Craig McRae's summary of our AFL-listed players from Saturday’s Round 11 VFL win over Essendon.
AFL LISTED PLAYERS
Taylor Hunt
33 disposals, five marks, three tackles, one goal.
Continues his great form at VFL level. He’s been one of our best players in recent weeks and today he really looked strong off half-back and used the ball really well. A complete game from him.

Oh look last week with Houli out we really missed that player who can turn it over the back half and gift goals to the opposition....."

I know hunt isn't the way forward and I am disappointed but it looks like they're really just rewarding form simple as that. Plus may be a last chance for hunt to see if he's worth keeping on the list ?

They really need another look to work that out?

Well personally I'd keep him coz you gotta have some players just for depth and I think he's well suited for that.

List-clogging duds aren't "depth".....

Hunt and the other Hunt, Caddy.
Combined metres gained - 1.3

Fantastic - I can fill in the senior report
Panic merchant who rushes his disposal at the highest level and thus turns it over regularly.
Do people think it was a coincidence that we didnt gift many turnover goals with one less panic merchant in the side last week?

There's a difference between depth and the bottom of the barrel
-
Much prefer to keep Markov in the team.

Morris & Conca hopefully back in time to join Houli & Hunt for another Elimination Final "thriller".......:clapping :gotigers :clapping

Maybe he'll get knocked out in the first minute.

I'm not sure Miles would agree with your first statement

That's at least 3 - 4 goals that saints will get they would've got now that hunt is in the team.

That's a point. But from what I've heard it's more that miles runs defensively lets him down in selection.

Those photos must have resurfaced.... ::)

Has his kicking improved guys Hunt ? for guys who watch vfl.
-
Can't believe Lloyd keeps getting a game be nice if Lennon was given same opportunity.
-
I'm surprised at Hunts inclusion but Markov did stink the joint up on the weekend and didn't deserve to retain his place.

you really dont get it do ya. How old are ya bud. Depth means a bloke who can come in and perform to an acceptable AFL level!!!!!!
At the level Hunt has shown hes a bum so often it aint funny.
-
what a shambles.
-
Hunts had a go, not sure why we are revisiting this one.
Lloyd was putrid for 2-3 games in a row but survived the chop, why drop markov after one bad game? He'll be better for the run and id back him in to improve on last start.
Coaches no doubt thinking Hunt to play on Gresham or Billings, which is a mistake imo, both those players are far too smart for Hunt who is one of the dumber footballers going around

I like it
Having had a crap day....
The collective meltdown across all spectrums of social media has given me something to laugh about this evening

Sad Miles, Batch and Lennon don't get the same luxury...
-
I agree Markov was very poor against Port Adelaide but to be replaced by Hunt is a poor decision. If they were determined to drop Markov there were other players in front of Hunt who deserved a recall in particular Miles. To bring in Hunt is a backward step.

They are doing something bigger than just promoting Hunt.
They are sending a message to all the players.
Perform well at VFL level and you will be rewarded.

Tell that to Miles who has been starring all year. Not the message at all unfortunately. How many times do we play someone senior to find out they are just good enough at the top level? Juniors at least can improve. I doubt Hunt can.

Please enlighten me, what are Prestias advantages over Miles?
-
I revisited the round 1 stats to uncover reasons why Hunt got the flick after 1 game .
0 tackles . Only player not to lay a tackle.
Lloyd and McIntosh also got dropped - they had one tackle a peice
Hunt also had 1 kick and 8 handballs in that opening match .
He also muffed an easy mark in the opening minute..

There is absolutely no reason why we couldn't have brought Bolton back in even if Marcov had to go!
What is wrong with a backline of
Grimes Rance Short
Astbury McIntosh Ellis
Rotate the small forward on a wing and hopefully Rioli might be able to get a few kicks and some confidence.
Especially with Vlastuin coming back in soon.

Will give people the benefit of the doubt in this instance rather than dishing out 3 suspensions >:(

If he has to come in play a stopping game on billings

Miles is 23rd man. He and Maric aren't playing for our ressies today.

But it is a cunning plan

Reckon Miles would be a good in tonight. Contested footy will decide the game
