Title: Biggest game in 22 years - who wins?
Post by: Hard Roar Tiger on September 06, 2017, 07:27:29 AM
Well this is it lads, the biggest game since duck tore us one in the '95 qually.
Who wins, why?
One the 1 hand, the Cats sheer record of butt poundings sees a likely win lead by Dangerwood with cameos from players like Motlop, Guthrie and Taylor who normally go missing when they are at their most vulnerable.
On the other hand, can we elevate our pressure game to a finals intensity and kick straight for goal when on the turnover?

Even if we are ahead by 5 goals in last quarter with 5 minutes left to play I don't think any one here would feel safe.

I'm not a believer at all because they've made me that way.

I hope they change my mind.  :pray

Every now and then a team comes out and unexpectedly totally dismantles the opposition and everything they touch turns to gold, I wish the Tigers could have one of those games on Friday.

We have a special needs team playing in finals again.

They even got a double chance because they were so wacko last year.

Lol

one word, Stevic, game decided by dodgy umpiring, 5 goal loss.  Maybe a punter will throw a shoe and put his eye out and the emergency ump will take over and give us a fair go...not hopeful.

Must watch for the Cats who just hold players back in defense guarding space so when we kick long we cannot run onto the ball much like did against the Saints.
That is why the half forwards need to be actively leading at the football.
This is the biggest test of Hardwick's coaching career as he has been flogged most times against Chris Scott.  How he reacts in the box if things aren't gong well will be critical.

I reckon we will win.
Just see a belief in the team which might deliver something special.
People don't rate Hardwick, and as a tactician, its with good reason.
He's across it and has a unique opposition analyst/tactician in Caracella.

What people under estimate is the bond across the playing group and the support for the coach.
You don't have to like it but you gotta respect it.

They are at one as a unit which cannot be under estimated.
