THIS year's Dreamtime at the 'G will hold even greater significance for Richmond star Daniel Rioli.
The Tigers will run out in a special guernsey designed by Rioli and his parents for the clash against Essendon on May 25.
The jumper features the Rioli family totem, the turtle, and represents the exciting forward's Tiwi Islands upbringing.
Working alongside his parents Belinda Punguatji and Bradley Rioli to design the Dreamtime guernsey was a dream come true for the 22-year-old.

Match preview: Richmond v Essendon
AFL.com.au
Sarah Black
May 21, 2019
Where and when: MCG, Saturday, May 25, 7.25pm AEST
Last time they met: MCG, round 22, 2018: Richmond 12.9 (81) defeated Essendon 11.7 (73)
Missing key midfielders Trent Cotchin, Kane Lambert and Dion Prestia, the Tigers held on to seal a tight win after the Bombers kicked the last four goals of the game. Dustin Martin was Richmond's best, while Devon Smith led the way for Essendon.
What it means for Richmond: An opportunity for a surprise top-four berth. Given Richmond's injury list and the calibre of players on it, few would have expected the Tigers to have won as many games as they have.
What it means for Essendon: A win would go some way to stabilising a topsy-turvy season, levelling the win-loss ledger at five apiece. The Bombers have also lost 10 of their past 12 to the Tigers.
How Richmond wins: Using its multi-pronged attack to its advantage. Richmond's forward line is starting to really hit its straps, and they should have too many avenues to goal for Essendon to counter.
How Essendon wins: Exploiting Richmond's lack of height around the ground. Hawthorn looked dangerous while it had two fit rucks playing, both up forward and around the ground.
The stat: Saturday night marks the 15th Dreamtime at the 'G match, with Richmond having won eight games and Essendon saluting on six occasions. Dustin Martin is the only two-time winner of the Yiooken Award for best on ground.
The match-up: Sydney Stack v Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti
An unlikely match-up at the start of the season, but it's set to be a highly entertaining one. The pair are as tough as nails, with Stack the fourth-highest first-year player in the AFL Player Ratings (516th overall), while the Bomber is rated 82nd overall.
It's a big week for: John Worsfold
It's been a strange season for Essendon, recording wins over Melbourne, Brisbane, North Melbourne and Fremantle interspersed with disappointing losses. Knocking off a confident Richmond side would be a real feather and a step towards being a legitimate finals contender.
Big call: Daniel Rioli will force his way back into the side and kick three goals wearing the Dreamtime guernsey he designed with his parents.
Prediction: Tigers by 25 points

Just got a text message from the RFC saying:
"Attending ... this Saturday night? We highly recommend upgrading to a reserved seat today to avoid disappointment."
-
I received 4 general admin tickets to this game from a friend but it says "entry subject to capacity" and enter gate 1 or 3-5.
Does anyone know if I can upgrade this ticket to guarantee a good seat. I don't want to be stranded up high.
Thanks.

Joe Daniher in doubt, probably won't play this weekend and could miss season due to groin injury.

No late changes.
-
Let's hope the rain plays into our hands with our mosquito fleet. It shouldn't be a night for talls with slippery ball at ground level most of the time. CCJ just needs to compete and not let Bellchambers just thump the ball forward. In the wet, it's all about winning the territory and surging it forward. Then take you chances in front of goal.
-
Get stuff ump. Heppell did the same thing kicking it forward and out of bounds .
-
Top stuff. Playing smart wet weather footy so far. Higgo goal :gotigers
Rich 1.1-7
Ess 0.0-0
-
Prestia kicks under pressure and they pay deliberate again ::).
LOL we get one back.
-
No talk and Floss didn't shepherd Dusty.
-
Thanks for the updates Mighty.
-
Don't play on inside 50 CCJ.
-
Free kicks 3-9 to the Bummers... what’s new!!!
-
Quarter time
Richmond 1.2-8
Essendon 0.3-3
Goal: Higgins
Our inside 50s in the 2nd half of that quarter were not deeper enough and that allowed the Bombers to clear too easily. Dimma hates kicks to the top of the 50 as it's harder to defend on the opposition rebound.
As for the umps and their Russian roulette decisions ::). Put the whistle away and let the game go in this weather.
-
Free kicks 3-9 to the Bummers... what’s new!!!
And add the ones they don't pay to us.
-
LOL. Hooker you're an idiot! Thanks for the freebie 50 :lol.
Goal to Lynch :gotigers
Rich 2.2-14
Ess 0.3-3
-
Why don't you kick it for them, umps.
-
14-4 is the score and 4-14 for frees.
-
No short passes in defence tonight, Houli.
-
Loving Balta's torps tonight.
-
Heppel lands right in Higgo's back = no free ::).
We get the goal anyway thanks to a great snap by Baker :gotigers
Rich 3.3-21
Ess 0.5-5
-
They get it straight back. Bellchambers winning a few taps to advantage now.
21 - 11
-
Don't let it out the back :banghead. Lucky the miss.
21 - 12
-
Great goal Prestia :clapping :gotigers
Needed that steadier.
Rich 4.3-27
Ess 1.7-13
-
Rioli misses a sitter snap. Normally swallows them. Over hooked it.
29 - 13
-
Another snap missed (prestia).
30 - 13
-
Higgo off the ground off Hb. Gets to Caddy who lowered his eyes smartly and finds Bolton 45 out. Looks to be going for a behind but it stays in and Caddy's snap misses.
Half-time
Richmond 1.2 4.7-31
Essendon 0.3 1.7-13
Goals: Higgins, Prestia, Lynch, Baker.
-
Despite Bellchamber dominating the ruck, we were on top in that quarter especially as it went along. More disposals and tackles and Inside 50s are 33-23. Could have got a couple of goals out of those last 4 straight behinds as they were gettable.
Houli and Sheds (so clean in the wet) best on so far. Baker the best of our cubs.
Houli 22
Dusty 17
Sheds 15
Baker 12
Caddy 12
Ellis 12
Prestia 12
Astbury 10
George 10
Rioli very quiet but he has had as few possies (3) as Tipungwuti has.
-
Floss get 50 for Heppel restraining him after disposal. Misses from 45 out.
32 - 13
-
Balta long bomb from 55 misses.
33 - 13
-
7 straight points. Higgo this time.
34 - 13
-
Deliberate paid against Saad in the pocket.
George finally nails one through :gotigers.
Rich 5.10-40
Ess 1.7-13
-
Fantastic transition from defence starting with Houli. Ends up with Rioli finding Lynch 35 out. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 6.10-46
Ess 1.9-15
-
Don't get too cute inside F50, Tiges. We're all over them at the minute. Don't waste it.
-
Great run down chase by Bolton on Saad at HF. Then Merrett gives away 50 kicking the ball away.
So Bolts kicks a goal from the square :gotigers.
Rich 7.10-52
Ess 1.9-15
-
Winning the clearances this quarter and our forward pressure is immense. Sheds finds George 40 out by the boundary.
George kicks it straight through the middle :gobdrop :gotigers
Rich 8.10-58
Ess 1.9-15
-
That free and fifty on Saad was bs, don't like that sort of umpiring even if it is for us, unless it is against Collingwood.
-
Inside 50s are 14 - 5 this quarter.
-
That free and fifty on Saad was bs, don't like that sort of umpiring even if it is for us, unless it is against Collingwood.
They don't like players bouncing the ball when tackled. It was soft but given the ones we cop all the time it's about time we got a soft one in our favour.
-
Dusty brilliant kick. Higgo had Caddy open but found CCJ to give him his first chance of a goal on debut.
Just scrapes the inside of the post.
59 - 16
-
Now that deliberate free to us was BS lol.
-
Goal to them.
59 - 22
-
lol
The bombers are playing like shockers atm
-
Great slip catch mark by Baker running with the flight :clapping.
Getting a bit too cute again.
-
3/4 time
Richmond 1.2 4.7 8.11-59
Essendon 0.3 1.7 2.10-22
Goals: Lynch 2, Castagna 2, Higgins, Baker, Prestia, Bolton.
-
Grimes touches it on the line.
59 - 23
-
Goal to them.
59 - 29
C'mon Tiges. Don't switch off :banghead.
-
Essendon taking big risky kicks through the corridor. Paid off until then. Dusty finds Higgo 40 out. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 9.11-65
Ess 3.11-29
-
Grimes saves the day again on the line.
65 - 30
Bombers just knocking the ball on. We need to be smart and keep someone always behind every contest.
-
Balta dropped a sitter 40 out. Bombers run it down for a goal.
65 - 36
-
WTF! How is that HTB against Grimes after Francis was tackled and dropped it :banghead.
-
Wake up, Tiges! We've come out in the last quarter off. Sloppy disposal across HB gifts them goal :banghead.
65 - 42
-
got me stuffed...
-
BEllis back to his miserable self.
-
we are about to get overrun
-
Getting smashed in the clearances and too many Tigers ballwatching. No intensity.
Another one to them.
65 - 48
-
we are about to get overrun
Yet they are at least one if not two down on the bench. This is just soft. It's panic footy.
Point to them.
65 - 49
-
Got to win the ball in the centre and keep the pressure and intensity.
-
Lucky they missed again.
65 - 50
Bombers +13 contested and +6 clearances this qtr. We came out after 3/4 time thinking the game was won :banghead.
-
Wake up finish off the game.
-
This is slop by us.
-
Lynch has been off the whole last quarter. Anything wrong?
-
Got to steady and slow it down.
-
We're safe but still a pathetic last quarter.
-
Rushed point and then Rioli misses.
67 - 50
-
Kmac long and Rioli runs from the back of the pack to mark just before the siren.
Goal! :gotigers
We won by 23 points.
-
Lynch??? what happened?
-
Final Score
Richmond 1.2 4.7 8.11 10.13-73
Essendon 0.3 1.7 2.10 6.14-50
Goals: Lynch 2, Castagna 2, Higgins 2, Baker, Prestia, Bolton, Rioli.
-
They switched off in the last. Against a top 4 side that would result in a belting. I’m happy we banked the 4 points. I hope lynch is ok
-
Bachar won the Yiooken award for best on ground :clapping.
-
Lynch??? what happened?
Don't know but hoping isn't nothing serious :pray. I didn't see him with any ice on his body or legs.
-
Sort of expect at least one injury per week, certainly having one of the worst injury runs I can remember.
-

Yep. We came out after 3/4 time half asleep thinking the job was done. A lesson that you can't do that against any side. Thankfully it didn't cost us the 4 points (a missed chance for % though) and as you say lamington we bank another win which is the main thing given all our key outs. Move on now to Norf next week.
-
Wins that we bank against decent* opp are so valuable at this stage of the season and with our injuries.
That’s the biggest positive I take out of this game.
*Essendon count as reasonable I suppose.

Top 4 and premiership contenders wasn't it during the preseason :lol.
Bomber fans on their forum bomberblitz were talking all week about tonight being their season's grand final. Always fun to show them up as pretenders :yep. That's 9 wins in a row against the Dons :thumbsup.
-
It brings me great joy beating the bombers. This is definitely up there given our outs . Other great wins include getting on top when we had to win 9 in a row and of course Martin tearing them one in 2017

I watched those highlights and boy it wasn't pretty.
But not sure why seeing Stringer icing a hammy on the bench and Shiel indicating to the bench he had just strained his were highlights.
-
Im happy we are accumulating the 4 points. We are giving ourselves a chance to get to September where it becomes a 4 week season and anything can happen. A top 4 finish... and if we get our players back and in good form ... who knows ;D
-
Not a game for the time capsule - but it was a win full of admiration regardless.
Our system is holding up and to be 7-3 after the nightmarish injury/suspension run we have endured is just remarkable.
To see all these new blokes come in and they all have X factor - makes me realise how far we have come in the past decade.
-
It's definitely an open year. The Pies at full strength will/would be favourites but they are starting to get a few injuries. Right now for us is just about hanging in there and scoring as many wins as we can so we are in a position (high on the ladder, best players back & at top form) when it matters in September to have a genuine shot at it.
-
Watched the replay for the first time tonight, few things I noticed:
Umpires were so hot on us for “stepping off the mark” and calling play on; for blokes who seemingly hadn’t moved off the line (something I thought was the case live). Was annoying and more than slight disadvantage given the conditions. This occurred almost exclusively against us.
Higgo seems half a yard off it at the moment. He’s a polished player in that he finishes well etc but he’s not reading the play as well as he was last year.
Stack is a gun. Balta looking more and more like he’s ready to tear this competition apart. Baker looking like he’s found touch at the top standard.
Shedders was a little stiff and should have won another Yiookin. He will retire a legend of the club.
Dusty is back.
Edit: Prestia deserves a mention as well. Easily playing his most impactful footy since coming across.

-
Just shows how much our side has changed mostly due to injuries. Only 11 Tigers last Saturday night played in last year's Dreamtime game.
