Ellis is one of the Tigers’ four emergencies for the match, along with Sam Lloyd, Connor Menadue and Ryan Garthwaite.

Knew it. Unlucky for Brando but this seemed like the most logical change.
-
No real surprise. It keeps the same structure we've had for the past 12 months. Higgins' spot was only under threat if Butler had returned while Short and Houli are ahead of Ellis in the HB defensive rebounding roles. McIntosh will be matched up on Smith while Broad plays on the opposition's high-forward who leads up to the wing.

Definitely an upgrade.
:thumbsup

All good but i think conca is the weakest one in there, hope he proves me wr wr wrong

Will hopefully go out when Butler returns at some point in the coming weeks... :shh

Changes are spot on IMHO :clapping

Gone very tall hawks with Ceglar and Nash in the side to.Thinking like eagles exposed us and how crows tryed last year to.Works in our favour for me there not a quick side naturally and if we can use our speed and run and carry can expose them.
Conca may get a tagging job and release Graham as he has been impressive of late and started having more impact with his attacking game.

The rain will undermine their tactics..... :shh

And I didn’t think I could get more excited for this game.

I'm a bit surprised a bloke who has won 4 flags hadn't thought of that

Hopefully the last we see of “sleeps with the light on” Ellis

Good to see Lambert in and it was the right decision to drop Ellis. Shame Butler not fit enough. Agree with comments that Conca may do a tagging role.

By my count 19 of last years premiership team in this week.
Looks very good.
A testament to our conditioning staff
-
With Short and Higgins as upgrades. Excellent!
If Conca plays well tonight it will turn his career around from here on. Bookmark it.

Richmond and Hawthorn have already named their final teams, with the Tigers getting back All-Australian nominated midfielder Kane Lambert to bolster their engine room, while small forward Dan Butler didn’t quite get there but should be right for the reigning premier’s next match.
The Hawks brought in a strong threesome with defenders James Sicily and James Frawley returning from injury, and ruckman Jon Ceglar in to stretch the Tigers for height. Whether that’s a great strategy with a wet evening predicted remains to be seen.

The worst decision in football since Lambert made the AA squad of 40.
If you think this decision won't have a massive backlash, think again :shh

Yes it is. Club isn't tough enough on Houli & Grigg, blokes have a gold pass. They're coming to the end. One in, all in :shh :shh
