I'm coming down to Melb for Easter and plan to get the Sydney game and the Anzac Eve game. Currently in the process of getting reserved tickets for the Anzac Eve game but do I need to reserve a ticket for the Sydney game or will I be able to just get in GA?
-
Should be Ok for GA Julz but the game is at Marvel so GA is up in the nose bleeds
-
ok reserved seat it is then.
-
Over the years, our crowds against the Swans have been around the mid-30ks. However, it's jumped up in the past two years with our success. 58k at the 'G in 2017 and when we played the Swans in round 15 last year at Docklands we got a crowd of 43k. So the best bet would be to get a reserved seat, Julz, just in case.

OK my next question is I've heard things about train disruptions in April - will this still be applicable then and if so, what's the best options for parking at Marvel?

We beat the Swannies at Docklands last year but it still ticks me off that we have to play our home game at a venue we hardly play at.
In any case, the question for this game is who gets the match-up on Buddy with Rance not there? Do we go with the more experienced but less agile Astbury or do we put our faith in the more athletic but less experienced Balta?

Yes, who to play on Budgie Franklin ...?
Astbury is a likely starter but some might say he isn't agile enough. Then some would say Balta for starters & be prepared to make a change if Franklin gets on top. Our ace in the hole is Dylan Grimes, who has played on Franklin before & flogged him pointless!
I'd start with Balta with a view to gaining some experience as a KPD, then go straight to Grimes if Noah can't hold him ...
-
Putting Balta on Franklin for two hours would fast track his development by twelve months..... :shh
-
Goes both ways too. Swans have to worry about who they will play on Lynch.

Given the really short turn around to the Anzac eve clash, I'd be really tempted to get some fresh legs into the side.
I haven't seen much VFL this year, only the second half of the Port Melbourne game really, but I thought Naish was a class above with his disposal.
Would love to see him debut against the Swans, especially with Markov out.
-
If Astbury plays on , Fred Fanning's record is at risk. He will run him into the wall. Crimes must play on Buddy
-
The AFL website is tipping us to win by just under 4 goals.
Match preview: Richmond v Sydney
AFL.com.au
Sarah Black
Apr 16, 2019
Where and when: Marvel Stadium, Saturday April 20, 7.25pm AEST
Last time they met: Marvel Stadium, round 15, 2018: Richmond 14.9 (93) defeated Sydney 11.1 (67)
Richmond held Sydney at bay for most of the match until a flurry of Swans goals cut the margin to just four points at the first minute of the last term. It was the last time Sydney would score.
What it means for Richmond: After an undermanned team caused an upset win on the road over Port Adelaide, another four points would boost confidence in the young cubs even further at Punt Road.
What it means for Sydney: At one and three, the ledger could get ugly for the Swans if they don't start getting wins on the board, especially ahead of a battle with crosstown rivals Greater Western Sydney.
How Richmond wins: The Tigers were back to their hassling best last week, and have the speed across the ground to beat the Swans, particularly in the midfield and across half-forward.
How Sydney wins: The blueprint has been set for how to defeat Richmond. Retain possession across half-back using kicks, denying the small forwards the opportunity to pounce on a loose ball.
The stat: Richmond is averaging 339.3 disposals a match after four weeks, the fewest of any club. While in recent years, the Tigers haven't been the biggest ball-winners, (averaging 366.8 in 2018 and 364.7 in 2017), the downward turn is an issue.
The match-up: Lance Franklin v Dylan Grimes
Franklin (12th overall in the Official AFL Player Ratings) v Alex Rance has been an enthralling battle over the years, but with Rance injured and David Astbury not quick enough, the shorter but agile Grimes (196th overall) will have to stand up.
It's a big week for: Aliir Aliir
After taking on one of the biggest men in the game in Braydon Preuss, Aliir will be faced with another big task, lining up on the in-form Tom Lynch. After a pre-season on the sidelines, Lynch is just starting to hit his straps in his new colours, coming off a six-goal haul.
Big call: It's been a relatively quiet few weeks for the lookalike pair, but Richmond's Jack Higgins and Sydney's Ben Ronke will kick three goals each under the roof.
Prediction: Tigers by 22 points

Wallace was on SEN yesterday and said this a potential 'banana skin' game for us. You have a good against the odds win with a younger team and you can fall into the trap of spending the week with everyone talking about that win and not totally focusing as you should on the next game coming up. He gave the Bulldogs losing to the Suns following their last quarter comeback win over Hawthorn as an example.
-
Actually wish we were playing them at the SCG...they're shyte there... :shh

Grimes is the Tigers' man to take on Franklin
The Age
19 April 2019
In the absence of Alex Rance, Richmond will turn to in-form defender Dylan Grimes to take the battle to Sydney superstar Lance Franklin.
Rance and Franklin have staged some enthralling duels over the years but with the star Tiger sidelined for the season with a knee injury, Grimes is just the man to take "Buddy" on.
The versatile defender was almost impassable in undermanned Richmond's win over Port Adelaide and will need to play a key role if Damien Hardwick's men are to improve their 2-2 record.
"Grimesy is probably the likely guy but 'Buddy' plays different positions ... sometimes he's up the ground and sometimes he's deep," Hardwick said.
"As we do normally, there will be match-ups for up the ground, compared to when he's in the cage.
"We've got some really athletic guys down there so we'd be happy with any one of those guys taking care of 'Buddy' at stages.
Richmond defender Dylan Grimes will be up for the Lance Franklin challenge.Credit:AAP
"[But Dylan is] an incredible player, we've known that for a long time and that's probably just starting to sink in beyond our four walls.
"There's a reason he's finished in the top five of our best-and-fairest for the last two or three years."
ichmond welcome back Dustin Martin from suspension and Bachar Houli from a hamstring injury for Saturday night's Marvel Stadium clash, with Jack Graham and Connor Menadue making way.
Debutants Ryan Clarke and James Rowbottom are in for the Swans who have dropped Nick Blakey and Justin McInerney.
Sydney (1-3) are off to their almost-customary slow start under coach John Longmire but that hasn't stopped them playing finals in every one of the 2012 premiership coach's eight seasons in charge.
"One thing I know about the Swans is that they never quite start off that well," Hardwick said.
"It's a general picture that they paint but they're an incredibly competitive side that has been in every game they've played.
"They're probably similar to us in that they're not quite at their best but they're certainly capable of flicking a switch."
Swans veteran Kieren Jack, who was slowed by an off-season knee operation and played his first game in last week's loss to Melbourne, will play his 250th AFL match.

As long as we bring the same intent and effort were a big chance. We need all players putting in like last week I don't want to see a few drop the standard.Get ready for the love child of the afl get a few frees Franklin.
"The blueprint has been set for how to defeat Richmond. Retain possession across half-back using kicks, denying the small forwards the opportunity to pounce on a loose ball. ". Sounds to easy they way they put it.
-
hope its not a bad omen but so far all away teams have won....
-
FINAL INTERCHANGES
Richmond: Jack Higgins, Shai Bolton, Noah Balta, Sydney Stack
Sydney: Jackson Thurlow, James Rowbottom, Ben Ronke, Luke Parker

hope its not a bad omen but so far all away teams have won....
Use it as a wake up call given a couple of those today have been upsets. We can't take anything for granted and we need to turn up switched on from the start.
-
Astbury on Buddy. Got the first spoil.
Baker bouncing along the win over to Rioli. Short to Lambert. Across to Kmac 70 out. Goes long. Scramble. Rioli over his head kick falls short and the Swans clear.
We get it back. Houli long inside 50. Ross to the goal-line. Lynch spoiled and it's a point.
Rioli intercepts the short Swan kick-in. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 1.1-7
Syd 0.0-0
-
Ross out of the centre. We keep possession around the 50 via Ellis to Ross. Goes long. Kmac leaps but can't mark.Dusty gathers and snaps. Rushed for a point.
8 - 0
Good tackling pressure so far.
-
Pushed too many numbers forward. Swans with an open forward line.
Grimes slips over and Buddy waltzes in for a goal.
8 - 6
-
So there's no HTB tonight ::).
-
A couple of poor defensive clearances straight to Swans.
8 - 12
Not tight enough defensively.
-
Ross out wide from the centre. Throw-in on the wing. Baker off the ground but the Swans clear.
We get it back. Broad to courageous Prestia outside 50. Goes long. Swans dropping balls in tackles. Ump says play on ::) and they clear to outside 50.
Broad scragged no free ::).
Prestia chase tackle on a Swans player. No free again ::).
We get it forward. Lynch back to Ellis. Goal :gotigers
Rich 2.2-14
Syd 2.0-12
-
Brandon Ellis you star
-
Look where your kicking Higgo. That's two straight to only Swans.
They miss on the counter.
14 - 13
-
Rioli getting his quad strapped up.
We're bombing it too much inside 50. Need to lower our eyes. Houli leading up 3 times on 50 but was ignored.
-
Nice by Bolts to Dusty. Another good kick finds George on the lead 35 out. Misses.
15 - 13
-
That's the problem with George. Great lead, nice hands. Poor kick
-
Higgins tackled when he thought the game had stopped and the ump pays HTB.
Swans players get tackled and it's play on.
Two different rules out there ::).
-
The umps paying NOTHING to us
-
Good clean transition by hand from one end to the other via about 10 Tigers. Lambert goals :gotigers.
Rich 3.3-21
Syd 2.1-13
-
How good was Kam's effort against Allir !!!!
Brilliant stuff. Exactly why he's in the side
-
Great quarter from the boys!
Any chance the umps want to reward our tackles?
-
Edwards shot is two-minded and is OOTF.
This umpiring is a joke. Nank had Sinclair's arm around his neck. Play on! Every time we get tackled it's HTB/throw but the Swans can drop it and it's called play on.
Quarter time
Richmond 3.3-21
Sydney 2.1-13
Goals: Rioli, Ellis, Lambert.
-
Great quarter from the boys!
Any chance the umps want to reward our tackles?
Worst one was Grimes in the BP. Bloke ducked and he smashed him. Play on!
:lol
What a stuffing joke.
Lads are up for it though and big Dave has stepped up down back :cheers
-
Worst was buddy shoving Astbury in the head
Didn’t even get a mention
-
Worst was buddy shoving Astbury in the head
Didn’t even get a mention
Yep. JB flogging himself as if it would have been mark of the year
-
Ross is playing like he's played 150 games.
Clever tap with the foot by Rioli. Baker running into an open goal and misses :facepalm.
Dusty nails Jones in the tackle who disposes it incorrectly = no free. Swans then get a soft free ::).
-
Sheds' handball is overcooked. Ends up in a goal to them.
22 - 20
-
Is it just me or are the umps missing a lot of free kicks to us?? Absolute crap.
-
what the stuff is with the umpiring ??? They drop the ball in tackles nothing, we even look like it, and its stuffing free every time
-
OMG we actually got a HTB free. Advantage. Prestia to Caddy long to Dusty 1-on-1 mark 35 out. Goal!
His first for the year.
Rich 4.4-28
Syd 3.2-20
-
Sensational tackle BEllis
-
Good transition starting with Floss. Higgo to Bolts who runs and bounces from the wing inside 50. Smartly keeps his head and finds Lambert. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 5.4-34
Syd 3.2-20
-
Geez that's pathetic by Prestia
-
Dusty out of the middle to Bolts outside 50. Goes to George on the lead but can;'t hold it. Ball-up 40 out. Swans clear.
We get it back via good pressure. Prestia waits for Lynch but he's pushed under the ball and it's a throw-in.
Swans clearing kick marked by balta out side 50. Goes to the goalsquare. Scramble and it's a throw-in in the pocket. Swans clear.
It's pinged in and out of our F50.
Stack good mark with the flight. Goes to Dusty and he takes a very good contested mark on the lead. Misses from 35.
35 - 20
-
A couple of mistackles and running over the ball allows a goal to the Swans on the counter out of F50 :banghead.
35 - 26
Out misses are keeping the Swans in it.
-
Bolts and Floss run into each other and stuff up a potential goal chance.
Swans on the break but Stack saves the day against 2 Swans.
Our forward entries are poor this quarter. Swans are flooding back waiting to hit us on the counter. We need to be smarter.
-
Dusty's kick inside 50 is straight to a Swan.
However, the Swan defender kick across defence is straight to Baker who runs in a goals. :gotigers
We'll take that gift.
Rich 6.5-41
Syd 4.2-26
Inside 50s: 28 - 16
-
Stack again. We just keep it rolling forward even though it's sloppy and error-ridden. Bolts finds Balta on the lead 30 out. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 7.5-47
Syd 4.2-26
-
Prestia up and under from the centre clearance to HF. Ball-up. Swans clear.
Ump hasn't heard of man in front ::). That was a mark to Houli.
Broad good contest stops Buddy marking 1-on-1.
-
Rioli sneaks up and nails Mills. We hit them on the break. Dusty mark and goal :gotigers.
Rich 8.5-53
Syd 4.2-26
-
These new young blokes are kicking arse!
-
Kmac to the wing and Lynch marks. Plays on and goes long to Dusty who can;t mark. Swans clear ot the wing.
Houli grounded handball to Prestia who goes long and Caddy marks/free on the siren. Goal! :gotigers
Half-time
Richmond 3.3 9.5-59
Sydney 2.1 4.2-26
Goals: Martin 2, Lambert 2, Ellis, Rioli, Balta, Baker, Caddy.
-
Seriously loving what Ross, Baker, Bolton & Stack are doing for us! If they keep this up I'm going to need some spare jocks! :o
-
Stack has been unbelievable.
-
Awesome half! Should be even further in front.
-
Great half, especially given we were playing against 25 of the bastards
-
All over them and finally put that dominance on the scoreboard in the last 10 minutes.
These new young blokes are kicking arse!
Stack 13 and Ross 12 possies :thumbsup.
-
Stack has been unbelievable.
A few clubs kicking themselves for not taking the punt.... :shh
-
Great half, especially given we were playing against 25 of the bastards
Imagine if we got the soft technical frees Collingwood gets most weeks. Thursday night they were blowing the whistle for every tackle and hold but tonight it's wave the arms and call play on whenever the Swans drop/throw the ball in the tackle.
-
Yep :thumbsup Disgrace
-
We have 44 tackles to their 27 yet they lead the free kick count 9 to 6... says it all really!
6 free kicks in a half when you are doing all the hunting and scoring WTF!
-
Richmond completely dominated the second quarter winning the inside 50 count (20-9) recording kicking efficiency of 78 percent compared to Sydney 65 percent and winning the quarter by 25 points.
A strong contested mark and goal by Josh Caddy on the half time siren gives the Tigers leads in contested marks (6-2), forward 50 marks (7-3) and one-on-one contest wins (5-1).
Richmond recorded 18 forward 50 tackles in the first half (Sydney applied two). The Tigers had only applied eight such tackles per game in their first four rounds this season.
Team stats:
Disposals: 213 - 224 ( contested: 74 - 74 )
Clearances: 12 - 18 ( centre: 8 - 5 )
Inside 50s: 32 - 20 ( marks in50: 7 - 3 )
Tackles: 44 - 27
Hitouts: 8 - 17
Frees: 6 - 9 .... it's the ones not being paid to us ::).

Caddy 10
Broad 10

https://www.afl.com.au/match-centre/2019/5/rich-v-syd
-
18-2 tackles inside forward 50.
That’s the Tigers I know :thumbsup
-
We have 44 tackles to their 27 yet they lead the free kick count 9 to 6... says it all really!
6 free kicks in a half when you are doing all the hunting and scoring WTF!
Don't know what we need to do to earn a free. Swans throwing constantly and getting away with it :banghead
-
been the same past few games, collingwoodscum game and Sydney gonads game, stuffing infuriating
-
poo goal to Buddy Mud guts
-
That's why Ellis has his critics. A clean possession there rather than a fumble and we could have cleared that. Instead it's a ball-up on the Swans HF and Buddy ends up with a goal from it.
59 - 32
-
Free for a push to Dusty in the centre. To the 50 and it's a ball-up.
Ross on the wing. Sheds to baker inside 50. Scramble. Lynch intercepts and swings in one motion but it's a point.
Swans almost go coast to coast (Ronk looked out of bounds on the wing). Thankfully Jack sprays it.
We get it Caddy on the wing. But his high kick to HF is marked by Sydney.
We get it back. Ross gives and gets it back at HF. However it's a helicopter kick and Allir marks.
We've come out just not switched on.
-
Swans player gets tackled 360 and it's not HTB.
-
Got to steady now and switch on and keep up the pressure and let's keep it simple.
-
Ump actually helps us by getting in the way in the centre. However George's handpass is wide past Ellis and then Ellis lazily goes for the low-% around the body and sprays it.
A certain goal blown :banghead.
-
George skills a real bad and Ellis needs to steady keep it simple.
-
Floss with the saving tackle at HB.
This is slop by us with the ball.
Finally some clean possession. Houli to Higgo at HF. Called to play on. Inside 50 and Lynch marks 35 out. Hits the post.
61 - 32
-
That was an easy goal for Brando if the handball wasn't under 8 level.
-
Keiran Jack drops it cold = no free ::).
-
Stack bursts but Lynch can't hold the mark on the lead. Ball-up. Swans clear.
Buddy goal.
61 - 38
We are playing some dumb hack footy this qtr :banghead.
-
Castagna can't even hit a 4 MTR handball target. He's out next week
-
Dusty kicks it high to allow Bolton to mark. Called a free for chopping the arms. Misses.
62 - 38
-
That was an easy goal for Brando if the handball wasn't under 8 level.
Was still a poo effort for goal
Bellis going hard with the flight 30 seconds later was also under 8 level
-
Higgo drops a sitter on 50.
Bolton intercepts on 50 but his banana misses. In two minds whether to bounce or not.
We get it back but Dusty's snap under pressure falls short to a Swans defender (I wish out forwards played in front for that kick).
We get it back again and now Caddy marks and has a set shot on an angle. Kicks it! :gotigers
Hooray we finally kicked one this qtr.
Rich 10.9-69
Syd 6.2-38
-
Nank free in the centre. However Prestia hacks the kick 15m straight to a Swan. Fortunately they blow their chance and we escape.
Nank cuts of the Swan kick at HB. Over to Caddy. Astbury across HB to Stack. Houli wants his left and gets it Kmac who takes a tough contested mark. Goes long to Lynch. Dusty front and square crumbs a goal :gotigers.
Rich 11.9-75
Syd 6.2-38
-
Keiran Jack drops it cold = no free ::).
That is the epitome of what's wrong with umpiring these days. They love to pick out the little technical ones wherever they can to show how well they've read the rule book.
But when it's a clear and simple improper disposal and holding the ball its play on....
-
Lucky there Tigers. Trying to gift the Swans a late goal kicking it back to them :banghead. Heeney misses though (pushed Floss in the back).
We get it to Prestia at HF but the siren goes as he kicks it inside 50.
3/4 time
Richmond 3.3 9.5 11.9-75
Sydney 2.1 4.2 6.3-39
Goals: Martin 3, Lambert 2, Caddy 2, Rioli, Ellis, Baker, Balta.
-
lots of sloppy fumbles but at least they break out the poo shovel and clean up their mess and not stare at it with their hands on their hips.
-
Martin leads all players for score involvements (eight), forward 50 marks (four) and forward 50 disposals (seven).
Richmond now leads 27-7 in forward half intercepts and 40-6 in points scored from this source.
Richmond now has a 45-30 lead in loose-ball gets post-clearance. This has been an area of strength in recent seasons for the Tigers with their fleet of ground level players.
Leading disposals:
Sheds 25
Prestia 24
Dusty 21
Higgo 21
Stack 19
Baker 18
Ross 16
Ellis 16
Houli 15
https://www.afl.com.au/match-centre/2019/5/rich-v-syd
-
Castagna seriously can’t handpass the footy to anyone’s advantage. It either goes straight up or nowhere near the intended teammate if he ever hits a player it normally is at their feet.
His pressure and tackling is good though.
-
Stack a rookie is so much better than Bellis in every department...how bizarre
-
lots of sloppy fumbles but at least they break out the poo shovel and clean up their mess and not stare at it with their hands on their hips.
Can't fault our workrate but that quarter was awful. Pure slop from us. Swans playing a spare behind the ball and then trying to play keepings off since half-time.
-
oh thats ok, buddy puts grimes in a headlock and gets a free kick
-
Sheds cuts off the Swan kick on the wing. To Kmac. Goes inside 50 but Dusty can't break through. Swans clear.
Grimes does enough to stop Buddy marking on the line and Broad clears.
Kmac free against Buddy for too high. George 3 bounces from the wing runs away from Jones. Goes towards Lynch who is spoiled. Swans clear.
Good tackle by Stack causes the turnover on the wing but Balta is tackled and gives away the free.
Buddy and Grimes both with their arms around each other's neck but Buddy gets the free ::). Goal to Sydney.
75 - 45
-
Gez we have a great batch of kids swans camed at us that quarter.Dont mind mistakes from them.Lets put them away.
-
Better at the contest there by Ellis. Prestia centres it to the top of the square but Heeney marks.
Kmac intercepts. Goes towards Lynch but he is spoiled going for the chest mark instead of arms out.
Throw-in 60 out. Swan run down in the tackle and drops it = play on ::)
We get it back but Dusty's quick shot misses.
76 - 45
-
Thankfully they miss their set shot.
76 - 46
13 mins to go.
-
Houli to Ellis along the wing. To Balta who goes long towards Lynch but it's a mark/free to Sydney and 50 ::).
Midweek will be practising hitting lead up targets inside 50.
Point to Swans. Touched on the line by Astbury.
76 - 47
-
the umpire is going to free kick them to victory
-
I know where winning but our inside 50 entries are a disgrace.
Should be 10 goals up but they're now within reach
-
told ya umpires are stuffing us in the arse with a ironbark phalus dipped in shards of glass
-
Another free to Sydney when we were out.
Fumbles by us 10 out and Swans goal :banghead.
Balta has two long pings but it results in a point.
Prestia pinged for OOTF in the Swans forward pocket. Buddy misses.
77 - 54
8 mins to go.
-
I mean Buddy goes near the footy and he is gifted a free shot on goal ffs
-
Stack at HB gets 50. To the hot spot but we all fly under the ball and Swans clear.
Our midfield-forward connection the 2nd half has been pathetic. Continually butchering it or not kicking it to our forwards advantage when 1-on-1.
-
so Dusty gets interfered with in the goal square trying to mark...not a stuffing sausage.
-
Not switched on dumb football keep it basic.Forward 50 rubbish.Gez making hard work of it should have buried swans.
-
Swans turnover coming out of D50. Prestia intercept marks and hits George 45 out. OMG he kicked one straight through the middle :gobdrop :gotigers
Rich 12.11-83
Syd 8.6-54
82 of 83 pts have come from Sydney turnovers.
-
Nank out of the centre. Prestia front and square of the pack kicks it forward and Balta marks 12m out. Goes the round the body kick rather than drop punt but kicks it anyway :gotigers.
Rich 13.11-89
Syd 8.6-54
-
Nice goal Balta. At least we earn our goals honestly
-
Balta snapping then is ridiculous
-
Goal straight out of the middle to them (Broad and Floss should have done better to stop Reid marking)
89 - 60
-
so they get a free for a fair tackle and them dropping the ball in the tackle out of the centre and score a goal from it LOL stuff me pooting
-
Holding free to Dusty at the centre bounce.
Ump calls play on then says you can;t play on from a zone kick :huh3.
-
Papley drops the mark but the ump says stack infringed for touching him ::).
Point to Swans.
89 - 61
2 mins to go.
-
Rioli continually scragged without the footy all the way there into our F50 but no free.
They run up the other end for a goal.
89 - 67
-
Umpires a bunch of clueless wankers. Seriously wish they came under the same amount of scrutiny as players/coaches do for their performances.
This should have been a blowout.
-
Very unsatisfying. Putrid umpiring.

The afl love child Buddy does as he pleases free after free pathetic.

We won but we've got a lot of work to do.
Effort was there can't fault that. If we could hit a target inside 50 were all good

Could’ve and should’ve been a ten goal win minimum.
..... but we won so can’t really complain.
Dusty was better. Thought Nank was good early as was Ross.
Shed off half back was very good. Prestia was better. Ellis was ok only squibbed once I saw out on the wing.
Scrappy win in the end but a real wasted opportunity. Pressure was good especially first half.
My new favourite player is Stack.

A game of two halves.
First half was extremely good. Best we've played in the first 5 rounds. High pressure, hard running and good skills and by half-time we had converted our dominance on the scoreboard.
Second half was utter slop. As pmac said we couldn't find nor hit a target inside 50 to save ourselves. We did enough to hold the Swans at bay but that won't cut it against the top sides.
Having 22 more inside 50s should result in a percentage boosting win. Not just a 22 point win in which we lost the 2nd half. That's only one point more per extra inside 50.
Pmac, you're right. We'll take the win but there's plenty of work to do.

Good crowd,

A comfortable win for the Tigers who punished the Swans turnovers, finishing with a 81-35 advantage in points scored from turnovers. Richmond led 42-16 in forward half tackles and 32-12 in forward half intercepts.
Richmond 22-2 in forward 50 tackles with its trademark forward half pressure on display tonight.
The Tigers lead centre bounce clearances 17-8 and 8-0 in points scored from these clearances.

Take the win and move on.
We still have a hell of a lot of improving to do, although very pleased with our number of forward half tackles tonight.
Dusty's third goal roving across the front of the pack shows he is starting to find some serious form.

It's all starting to come together. Brilliant first half.
We'll be too good for Melbourne.
-
I dont think we can win the flag without rance but if we can make the finals then it becomes a 4 week competition and weve shown in the past that we can put 4 weeks together at a really high level. Rance should prepare just in case.
-
Shat himself with the flight
Got laughed at by the swans opponent for it

I dont think we can win the flag without rance
I am actually starting to think more positively about the situation and that we can win without Rance.
Amazing what a couple of wins can do I guess, but the form of some of our younger players, and the obvious room for improvement in some of our more established players form, makes me feel quite positive.

Also Dimma has something other coaches don’t have: a great plan B and a pretty good plan C

The Grimes / Franklin free kick was absolute excrement

It's just so exciting to see the "tiger tornado" up and running again.
Some of the passages of play were exhilarating against Sydney.
-
Would've been even more exhilarating if we'd actually finished more of them instead of stuffing most of them up... :shh

Last quarter really disappointing. Delivery into forward was not great. Allowed Swans to chip the ball without contest in fourth. Prestia very good all game eg instead of bombing the ball into the forwardline in the fourth he lowered his eyes and got George which killed the game. Agree with comments that we need to lift as better sides won't make same mistakes Sydney did. Sydney are a very ordinary side.
-
I didn’t mind the umpiring - overall they let it go which actually helps to game itself. Couple of dodgy calls but pretty good overall.
I just wonder if the cue went into the rack in the last q - there’s another game in 4 days so resting up a couple of our key players might’ve been the priority

I was thinking the exact same thing at the game. I thought we quietly just slowed down for Wednesday night.... :shh

On another note Sydney came out after half time trying to copy collingwoods game plan of playing keepings off. I still think we have work to do on defeating this strategy. We need to be forcing clubs to go down the line more often.
