He will be fine but he should cope a week for being a dog :thumbsdown

The media are going on about Dusty retaliating to Nick Robertson trying to deliberately knee him and after all game punching Dusty in the back. The media is alleging Dusty got Robertson high and poked him in the eye.
Does Dusty have anything to worry about from the MRP?
-
Insufficient force or a fine IMHO.

Here's the vision:

Agree
Look forward to seeing if the media carry on about staging on this one
-
He didn't make contact with his nose! That Robertson can go EAD
-
Ill be peeed off, the media milking it for all it is worth, stuffing drama queens.
-
Wait till Barrett gets on his high horse...
-
The fact it's even being discussed is comical but I guess Dusty and Richmond sell papers. Yet this jerk throws headbutts and knees and isn't get half the air time Dusty is
-
If the AFL kick him out for that this competition is rooted for ever
-
I only saw the opposite angle and did he even get him in the eye? Robertson went off and had no treatment and didn't look to suffer any of the issues that typically go with a poke in the eye.

ANALYSIS: Inconclusive vision set to clear Dusty
afl.com.au
17 July 2017
A LACK of conclusive vision should prevent the Match Review Panel from guessing and handing Dustin Martin a suspension that would rule him out of 2017 Brownlow Medal calculations.
Martin is being scrutinised on Monday for making potentially high contact to opponent Nick Robertson in Sunday's clash against the Brisbane Lions at Etihad Stadium with a swinging left arm.
The evidence in front of the panel includes inconclusive match-day vision, front-on photos that show contact to the neck with an open hand and, eventually, a medical report from the Lions.
Depending on the results of that medical report, it is certainly not enough to justify a one-match penalty.
It is not enough to justify suggestions that Martin made contact to Robertson's eye in a similar fashion to St Kilda defender Jimmy Webster two weeks ago. The two actions are not in the same ballpark.
The available vision from Sunday's match shows Martin approaching Robertson from behind and making potentially high contact, initially around the Lion's neck.
It is not possible to determine the exact point of impact, however, from the match-day vision understood to be available to the MRP.
There are also photos that show Martin with an open hand around the point of impact on Robertson's neck, but whether his hand had slid higher is unclear.
Those photos – which are favourable to Martin – should be crucial in the MRP's decision, given the lack of video evidence.
If the MRP decides Martin has made high contact, it has only two options – to suspend him for one match or to throw the case out because there was insufficient force.
There is no room for the leading Brownlow Medal contender to be fined if contact is high, given the likely grading of intentional conduct for an off-the-ball swing of the arm.
The Tigers should be confident their superstar midfielder will be cleared on Monday afternoon because of insufficient force.
Robertson's reaction in going to ground clutching at his face complicates the matter, but a Lions' medical report might still work in Martin's favour.
It is one of the few pieces of evidence the MRP will be able to treat with any certainty.

Dustin Martin can accept $1000, rough conduct LTaylor and also accept $1500, unnecessary contact with open hand to face of NRobertson.
Nick Robertson can accept 1 game, headbutting Trent Cotchin and can also accept $1500, kneeing Dustin Martin.
Nick Robertson cleared contact with knee to TCotchin. Force used in the contact was below that required for a report. No further action.

Lol. Just like I suspected....
-
The coverage this 'incident' got was ridiculous, absolutely nothing in it
-
:gobdrop what is happening to our game...pathetic stuff!
-
what a joke
-
Dusty had every right to Barry Hall that knobhead
-
On that view there is no way they can say he even touched his face let alone poked him in the eye. Trouble is that if you contest it you might get a week. So its take the "you did it" and the fine or fight the good fight and possibly get a week. Stupid system if you ask me.
-
Any proof he even poked that potato in the eye? Footage is inconclusive but it certainly doesn't look like he did.
-
It was sexist

there is no way Dusty's fist made that #insaneconnection

While Martin escaped suspension for making unreasonable and unnecessary contact to the face of Nick Robertson, he will be walking a tightrope for the rest of the season after being fined for separate incidents by the MRP.
The midfielder will be suspended for one match – and ruled ineligible for the Brownlow Medal – if he commits a third low-level offence this season after also being charged with rough conduct on Brisbane Lion Lewis Taylor on Monday.
Martin was fined $1000 for his bumping Taylor behind play in the opening minute of the game, and $1500 for making "unreasonable and unnecessary contact with an open hand" to Robertson's face.
The MRP graded the second offence as careless conduct with low impact to the head after deciding the open-handed action was not a strike but remained significant enough to draw a charge.

MRP lotto on show again
Take the fines and move on
-
I'd like to see a shot of bruising on Dustys back and a kidney scan. Absolute disgrace, the provocation that umpires (and by association the AFL ignore is shocking.
-
The vicious little prick gets a week for a concerted assault designed to distract, exhaust and injure two of our players? Bout right.
-
Dusty has accepted his 2 fines and is free to play this week

I enjoyed the niggle between those two. It was a hell of a lot more interesting than the actual game.
Dusty deserves a fair bit of credit for the way he deals with this sort of stuff. He just expects it as part of the game and gets the footy.
Dusty is a blood star and makes those sort of games bearable with what he can do.
-
How did Dusty get a fine for knocking Taylor over???
There was a free kick paid, that was penalty enough.

Different to Martins force how?
Whole thing is a joke. Bloke runs over to bump Martin who goes to wrap his arms around him and (questionably) gets him in the chin with a open hand that had insufficient force. They only did something because of all the coverage it got...
