At its 18 December 2018 meeting, the Richmond Football Club Board appointed Tina De Young as the Club’s new director, filling a vacancy that arose due to Rob Dalton completing his term at the recent Annual General Meeting.
De Young has a wealth of experience across a wide range of industries including banking and finance, health, infrastructure and agriculture. During this time, she has specialised in mergers, acquisitions and divestments, business valuations and strategy development.
She worked for two years with Morgan Stanley Investment Management in London before spending 12 years with Grant Samuel, finishing as an associate director in 2017. She now operates her own consultancy.
De Young, who is also a board member of the Victorian Institute of Sports, has been a member of the Richmond Football Club Finance Committee since 2011. She has also been an external member of the Club’s Risk, Compliance and Integrity Committee and Audit Committee since 2017. Tina was also involved in establishing the Club's Aligned Leisure subsidiary business.

Elections are not suitable for these type of boards. There would have been the right process involved.

I agree that elections are not appropriate for these types of boards. Maybe a couple of positions, but not all. You need to make sure you have people on the board who have the expertise to deliver on the issues that need to be covered.
