Reece Conca likely to be a casualty in Tigers’ premiership fallout
The Australian
October 2, 2017
The player fallout from Richmond’s premiership will not be huge, but utility Reece Conca is expected to be a casualty.
The West Australian is contracted at Punt Road for another year, but The Australian believes he could request a trade back to Perth, with Fremantle his most likely destination. The Dockers appear certain to lose Hayden Crozier to the Western Bulldogs.
Conca, who has had a terrible run with injuries over the past three seasons, celebrated with premiership players in the rooms after Saturday’s grand final but spent his final few games this season in the VFL after resuming from a serious foot injury. He has managed just 15 of a possible 70 games since the start of 2015.
He played the first six rounds this year, for five wins, but none since. Conca was the sixth overall selection in the 2010 national draft and has played 86 games.
The other midfielder likely to seek an opportunity elsewhere next year is former Greater Western Sydney player Anthony Miles, who also finished this season in the VFL grand final.
The out-of-contract Miles, who has played 60 games for the Tigers after 10 in his first two seasons with the Giants, found it hard to break into the line-up this season and played just five senior games.
The Tigers have 10 players out of contract including premiership players Jason Castagna, who is set to be offered a new two-year extension to stay, and Jacob Townsend, who will be offered a new one-year contract at least.
Other Richmond players out of contract include Jake Batchelor, Taylor Hunt, Todd Elton, Ben Lennon, Steven Morris, Ivan Soldo and Tyson Stengle.

Keep Batch and Stengle.

Batch is a lock to keep, was unlucky this year with injuries but will slot right back in next year

Time to cut our losses with Conca . Surely he's way behind the likes of Short , Broad and Markov now.
We backed the wrong horse , move on .

Would have taken Pavlich, never wanted Farnklin (don't care how good a footballer he is)
