How Ellis retained his spot is remarkable. Like the ins however
-
Absolutely disgraceful BEllis remains.
Rewarding being laziness and refusing to go hard at contests because you don't want to get hit is obviously accepted these days
Not to mention it sends a shocking message
But whatever
-
Was at last week's game and saw two standout poor efforts by BEllis and if I was coach he wouldn't be playing until further notice, it was soft and quite frankly cringeworthy to watch
BTW and totally off subject was anyone else at the game aware of the outcome of what I believed to be a Tigers supporter who had a suspected heart attack, they were trying CPR for quite a long period of time.

Was there too and know exactly what you are referring to and feel exactly the same way. Some things are not negotiable

Was not aware of that. Hope they are OK

Not that I'm fussed but Hardwick pretty much said Townsend was in during today's press conference....only named as an emergency...reckon Caddy might still be a late out... :shh
Castagna very fortunate, BEllis keeping his spot is laughable but sadly predictable - Garthwaite should've been retained, would've been better for the run and seems a bit foolhardy to go in with one less tall against a side wth two quality rucks who can both rotate forward... good to see CCJ named as an emergency ahead of Slomo... starting to make an impression in only his second year - solid progrees for a young ruckman..... :shh :shh
Looking forward to finally seeing Bolton on ball.... :shh :shh :shh
-
agree with everybody's comments above
-
I'm guessing the coaching staff see something in BEllis we don't, that's ok. They know what they are doing.
I would have also had Butler over George, trust him more with the ball in his hand.
-
Ellis and Castagna lucky but with 3 forced changes may have just been a case of being named by default. Butlers dropping has been a long time in the making, hopefully this is the wake up call he needs. Happy with all the players coming in.
They may be playing balta down back which is why garthy’s gone out.
-
You have the choice to play Townsend over Bellis and you don’t.
One would die for the club and his teammates and the other is soft as a babies bum.
Other than that I’m happy with the ins.
Looking forward to seeing Balta again this week and also Ross and Bolton for their first games this year.
Baker has earned his call up too, so good on him.
-
Can't question Towner's hardness but I don't recall ever seeing him play as a half back flanker. Still, would have liked to see him come in. His time will come though.
It's last chance saloon for the BEllis and like whoa, stuffing look out...:shh
Fantastic to see my man Bolton get rewarded...:shh :shh

Last time I looked Houli and Vlastuin can play HBF.
No need for Bellis.... ever again.

Of course they can but always play 2 runners off half back. With Houli back we'll likely see The BEllis back on the wing, where he started last week before JayDon snapped his arm in half.... :shh
-
The cat with nine lives how many chances for Ellis pathetic.

Serious question
If he somehow plays a great game on Saturday, will you give him credit?

Happened seven rows behind me.
Dunno for sure but they were doing CPR for about 40 minutes
My guess is he was a goner
-
Agree Ellis should have been dropped. Agree Townsend should have been included and Ryan retained. Ins are good. Really hope inclusions have big games.

That's a good way to go. Hope it's not the case

You know in the past when he's deserved it I've given him credit
Bjt after last week it would needto be something quite phenomenal

stuffin disgrace this squib gets gifted games
There’s always a reason. These are coaches of a professional sporting team, they put a lot of thought into the selection process. They would have kept Ellis because they believed he plays an important role or is important to the structure.
Coaches see the game different to supporters do and their thinking is often far more complex than supporters think they are

Thanks Dimma!

Butler... The first time an amigo has been dropped since the start of 2017 ???
Too much sizzle and not enough sausage.
-
Think Butler's issue is between the ears, looks a bit too sure of himself to me and stopped doing the hard work. Also noticeable that when he is in possession he has got too cute. Needs to go back to the VFL and work on the simple things and the rest will take care of itself.
His amigo partner George needs to be put in front of a whiteboard illustrating that the ball is to be kicked between the two largest of the four posts, geez he is frustrating to watch. Tries to kick the ball way too hard, a little finesse here and there would go a long way, the coaches I hope are working intensively with him on this.
-
Bachar now confirmed out & Menadue in, would prefer to see Naish TBH
-
Markov has been added to the emergencies.
"Bachar trained this week, however, he didn’t feel 100 per cent ready to play, so we felt that it was best to make a change, and look ahead to next week for him," said Tigers football boss Neil Balme.

Great. Menaspew in now
We can only hope to get away with a honourable loss here
-
I'm gonna go all Claw and say Naish would have been my choice
-
Will be Menadue's breakout game....
...will breakout in a nervous rash as he realises his AFL career is over... :shh
-
The Due gives us must needed pace, but will he click? History says no.
Make or break game for the fella. I really want him to make it, but unfortunately,I think it’ll be the latter rather than the former.
-
he's trash as an AFL footballer.....even as a VFL player tbh...its not his fault though
just lacks ability.....

I think he lacks intestinal fortitude more than ability..... :shh

surely not with Bellis as a role model :lol

Some are claiming we will have the youngest team this round.

Geez you know Dimma doesn’t rate Townsend when he can’t get a game with all our injuries and with Bellis still in the side after last weeks game.
I know it’s human nature to have favourites but how anyone who knows anything about footy can keep selecting Bellis is beyond me.
And I didn’t think it possible but he has gotten worse this year and that is saying something.
-
I would've thought we'd bring in Townsend just to add a bigger body and some hardness at the footy and opponent. Crunch a opposition defender or two and they might start hearing footsteps causing forward half turnovers which we've been missing this year.
I'm not sure how we think we can win with both Ellis and Menadue being our running rebounders off half-back. Both struggle to win their own ball and turn it over way too often anyway when they do have the footy :-\.

Towner is a very different player. Either a forward or a hard nut pinch hitting in the guts. Ellis plays the wing very, very well as shown today. His first full game there in years. :thumbsup
