Title: Luke Hodge/Sam Mitchell
Post by: MintOnLamb on July 24, 2017, 10:17:42 PM
Should we look at getting either or both of these blokes involved in the coaching/list management at RFC in 2018?

I thought part of the deal with Mitchell moving West was a coaching gig under Simpson .

Hodge yes.....though word is that he wants at least a year off from football and probably a role in the media first.

Mitchell went to West Coast on the promise of coaching role after this year, so doubt he'd then turn aound and go to another club.

Johnson is the other one I want...was set to join this year but then decided to play one more season. Heard we're frontrunners to get him for next year and there's already been a tacit agreement..... :shh

Mitchell signed a 4 year contract with West Coast.

Hodge  :thumbsup

Sounds great in theory because he played a certain way.
You'd hope that this would reflect in his coaching philosophies like say Lee Matthews.
I think a former player that could instil a great culture of uncompromising commitment to winning.

Then again you might get a charlatan like Hardwick that likes softies and rewards them for participating with cuddles and backslapping.

I think Hodge would bring an interesting dimension to our club which would be a great challenge for our players and coaching staff.

As others have said Mitchell going to the Eagles was because it includes a coaching role once he stops playing. the way Simpson is travelling it maybe sooner than planned  :rollin

Hodge - a massive yes but can't see it happening in 2018

and as for Stevie J, a massive no thanks from me. His 'efforts' and that of his protégé on the weekend reinforced my no thanks to Stevie J...

Yes at the age of 34 he played shyte and his " protégé" punched a bloke in the head, so obviously he'll just forget about imparting any of his unparalleled football nouse & knowledge or what it takes to win three flags and a Norm Smith onto our playing group and instead will just teach them how to play shyte and punch blokes in the head....
