WHILE the development of the Mildura South Regional Sporting Precinct has the support of many local athletes and sporting groups, it has also attracted the attention of Richmond Football Club.
The $36.5 million proposed facility, to be built on the corner of Sixteenth Street and Deakin Avenue, has the backing of the AFL club, which has indicated to Mildura Council it would welcome and use such a facility.
The club has expressed interest in playing pre-season matches in Mildura, in effect significantly boosting the city’s profile.

Perfect? Umm NO, >:(
Great playing surface
But average amenities for fans especially in extreme weather conditions
Yesterday was rain.
There is no seating, no stand, very few areas undercover. Few permanent toilets.
Most of the toilets were portable and to get to them you had to trek through the mud
As for the carpark I won't even go there. But at least the bloke on hand to pull people out of the bog had plenty to do
So flip it summer or early autumn when it is hot.... same issues applies except the carpark of course
So IMHO for a spectator perspective it shouldn't host AFL practice games and I'd question even AFLW games
I know the locals are proud of the venue but even they were questioning with all the $$$ spent by council why didn't they listen to residents who said it needed seating and undercover areas
