Despite the result, AFL 360 co-host Gerard Whateley still believes the Tigers are the best team in the competition.

“Richmond’s best footy is still by far and away the watermark at the MCG,” Whateley said on SEN’s Crunch Time.

“They’re not a superpower, but they’re as good as we’ve got in the competition without a superpower.”

When there’s a super power team:

Everyone: “why isn’t the league equal? I’m sick of this team winning everything”

When there’s no super power:

Everyone: “the league is poo, none of these teams are any good.  Where are all the dominate teams?”

Would the final series last year been as amazing without RFC supporters?

But....the team was amazing too.

Exactly this. Even during hawthorn and Brisbane's dynasty did they ever reach 90K members? And not to mention the fan base alone? Richmond is very much a superpower because we are club and community through and through

I doubt be is bane could ever hit 90k members even if it won 10 in a row. Queens landers just don't care that much.  In maybe 20 or 30 years time but not this decade.
