Premiers Richmond are sitting in a strong list position after investing in the NAB AFL Draft rather than reloading with experience for 2018.
Only five clubs – the Brisbane Lions, Carlton, Gold Coast, North Melbourne and St Kilda – have younger lists than the Tigers, with ruckman Shaun Hampson the only player who will enter the season aged 30 or older.
After entering 2017 having played 65 finals collectively – compared to Hawthorn's 313 and Sydney's 267 – last year's premiership run has given the Tigers 114 games of September experience.

Jon Ralph in the Herald-Sun has us with the 7th youngest list:
---------------------
PREMIERS Richmond will remain in the premiership sweet spot next year with the seventh-youngest list and only one player over 30.
The Western Bulldogs’ fall from grace after their 2016 premiership will have the Tigers desperate to avoid complacency.
Still, they could scarcely be better placed after an exceptional draft that saw them secure four highly-fancied players early in the draft to add to a balanced list.
Richmond is the seventh-youngest list in the competition, has 16 players in the 25-29 bracket (ranked equal third), and the equal-least players over 30.
Shaun Hampson will be 30 by Round 1, with the Tigers boasting 16 players in the 21-24 age bracket which indicates players about to mature.
The Tigers’ stars are in the right demographic given Dustin Martin is 26, Trent Cotchin 27, Alex Rance 28 and Jack Riewoldt 29.

This is a really pleasing fact.
-
In this situation, the right question is to ask "what would Claw think".
-
Middling side with middling age profile.

Melbourne still way ahead of us..... :rollin

Obviously the most important age related stat is where your best players are at.
-
so there is some development and upside to look forward to? hope for us yet...

How many of our 21 to 24 are future guns.?
Rioli
Who else? I'm not having a dig I just haven't looked up the 16.

Vlastuin is great. Hopefully Ellis will be better off with a preseason under his belt and can force his way back into the side. Graham, although not in that age bracket looks fantastic already.

Despite one site expert vehemently disagreeing I think Rioli has the potential to be elite

I think that's a pretty good point but we've still got at least 7 years to enjoy Dusty, Cotch for at least 3 or 4 and Rance for perhaps that many as well.
Plus, if we haul in a "big fish" over trade period we're looking good.
