Floss could miss next week according to Dimma. Ankle injury similar to Astbury's. Dimma said Floss is only a "probable".

It's one of those years  :P.

Don’t even know what to do. Bar 2-3 players at the absolute most everyone else was poor.

Astbury to come in if over his injury. Whoever is injured to go out. Other than that whoever stands out from the vfl replacing whoever plays in their position.

Suggest they can’t possibly play Lynch
Lowest ranking player so far this weekend
One possession inside F50 which was a free
Doesn’t ruck , please someone tell me what he does
Had enough of Castagna as well

With the delivery inside 50 its no surprise he had a quiet game. Like everyone else his pressure couldve been better.

For me Castagna must go, hope butler plays well.
May as well give Moore a go too.

Agree with the ins and outs - Bolton and Menadue performed better than half the team and deserve games. Higgins is way out of form and i just can't have Castagna in our team moving forward. Caddy to spend time playing as a mid and Townsend takes his spot forward. Would not be against Moore playing either...

Out: Higgins, Rioli (dropped or injured, it's time), Broad

On notice: Caddy, BEllis, Menadue. actually pretty much everyone is droppable bar a handful of guys

In: whoever deserves a game.

Lynch played 105 of 114 mins
5 disposals
Player on a VFL player who was 4 ins smaller wouldn’t be on any list anywhere
The amount of times Lynch gets to a contest and cannot mark is staggering
Watched Naughton closely last night , say no more

I think we may be going a bit overboard with the Lynch stuff.

Yeah, he was terrible. His defensive efforts are mostly terrible. That needs to change. But he's still working into it after a long lay off and has snagged us plenty of goals. Usually he's very imposing and his hands have been great apart from last night and round one.

If he cracks the sads again next week then he can have a run in the 2's tbh. Cal Moore can come in for a shot at the big time as long as he's doing enough in the 2s to warrant a gig.

But it was just one bad game...let's see what he serves up next week

Moore's a not key forward at AFL level - winger, defender, third tall / half forward, relief ruck in that order... :shh

Rubbish.  :shh

Literally never played on the wing. :shh :shh Haven't seen him play as a defender so can't comment there. Third tall yeah probably, but still big enough to have a run as a KPF and do it well

Not sure why Menadue is getting a bad wrap. Not a great game by him but he was solid. 15 possessions at 100% and second behind Vlastuin in intercepts.  Again not great but far from worst :shh

Nothing against him personally but a small/medium has to come out for Astbury against Freo as they have 3 marking forwards.

Ins- Townsend, Astbury

Outs- Bellis, Rioli (needs a rest)

Nank and Balta to rotate through the ruck and forward. Keep them quick changes and keep them involved in the game.
We must get Lynch isolated deep forward so he can lead at the footy. Start him on the goal line and push the flankers and pockets up to the square. Let our smalls swoop on the footy running at goals.
Bolton to a wing with stints in the middle.
Caddy to start in the middle at the start of quarters and after goals
Houli to play wing and forward.
Stack and Edwards as our running backs. Must tell them to run with the footy to break the lines. Take the game on.
Astbury CHB on Taberner and then Lobb when he rests forward.
Broad, Grimes and Vlastuin as our other backs.
Grimes on Hogan
Broad on McCarthy
Vlastuin as our intercept marker
Tag Fyfe with Townsend form the first bounce. Caddy to take him in the centre square. Townsend to take over during general play.
Dusty to be isolated deep forward when possible like Lynch.

That should do it.  :gotigers

Coleman McCarthy would kick 8 on Broad the way he's traveling I reckon.

stuff we miss Rance

McCarthy isn’t much chop.
Kicked 5 in the first game but been average since.

Give Broad first go but we always have Vlastuin up our sleeve.

In the Mix - Round 8

RICHMOND

Get them in: Classy small forward Dan Butler was named Richmond's best in the VFL after kicking three goals. Tom Lynch is crying out for another big body in the forward line, and hard-nut Jacob Townsend is in VFL good form. Father-son selection and half-back flanker Patrick Naish (23 disposals, one goal) is inching closer to a debut, as is draftee midfielder Riley Collier-Dawkins (18).

Under the pump: Forwards Tom Lynch (five disposals) and Josh Caddy (11 and one goal) were far from their best against the Bulldogs but will be safe due to a lack of other alternatives. Noah Balta struggled as a key back but was better when working up the ground and is needed as second ruck.

Medical room: It's just going from bad to worse for Richmond. Daniel Rioli has been playing sore for a couple of weeks with a succession of thigh corkies, and also got a knock to the ribs against the Dogs. Integral defender Nick Vlastuin rolled his ankle in a similar incident to fellow backman David Astbury last week.

Verdict: As much as coach Damien Hardwick might wish Geez was available for selection, it is much more likely Butler will come in for Rioli, who desperately needs a break. Astbury is expected to return, taking the spot of either Connor Menadue or Vlastuin if he doesn't recover in time

Premiership pair only 50/50 for injury-hit Tigers

AFL.com.au
Sarah Black

RICHMOND premiership players Nick Vlastuin and Daniel Rioli are 50/50 chances to face Fremantle this Sunday after suffering injuries over the weekend.

Intercept defender Vlastuin injured his ankle and left the ground for treatment during the disappointing loss to the Western Bulldogs but managed to play out the match.

Rioli has been battling after a series of knocks over the past few matches, with his latest issues a corked quad and general soreness.

The classy forward also played out the game but was noticeably limited in his movement.

The club has said key back David Astbury is considered a "probable" return this weekend after missing Saturday's loss with an ankle injury.

Big game this week for us and a big 4 weeks ahead with 4 very winnable games. (Freeo, Hawthorn, Essendon and North.

It would be nice going into the Geelong game 8 and 3 with Cotch and potentially Jack back.

Need things to turn around after last week's effort, elsewise I can see us losing plenty of these. Freo away, Hawthorn & Essendon a bit unpredictable, North a legit hoodoo side...
