they change their plan. It doesn't always work but at least he doesn't just let sh"t happen.
I'm really looking forward to see if we learned anything from the Adelaide game when we went in small.
stuff I hate North and I'd like to pump them.

Yep. Ageee with all that. Will be very interesting to see how we adjust.
-
Goldstein rucked 97% of the game last week
Will do the same tonight
That's if he plays 😉
-
Bomber Grigg alone will undermine our gameplan....
-
Watch Houli crap himself again.

I don't mind going smaller up forward, but we have to have a second ruck option. There are rumours that Goldstein might not be playing, so maybe it might not hurt us as much.
My concern is that in going smaller, I'd like to have seen a bit more grunt added around the packs. I am amazed that Miles wasn't brought in for this game.
-
So all our goals are going to be dribble goals then I take it
-
Simple get the 4 pts anyway and any how and a 4 qtr effort we need to break this hoodoo against this mob.
-
Taylor Hunt didn't play in the VFL game apparently. So he's the spare 23rd man.
As far as team selection goes, are we going to play differently tonight and copy North's flooding back gameplan leaving the F50 wide open for all our small forwards to run into on the counter? It's going to be hard seeing us winning if we press up as usual with our F50 congested and our mids just bombing the ball long inside 50 with Jack our only tall marking forward :-\.
