Good idea. :) I'd wear shoes though, no idea how the Flintstones made it go with bare feet.

look mate, u can criticise the messenger or u can have a real crack at making a difference!
-
Wasn't criticising. Didn't even cross my mind to. :)
Out of interest, what alternatives?
-
Yes for once I used my shopper docket voucher and filled up on Tuesday for $1.09 a litre to avoid the Easter hike.
-
Just reading the herald sun up here on the net, cant believe that petrol is so expensive down there in Melb.
The two weeks that i have been in Qld it hasnt gone past about $1.14
There is absolutely no justification for 20 cents difference between 2 states.
The government is a disgrace and something has to be done, the sad thing is that i think people are just happy to keep paying for it no matter what the price.
-
Doesn't the Queensland government provide some petrol discount that the other states don't?
-
Yep MT, 8.354 cents per litre. :thumbsup
Paid for by all banana-benders who pay tax. You never get something for nothing. 8)

Cheers FF :thumbsup. Yeah I thought it was around 8 cents.
-
In UK they are paying about $2.40 per litre, we have a long way to go yet
-
To be fair, most cars in the UK are 2.0 litres and under, so you do not really notice.
But on the other hand, it costs me $270 AU to park outside the front of my house, $20 AU every time I pass into central london, and insurance is roughly $2500 AU a year.
Of course, you could opt to use public transport which averages out at $20 a day for a one hour journey to move 10 km.
On an aside, I was in Madrid the other day. There are 4 million people and 3 million cars in that city. NUTS.
-
Isn't thet Congestion charge ridiculous mate? 20 bucks a day just to drive around the city
We had a diesel when we were there and got 40mpg, that was some consolation
-
i'm tired of u whinging poms, general, if its so good over there, why dont u get on the next boat. must rankle u having to hang with us convicts!

Which means you will be flying very soon - probably the last thing i would like to be doing at the moment.
Maybe get totally stoned and you won't have a worry in the world lol
Would like to see a terrorist take you on anyhow - they might have met their match lol
Of course i mean that in the nicest possible way :-)
Have a great flight and tell us about how much security was at LA
-
cheers love.
Leave in a few hours.
-
If it's any comfort, you're probably flying at the right time. There is so much security and alertness, I'd be feeling pretty happy about that :thumbsup
Was thinking of all my phobias the other day and flying would be up there - haven't flown for about six years - yep, a wimp lol.
Unfortunately, I might be going up to Cape York next year for a hol, might have to face my demons then :pray
Cheers kiddo!
-
Long weekend - petrol prices through the roof :banghead
-
And I had to fill up today, otherwise I wouldn't be getting far next time :banghead

And again in the next few days :-X

Petrol is $126.9 in Sunraysia now. But I once had a heated talk with my elder brother who is in Lara. And he was whinging about the price he had to pay for petrol as he had to drive to Werribee for work each day. And at that time the petrol was 10 to 15 cent cheaper than here. I told him that it was him how decided to live where he is so he should stop whinging about the price of it. So really we don't care if the petrol prices go up as now we are paying the same price as Melbourne. So we are use to paying out heaps at the bouser each time we fill up. ::)
-
$1.34 in time for Easter ::)

MOTORISTS will regularly pay $1.50 a litre for petrol within a week, experts warn, leaving cash-strapped families with less to spend on groceries, meals and travel.
The grim forecast came as the cost of crude oil hit a record $US100 a barrel yesterday.
Motoring group NRMA said motorists should prepare for a rise of between five to seven cents a litre.
"Your average is going to come up around the $1.50 mark, while in the country, you're going to see them come up to the mid-$1.50 (range), NRMA president Alan Evans said.

-
It was heading towards $100 anyway but all thanks to a couple of traders with huge egos who wanted to be the first to trade oil for $100. They traded the minimum contract just to get their 15 seconds of fame ::).

And that is about what it cost me to fill up today - I use Vortex @ 1.52 it cost 94 to fill the tank :banghead
We better find a solution to this fuel situation soon otherwise everyone will be u know ;D

Speaking of cash-strapped families....i dont think there are any out my way, the store i work in beat budget by $200,000 in the week leading up to christmas and since christmas has been flat out again........where do they get the money????
-
Work in Toorak 2JD? ;D
Petrol was around 1.38-1.43 today. I filled up yesterday and then reckon I used most of it in travelling across the West Gate car park :scream. It was a hell of a lot quicker getting into the city going via Yarraville and Footscray Rd on the way back.
-
We were in Adelaide visiting our son who has moved over there for Xmas. On arriving there we filled up and it was $131 a litre so that wasn't to bad. Our daughter came down the next day but failed to fill up so we had to do that on our way out.
Our son said that there was a servo just a couple of turns up the road so we went into that so she coud fill up. That cost her $145 a litre, but the worse thing was about a mile or two up the road was a servo with petrol for the price we paid.
So I don't understand how they can do this. If we lived there We would have known about this I would think.
But we know if you go to Adelaide you should always fill up before getting to Elishabeth as the petrol is cheaper by far a little way out.
-
Work in Toorak 2JD? ;D
nope MT in the outer east ;D...nicer than Tooak ;)
-
Fuel keeps on going up. $1.50 now heading towards $1.60 with some even talking as much as $2 a litre :P :o.
-
time to boycott sales of everything @ service stations other than Petrol.
Watch them squirm for change then.
-
How do they work the petrol price out?
Is it simply the oil price per barrel divided by 158.987 to convert to per litre then times AUD/US currency exchange rate and then you double that because of the tax and GST ::).
$110.67/158.978 x 1.0725 x 2 = $1.49
The one year forecast for oil is $143 per barrel which would mean $1.94 at the bowser :help. If our dollar falls against the greenback for whatever reason it'll be even worse.

Dont know about the other companies, but I use the shell premium fuel 'optimax' used to be 10 c more than unleaded, now with the prices going down it is 13 c more ??? Like to know how they figure that one.
-
There's predictions that petrol prices could fall as low as 85c :o in the coming weeks thanks to the falling oil price and the Aussie dollar holding up.
