Richmond forward becoming sought-after goalsneak

Richmond forward Sam Lloyd is shaping as a sought-after goalsneak this trade period, as the high-leaping forward lies forgotten in the VFL - and Essendon is leading the chase for his services.
The 27-year-old has been squeezed out of the Tigers' side in preference for the club's mosquito fleet, featuring Dan Butler, Daniel Rioli, Kane Lambert and out-of-form Jason Castagna.
Lloyd has impressed in the VFL and looms as the likely replacement if the Tigers' selection committee loses faith in Castagna.
Lloyd averages 33 disposals and more than two goals in his last month of state league footy, which includes a dominant 48-disposal, four-goal haul against Sandringham in August.
Comparatively, Castagna has accrued 20 disposals and a goal in his last four matches.
But interest is swirling around Lloyd's playing future, with some Melbourne-based clubs, including Essendon, expressing interest in the talented forward.
Lloyd, who has played 50 games since 2014, is contracted until 2018.
The Tigers' depth, evident with the reserves playing off in this week's VFL grand final against Port Melbourne, is a talent stock that could be heavily tapped by rivals.

It's amazing that when the whole team performs well, players who were thought of as fringe 22 with no worth last year, suddenly are looked at as valuable players. :shh

Bit too slow for me, but he's definitely a strong-bodied small. Would rather see him out there than Castagna despite the leg speed it would cost us...

Yep! Funny seeing supporters/other clubs wanting to pay a hefty price for a 2nd string player because they can perform acceptably in a good team. Think Jesse White :lol
