If he's hitting up and clunking marks at CHF and inside F50 which result in goals then no doubt he has the potential.

Bombers forum poster saying we hurt them on the turnover more than they did to us. After half-time we sliced them through the corridor. He also posted "Stewart > Chol" at half-time.
Seems our heat training paid off as it was oppressive out there according to those watching.

VFL Tigers scorch past Dons
Brenton Mann

Richmond VFL hosted Essendon at its second home at Holm Park, Beaconsfield, in their first practice match of 2019, with the 10am start an attempt to beat the heat with Victoria sweltering through its hottest summer on record.
The game started at a frenetic pace, with both sides keen to showcase the fruits of a gruelling off-season.
The Bombers had the better of the first half, however the Tigers finished the strongest, fighting back to secure a gritty 13-point win, 9.10 (64) to 7.9 (51).
Richmond recruit and ex-local, Luke Nelson put his best foot forward, kicking a game-high four majors on debut.
Essendon was cleaner early, taking full advantage of the newly introduced 6-6-6 rule, with towering forward James Stewart lining up for goal in the first 30 seconds.
Stewart missed, but he seemed to enjoy the increased space to work in as a result of a tinkered set-up for centre bounces.
Richmond was able to slot the first major against the tide, with dynamic small forward, Luke Nelson opening his Yellow and Black account.
The Tigers fought and scrapped at half-back, with Billy Coates bustling through the pack and shovelling the ball out to Nelson in the corridor.
Nelson then cruised to 50, set sail and watched the ball skip across the goal line for a major.
Connor Menadue was sharp and alert and teamed well with Derek Eggmolesse-Smith, Patrick Naish and Sydney Stack with the quartet leading the resistance off half-back.
They all combined to provide real bounce, drive and penetration from the defensive half, as the Bombers peppered their attacking 50 at will.
Their growth will be in their defensive efforts, with Naish and Eggmolesse-Smith, particularly, focussing on honing and sharpening their one-on-one craft.
Callum Coleman-Jones is another who seems to have taken some significant strides following his first full pre-season at Tigerland.
Coleman-Jones assumed the number one ruck role, pushing hard defensively to provide aerial support to an undersized Tigers’ backline.
The second quarter began with Essendon hitting the scoreboard early, as Stewart loomed large, and was a continuous threat in the air.
The Tigers fought tooth and nail to own the corridor, trying to push the Bombers wide and cut off their want to attack their forward 50 through the middle of the ground.
Callum Moore provided a real highlight, soaring high above the pack and dragging down a ripper in front of the brave and sweltering Tiger faithful.
The Tigers came out after half-time full of running, with draftees Fraser Turner and Luke English injected into the game, rotating with Ben Miller and Stack.
The home side went on a four-goal blitz, snatching the lead from the Bombers, which they never surrendered.
With Miller sitting out the second half, and Coates’ hands full with Stewart, the Tiger half-backs were called upon to provide aerial support.
And they did just that.
Reuben Hayward spoiled strongly and then was cat-like once the ball hit the ground, as he sliced his way through the corridor, hitting-up Coleman-Jones at centre half-forward.
Coleman-Jones then flicked the ball off to Nelson who streamed into the open goal for his second goal.
There’s a reason why Nelson looked right at home at Holm Park, with the budding forward cutting his teeth in big finals at the venue as a 17-year-old for Berwick Football Club.
Nelson dazzled with his nous and poise around goal as well as his ferocity at the player and the ball.
He finished the game with four majors and was the leading goal-kicker on the ground.
Turner picked up the speed of the game instantly and had a hand in a game-turning major.
The youngest player selected in last year’s AFL Draft pounced on an errant kick from the Bombers coming out of their defence and coolly found Coleman-Jones free inside 50.
The burgeoning big man immediately handballed to Jake Aarts, who snapped truly in customary fashion.
The Tigers upped the ante in the final term, with Nelson slotting back-to-back goals, and Moore slotting a major after the siren to seal a 13-point win.
RICHMOND 1.1 1.3 5.8 9.10 (64)
ESSENDON 2.2 3.5 4.5 7.9 (51)

Cheers for the report, taz.
Granted only a practice match but it's great to hear that so many of our 1st & 2nd year cubs were so prominent in the win. Promising signs for our depth this year.

Went along today to watch an entertaining game in the heat.
Eggmolesse Smith was simply sensational today. He is one to watch this year should he stay fit. Very good in traffic, and has a great left leg. His pace and link up play was instrumental in us staying in the game during the first half. BOG for mine
Menadue was a class above and controled the HB along with Egg. Was using his pace and was physical in the contest today going third up to provide our short backline assistance. Loved his gut running and delivery.
Aarts has improved this preseason no doubt. Played an inside role today and used his strength to break many tackles whilst not getting caught. Hope he continues this upward trend as he works so hard.
Moore was our best big man today. Kicked 2 nice goals, took an absolute hanger on the wing and provided great leadership to fellow forwards. When he played ruck, he was monstered in the middle but provided an adequate level around the ground to break even. A good game from Moore today.
Stack played deep in the backline for the first half and played extremely well. He along with Egg and Menadue kept us in the game as we were well beaten in the first half. Mopped up plenty and didn't see him miss a target. Looks to have time and space when in possession and makes good decisions and was linking up well. Good game.
Bolton played the game out as a mid and performed in the role. Ran the game out well which is pleasing to see from an endurance point of view. Was the first rover and racked up possession whilst providing great defensive pressure. Happy with his game today.
Naish ran the game out well and was using his best asset all day... his thumping right foot. Looks very comfortable at this level and would be happy to see him in the seniors this year as he has developed nicely. For a player lacking size he does crack in with no hesitation.
Miller was disappointing today. Was well beaten in most contests. Had a great opportunity to play on Stewart and show he can match it with an AFL quality player, he was well beaten. Still very young but would like to see him play like a key defender not a HB flanker. Should bounce back.
Chol was the one who disappointed me the most today. Didn't play with much aggression today and was getting pushed aside by the opposition at most contests. Played limited time in the ruck and looked better but was a day to forget from the big man.
CCJ played deep forward and ruck. Was generally happy with his performance although he didn't take his chances in the air like he normally does. Provided a contest as a ruck and around the ground.
English was fantastic in the third quarter, his first for the day. He got us back in the game purely on the back of his grunt work to feed the ball out of stoppages. Runs all day at the same pace but gets in the right spots and goes in very hard... I like him!
Turner also played the last half on the wing. Great physical size and very good ball user. He and English set the tone and changed the match in our favour. Happy with what I saw from him and looking forward to watching him throughout year.
Most of the VFL players didn't play as they were looking at the development list today and a few stood out...
I will say it's a great facility and the ground was first class.

Great report, Machine.
Where did Egg mostly line-up? Defence or midfield?

Awesome report. Very exciting to hear about Smith. On last years viewing I had completely written him off. He was coming back from injury but looked inept. Club obviously saw something and persevered. Looked sharp in the intra club and you’ve provided further detail that the kid can play. Development of players at Tigerland has improved out of site

Watched this kid mystify defenders in Berwick FC's 2015 premiership win.
He's been in sparkling form for @NobleParkFC and yesterday he kicked 4️⃣ goals on debut for @RichmondVFL .
