Looks like we got through today unscathed.
Fire away with your changes, if any?
-
barring any injuries there will be only one change
AST FOR GARTH...
THATS ALL
-
Depends on whose fit. Astbury, Prestia and Bachar straight in for me with garthy, kamdyn and broad the outs.
-
No need to risk Prestia at Etihad so no change except Astbury for Garthy if available.
The kid was good under pressure today so is unlucky.
-
I am a fair bit over Butler at the moment.
Would like to see Stengle come in for him.
-
With the number of score involvements he had today I doubt it

I am sure you are right, but I just don't see the value in him being out there at the moment.
Maybe I just have a downer on him.

Butler good today 👍

Dimma said he the is no.1 pressure forward in the comp. He gets his stats from Champion data. That is his main job and as long as he does it he stays in the side. I thought he was very good today, especially with that 3m sideways kick to Jack - brilliant.
-
Changes:
In: Astbury, Prestia
Out: Garth, Kamdyn/Conca or Higgins
-

That is the sort of stuff I hate. And I am not overly convinced he meant it.

Nah he meant it. I’ve seen him do it too many times now doesn’t always come off though like when he tried it on the outer side wing and completely missed the ball. :lol

Happened right in front of me
He meant it ok

Conca in the bests today. Going nowhere. Kamdyn unsighted. Must be rested

Hardwick said David Astbury would return to play Sydney after the bye with the premiership defender replaced by his "clone" Ryan Garthwaite, who made his debut on Sunday.
The Tigers also expect to welcome back Dion Prestia (calf) for the clash with the Swans.

OUTS:.
Conca (PLEASE! I can’t take it anymore)
MacIntosh (he needs to learn to get more involved)
Higgins (its time)
Garthwaite (unlucky)
INS
Prestia, C Ellis, Stengle or Bolton, Astbury.
-
Gee Stengle and Bolton must be getting twitchy for a game in the ones, but cannot see them getting a shot.

Conca (PLEASE! I can’t take it anymore)
MacIntosh (he needs to learn to get more involved)
Higgins (its time)

Prestia, C Ellis, Stengle or Bolton, Astbury.
Conca was one of our best...
Would love to know what he did to certain peoples pets to make him hate him so much.

Yep you do

Ins: Astbury and Prestia
Outs: Garth and Macca
Conca was good today and that was Higgins best game for the club, a little untidy but he gave us something today

Conca on half back stuff with Dusty free on the wing, all he needed to do was kick it to his (im not even talking lace out to the chest) advantage and Dusty would’ve had a paddock to run into F50
.....the balls swings off his boot and goes over the boundary for a throw in.
Just one example of the many occasions where his skill execution or his decision making is substandard (which will be compounded in finals).
I think his decision making is the greatest concern adding to that his terrible skills and you should see why he’s more of a liability than an asset especially come finals time.
-
Dusty was a bit of a clanger king early on, kept turning the ball over
-
Reckon K.McIntosh will be of interest in upcoming weeks
Has had a poor month

In Astbury, Moore & C Ellis
Out Garthy, Higgins & KMac
Go with the extra tall at Etihad.

Higgins got to go .

Higgins got to go .
I disagree, starting to play through the midfield and is doing ok IMO.
The kids going to be a gun long term there’s no doubting that.

Higgins got to go .
I liked his game yesterday, actually thought it might have been his best one for us.
He still struggles with decision making - but that will come. Got some good clean touches in a wet soggy and tough game.

RICHMOND defender David Astbury has declared himself a certain starter for the Tigers' clash with Sydney on the other side of this week's bye.
The Tigers are also hoping to have Dion Prestia (calf) available for round 15 with the midfielder last playing in round seven.
However, Bachar Houli may miss another week with the groin he injured back in round 10.

Know him personally from his junior years, like him a lot, but is he the worst set shot kick for goal in the history of the game?

Could have been costly that missed shot just before half time. Does need to work on his set shots.

No one can beat Michael Laffy for that honour.

Will Houli and Prestia be back?
-
Will Houli and Prestia be back?
Houli won't.
Prestia will apparently be right to go but he hasn't played since round 7. Will he get a run in the VFL first to build up some match fitness or will we throw him in cold? Given the game is on the harder and faster surface of Etihad, it won't surprise me if we give him another week before coming back into the seniors.

Prestia is, at the very least, as good as Edwards and Lambert. What a bonus getting him back will be
-
Prestia will be a massive addition to the midfield. Frees up dusty and cotch too.

I’d be suprised if MacIntosh plays

Surely Prestia has to be managed now so that he's fit and cherry ripe for Finals .

You would think so, matty. Give him a run in the VFL and then bring him back for the GF replay at the 'G the following week.

The Barometer - Round 15

RICHMOND
ON THE BLOCK: The Tigers are coming off the bye after beating Geelong in a tough contest in Round 13. Ryan Garthwaite was impressive on debut but is vulnerable if David Astbury is declared fit.
ON THE CUSP: Astbury was a late withdrawal for the clash against the Cats and should be declared fit for Thursday night’s blockbuster against Sydney. Dion Prestia is getting closer to resuming from a calf injury as he completes a mini-preseason and Bachar Houli will be touch and go.
KATE SALEMME’S FORECAST: Can’t wait for Thursday night’s top-of-the-ladder clash as the Tigers and Swans meet at Etihad Stadium. Why isn’t the game at the MCG? That’s a conversation for another day. The match is the first of a big six-week stretch for Damien Hardwick’s team, where they can cement a top-two finish with matches against Adelaide, GWS (away), Collingwood and Geelong. Everything is looking good for the reigning premiers with little to worry about on the injury front and the team in great form.

Star Tiger set to return for Etihad blockbuster
afl.com.au
Jun 26, 2018
PREMIERSHIP midfielder Dion Prestia is set to return for Richmond in its top-of-the-ladder clash with Sydney on Thursday night.
The 25-year-old has not played since round seven after battling a calf injury, and has managed just four games this year.
But the former Gold Coast star is expected to be brought straight back into the Tigers' line-up for the contest.
Coach Damien Hardwick said the Tigers had prepared Prestia to be available at AFL level.
"Dion will be available for selection this week, which is a real positive for us," Hardwick said on Tuesday.
"He's had a really good, solid training block so he'll put his hand up straight away for AFL [selection] and we'll make that decision today (Tuesday)."
Prestia was a key cog in Richmond's midfield last year as it surged towards its drought-breaking premiership in what was his first season at the club after crossing from the Suns.
He gathered 27 disposals and kicked a goal in the Tigers' Grand Final win over Adelaide.
Hardwick said the club had thought about bringing Prestia back through the VFL but decided against it.
"We did consider it but the fact is we got two really good training blocks with Dion and that was always the train of thought just to get him right for AFL," he said.
"He's such a vital player to the way we play and we can't wait to have him back. He'll get through training today and he'll put his hand up and he'll play this week, which is good."
Key defender David Astbury will return from the ankle injury that saw him miss the Tigers' clash with Geelong in round 13 before its bye last week, but defender Bachar Houli is not yet ready with his groin injury.

Get them in: David Astbury is expected to play after hurting his ankle against Port Adelaide and then missing the Geelong game, while Dion Prestia is rated a chance to return. Connor Menadue responded well to his omission from the AFL team with a strong VFL game last weekend, while Corey Ellis continues to press for selection and Sam Lloyd is available after serving a VFL suspension.
Under the pump: Ryan Garthwaite didn't do much wrong after overcoming a shaky start against the Cats and big forward Tom Hawkins, but he's the logical omission for Astbury if the defender is fit. Kamdyn McIntosh has had a quiet three weeks.
Medical room: Prestia last played in round seven, so whether he comes straight back in remains to be seen. Bachar Houli will miss at least one more with the groin injury he suffered in round 10.
Verdict: Astbury for Garthwaite, and possibly Prestia for McIntosh, although that would involve some shuffling. There's no obvious omission for Prestia, given the strength of the performance against Geelong. - Jennifer Phelan
