SPREAD THE WORD.
Lets see every seat taken, 100,000 screaming rabid tiger supporters to give EVERYTHING to get our boys over the line.
Leave NOTHING as a supporter at the ground.
I want this game to be talked about as the game we won to go onto win our 11th flag, but also as the most intimidating and LOUD afl crowd in history.
When the Giants run on, let's make it the loudest boo in history. SPREAD THE WORD.
Everyone wear only yellow or black. Bring all your gear. Your banners, your flags. If you don't have one, make one or buy one.
Tell your tiger family and mates and tell them to pass it on. Get the word out.
UNITE AS ONE

Absolutely critical to make the environment as pro Richmond as possible. The players feed off the energy from the crowd. Need to show as much support as possible.

Let's hear the roar, Tiger fans!

Could Richmond fans enter the Guinness World Records book on Saturday night?
With over 95,000 Tigers fans expected to flock to the MCG for the preliminary final clash with Greater Western Sydney, Garry, Tim and Hamish have laid down the gauntlet to the yellow and black army to provide the loudest roar of all time.
Currently, the loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium is held by the fans of the Kansas City Chiefs when they achieved a 142.2 dbA during their win over the New England Patriots in September 2014.
“We'll go down to the Richmond cheer squad end – the Punt Road end – and when its gets to the ‘yellow and black’ in the theme song, that is your chance Richmond supporters to be a chance of history,” former Melbourne skipper Garry Lyon said.
“If Dusty runs in and kicks the first goal, the roar (will be deafening).
“Richmond supporters, you have a chance to say ‘we are the loudest supporting group in the world, we have just pumped the Kansas City Chiefs supporters’.”
The title of the loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium has changed hands a few times over the past decade.
Turkish soccer club Galatasaray held the record at 131.76 dbA in March 2011 before being overtaken by the Seattle Seahawks (136.6 dbA) during their win over the San Francisco 49ers in September 2013.
The Chiefs then took the mantle 28 days later, registering 137.5 dbA in a win over the Oakland Raiders, only to see the Seahawks reclaim the mark with a 137.6 dbA in a 34-7 rout of the New Orleans Saints.
Such was the noise generated by the Seahawks crowd, it registered as a minor earthquake (between a magnitude 1 and 2), according to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network.

AFL website reporting that GWS members bought 3000 tickets for the game.
Could easily be 90,000 Tigers there.

We're in their heads already about the crowd size and noise :thumbsup.

Wonder if the crowd will still drown out their theme song with ours if we lose, like we did to Geelong after the '95 PF.....?....
-
TIM Taranto could not agree more with his coach Leon Cameron - this GWS side are “born to play at the MCG”.

So far we've had from GWS:
1) We don't care about the noise from the Tiger Army but we've been training with speakers playing loud music.
2) We don't care about the game being played at the M.C.G. but we need to tell everyone we can play there.
We're in their heads :yep :thumbsup.

Tiger Army worth four goals - at least - against GWS in preliminary final

IF a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?
If Greater Western Sydney wins this year’s premiership and there is no one there to see it, will it actually happen?
These are philosophical times in the AFL as Greater Western Sydney (David) prepare to tackle Richmond (Goliath) in front of 95,000 plus at the MCG on Saturday, with a spot in the grand final on offer.
On Monday, when public tickets were sold out for the second preliminary final, just over 3000 were purchased by Giants fans.
Given their lack of support at last weekend’s home final, when fewer than 15,000 watched GWS smash the West Coast Eagles at Spotless Stadium in the AFL’s last frontier in Sydney’s wild west, it is fair to assume most of those supporters will be expatriate Sydney-siders now residing in Melbourne.
While Giants’ fans were as scarce as an AFL scarf in Homebush when tickets went on sale, more than 75,000 Richmond members snapped up seats at the ’G at the startling rate of 1200 per minute.
That’s Adele-esque.
A record 95,028 watched the Tigers beat Geelong in the first week of finals and the majority were wearing yellow and black. But it’s not so much the crowd size that’s important, rather the noise they will make.
Tigers’ fans are the loudest – by the length of Punt Road – in the competition.
There’ll be players who won’t hear the umpire’s whistle; there’ll be umpires who won’t hear each other talk.
GWS in full flight might represent an orange tsunami on the field, but it’s an entirely different story off it.
This will be a crowd that will be ALL yellow and black and if you squint and really concentrate you will spot a sprinkling of orange rind dotted about the terraces.
The off-field mismatch is worth four goals on the field. At least.
The Giants even had speakers with crowd noise turned up full volume at training this week to try and mimic the atmosphere their players will encounter on Saturday.
The thing about Tiger fans is, by and large, they are not all that respectful of the mob they are playing. So it won’t be much of a chill zone for the Giants.
Richmond supporters take no prisoners, including their own.
There was even a story on Channel 7 this week about a Tigers’ fan this week who named his son Richmond. Poor kid. Never really had a chance.

Richmond members have snapped up 44,000 public tickets and 10,000 from the AFL, but that is only the start of the swell expected to fill the 100,000-seat stadium.
The AFL revealed yesterday it has sold 1254 public tickets to Giants members and 500 to AFL members who claim allegiance to the orange army.

Massive crowd will only help Richmond: Ox
By Justin Talent

David Schwarz believes the huge 95,000-strong crowd at the MCG for Saturday’s preliminary final between Richmond and the GWS Giants can only assist the Tigers.
Despite considering Richmond to have “grown up” in their ability to handle big pressure games this year, two-time Geelong premiership coach Mark “Bomber” Thompson raised the prospect of the mega crowd – who will mainly be donned in the yellow and black – working against the Tigers.
“It can work both ways for Richmond… I’ve seen it bring them home and I’ve seen it sort of scare the players to the point where they don’t feel like playing,” he told Fox Footy’s AFL 360 yesterday.
However Schwarz dismissed this possibility, saying that from his past experiences playing in front of huge crowds, the roar the Tigers fans will generate will be a great help to their side.
“It won’t work against them. It can only help,” the former Melbourne forward told SEN’s The Run Home.
“I’ve played a lot of footy at the G and had big crowds on our side and bigger crowds against us. The noise that came when you played a big Essendon crowd, a big Richmond crowd, a huge Collingwood crowd or a big Carlton crowd is deafening. You hear everything, it’s very unique.
“There’s no doubt that when 95,000 fans are cheering for one team, I can just imagine the Richmond players, how much energy it will give them. They will be walking on air.
“I don’t think it can be a negative in any way unless they start believing it rather than doing what they’re doing all season.
“It helps with the umpires too.”
The AFL have today updated their expected crowd attendance for Saturday’s game to fall somewhere between 95,000 and 97,000 people.
Reports earlier this week suggested that Giants supporters have bought approximately only 2000 tickets to the game – with the match expected to have the biggest difference of supporter numbers in attendance in the competition’s history.

1. The Tiger army didn't disappoint
The hysteria surrounding Richmond's advantage in the supporter stakes raged to historic levels during the week and they certainly brought the noise to the MCG. The Giants were greeted with thunderous boos as they entered the arena, but the Tiger fans didn't find full voice until the yellow and black emerged form beneath the stands. Kane Lambert's goal 23 seconds into the preliminary final just about brought down the Great Southern Stand, and the atmosphere never dropped away, apart from the silence that followed each GWS goal. They had some nervous moments in the first half but went into full party mode when Richmond seized control of the match with six goals to one in the premiership term. Rest and recovery will be just as important for the fans this week as it will be for their heroes. The post-match scenes were stunning.

Richmond fans make more noise than a jet when Tigers booted early goal
Herald Sun
September 23, 2017 5:33pm
JET aeroplanes make an incredible rumble, but even they are not as loud as the Tiger Army in full voice.
The MCG shook on Saturday evening when Richmond made a pulsating start to its AFL preliminary final with the GWS Giants.
The Tigers fans gave their side an incredible reception as they entered the arena, and two goals inside two minutes had them nearing record levels.
“ ... we have the decibel metre out hovering around 120db,” Channel 7’s Cameron Ling reported at the quarter time break.
“It has landed at 122 db — just below a jet aeroplane — and just above the AC/DC and the Back in Black Tour, it was pumping.
“Trust me, these players will not be able to hear anything and communicate. They need to work together. But they can’t do it through yelling.”
