Naturally.....:shh
-
As if that wasn’t intentional.
Would that have been a week with it was classed as Intentional, High, low contact?
-
Cheating Hocking, soldo got a week for less
-
This game could get very very nasty.
Geelong will want retribution for finals loss in 2017, if we get thrashed by them it will make a massive statement about where we are this year
-
At the MCG. Back us in to win this one which should get everyone in melt down on here back into compliment mode atleast until we lose our next game...
-
Trust the process. Dusty has his mojo back and cotch will be better for the game against north. Grimes had his colours lowered but won’t happen again. I think we’ll get through by a couple of goals. Would love to see dusty embarrass Tom Stewart again
-
“I’m not too sure if we’re too happy that they lost on the weekend, because obviously they will respond, like all good teams do,” Dahlhaus said.

The AFL website is tipping the Cats by 4 goals.
Match preview: Richmond v Geelong
AFL.com.au
Sarah Black
Jun 4, 2019
Where and when: MCG, Friday June 7, 7.50pm AEST
What it means for Richmond: An upset win over the top team in the competition would send a message that last week's disappointing loss was an aberration. It would also keep the Tigers in the top eight.
What it means for Geelong: The MCG has not recently been a happy hunting ground for Geelong when playing Richmond, and a win against a top-eight side would be a confidence booster ahead of September.
The stat: Richmond lost 20 of 21 matches to Geelong between 2001 and 2017, before breaking the streak in the qualifying final of that year. The Tigers have now won the past three games between the two clubs.
The match-up: David Astbury v Tom Hawkins
Hawkins is traditionally a match-up for Alex Rance, with Astbury looking likely to take the job. The Cat (ranked 33rd overall in the AFL Player Ratings) is in red-hot form, making it a tough task for Astbury (320th).
The in-form Tom Hawkins will prove a handful for David Astbury. Picture: AFL Photos
It’s a big week for: Richmond's midfield
Coach Damien Hardwick said the team was "smacked around" against North Melbourne, losing the contested ball by 22 and tackle count by 17. It's not going to be any easier against the likes of Cats Tim Kelly, Patrick Dangerfield and Joel Selwood.
Big call: In his second week back in the side after a hamstring injury, Trent Cotchin will find his feet and finish with 30 touches.
Prediction: Cats by 23 points

Chris Scott talking about us:
What have you made of Richmond’s form? It seems like the gap between its best and worst is bigger than it has been?
Maybe, but I think it highlights a couple of things, one is they don’t play at Marvel very often and their two worst performances of the year have been against the Bulldogs and on the weekend against North … the second thing is it highlights how finely tuned the competition is and if you take out some key players in any team you are going to come back to the field relatively quickly.
On Richmond as a team
They have been the best team over the last three years in my view so there is no risk of us underestimating them and in a lot of ways what they did last week is not really that relevant when you compare it to what they will probably do this week and we suspect they will play a lot better and make it really hard for us.

Geelong must be ready for fire-up Richmond
CAMERON MOONEY,
Geelong Advertiser
5 June 2019
EXPECT Richmond to respond on Friday night after its poor contest with North Melbourne.
The Tigers were so poor last week that the fact they didn’t come out in the first quarter knowing what the Roos were going to do was a little bit embarrassing.
They got absolutely bashed up around the ball, they got hunted, and I assume the big talking point this week will be their starts, because their start was really poor.
Their contested footy was poor too, so that’s going to require a huge step up against Dangerfield, Kelly and the likes through Geelong’s midfield.
Their inside-50 entries were also really poor, kicking high, long bombs, which for any forward is horrible.
Tom Lynch came under some criticism again this week and he wasn’t great against North Melbourne, but the inside-50s weren’t fantastic for him.
That’ll be a Mark Blicavs match-up, Blitz on Lynch. Blitz is arguably one of the best key defenders in the game, top two or three at worst and you could probably build a case for him being better than Jeremy McGovern at the moment.
His leadership qualities are unbelievable and he’ll be the next captain of the footy club whenever that may be, that’s how much his game has improved from a guy who was a steeplechaser.
Last Friday night, North Melbourne won the game by 17 tackles — absolutely bashed them — and it’s no coincidence the best teams are the best pressure teams.
You can always go with a team for a half or three quarters, but it’s whether Geelong can withstand that pressure for four quarters, because that’s what Richmond will bring in response to that loss.
But the shoe is on the other foot too. Can Richmond withstand what Geelong is bringing at the moment?
The Cats’ all-round pressure, the way they’re playing, is the best in the competition at the moment.
I think they’ve got so many factors driving them at the moment, Geelong, that I don’t think they’ll start poorly.
But the days of having 10-plus game winning streaks are over because the competition is so tight.
We’ve seen it over the last couple of years, any time a team gets to six, seven, eight wins, that’s generally where the winning streak ends.
That was evident for Collingwood against Fremantle and Richmond against North Melbourne.
So like the Tigers, who should have known that it was coming, you would hope the Cats know what’s going to come in that first quarter against Richmond, and hopefully they’re not asleep like Richmond were.
And this is just another great test for them on the MCG, and for me that’s probably the big factor.
It’s a test for the young guys; a big high-pressured game, the night will be dewy, so it will be a slippery and contested game.
Geelong doesn’t need another scalp, but a win would be great for confidence and reinforces to the young guys that a win on a big stage against a good team shows all the things the coaches have been talking about and preaching are working.
That would put just so much confidence through the team.
However, a loss isn’t going to be the end of the world.
I’ve always been a believer, particularly after a good winning streak, that a loss, while you don’t want them, they’re sometimes a good thing. It straightens your club up; it straightens your group up.
You may have just been covering a few gaps, because that’s what wins do. But it’s not a bad thing, particularly when you’re two games clear in the middle of the season.
Either way, the Cats really have nothing to lose, but all to gain.
Who plays on Dusty? Particularly on the weekend, Dusty spent more time forward because Cotchin came back into the side, and you saw him turn the game there with those two quick goals. When he’s in the midfield, how does Geelong work it? Do they put someone like a Cam Guthrie near him, knowing he’s going to run straight forward? I’ve got no problems with Guthrie playing back, but if the Cats want him playing midfield, there’s going to have to be a hand over. Jake Kolodjashnij or Tom Stewart would be the logical match-ups in defence. It’s going to be a fascinating watch.

MICK McGUANE,
Herald Sun
6 June 2019
GAME STYLE
Here’s what I wrote about the Cats leading into Round 1 — “I’d love to see their signature brand be ‘controlled ball movement’.
Clearly, that’s been their 2019 mode.
The coach has great admiration for Richmond — and rightly so.
He will have drummed into his players to expect the best from the Tigers tomorrow.
Damien Hardwick will preach two words — “contest” and “pressure”. On both fronts, against the best teams, pressure MUST be high and winning the contest MUST be the key.
That’s why controlling the ball is critical against Richmond.
I’m tipping a hyped-up, rebounding Tiger outfit at the MCG after such a poor showing against North last week.
Richmond will want a chaos game; Geelong will revert to controlled ball movement.
POSSESSION FOOTY
Geelong will have gone to school on Richmond’s losses this year.
The Tigers’ time in possession differential is compelling, with losses coming against Collingwood (-12.49), GWS (-7.19), Western Bulldogs (-13.46) and North Melbourne (-6.44).
On only two occasions — Port Adelaide (-7.11) and Sydney (-0.45) — have the Tigers lost the time in disposal differential and won the game.
In Round 2, the Magpies had 467 possessions (291 kicks) to the Tigers’ 302. In that game Collingwood took an astonishing 174 marks (159 uncontested).
It was a similar story in the Bulldogs’ win in Round 7 when they took 134 marks (115 uncontested).
This method takes the Tigers’ pressure game away from them.
So ball control MUST be a part of Geelong’s DNA tomorrow. The Cats have the lowest play-on percentage in the comp which is a far cry from the Mark Thompson days.
They like to be sure about what’s next, rather than playing with that reckless abandon that invites mistakes.
DIFFERENT ROUTE
What I didn’t predict in the pre-season was Geelong’s preference for boundary line ball movement from defensive 50.
The Cats have the AFL’s highest boundary line percentage from D50m — 62.7 per cent — and the least corridor percentage from D50 at 9.8 per cent.
They play safe and take fewer risks exiting from defensive 50m.
This method protects them on turnover, giving their defenders a chance to set up behind the ball.
If the ball does go over the boundary, it gives the team a chance to reset and allows their strength — “midfield dominance” — to get to work.
Tim Kelly, Patrick Dangerfield, Joel Selwood, Mitch Duncan, Brandon Parfitt and Cam Guthrie add to their contest game.
Their ability to hunt the ground ball is strong and they have great nous to swoop on the loose footy.
So are the Cats complacent? Or are they legitimate premiership contenders?
Tonight, at the MCG, we just might get a better indication.

Tigers brace for a Cats fight
Andrew Faulkner
The Australian
June 7, 2019
A week into a winter of discontent littered with discarded coaches, broken bones and score review bungles, football mercifully reclaims the spotlight tonight as rival powerhouses collide at the MCG.
Geelong versus Richmond is just what the game needs after the season-ending injuries to Jarryn Geary and Alex Pearce and the chatter about everything other than actual football.
A win for the Cats tonight would further stuff their premiership favouritism and potentially send the Tigers tumbling from the eight.
But the unsettled Tigers, who made four changes last night, will storm back into contention if they prove last week’s loss to North Melbourne was an aberration.
Geelong’s domination has Richmond coach Damien Hardwick speaking like a man in damage control.
Hardwick expects Tom Hawkins will kick goals against green defender Ryan Garthwaite, because, well, that’s what Hawkins does.
“(Garthwaite is) very competitive so he hates getting any goals kicked on him, but at 20 years of age, as a key defender, that’s going to happen,” Hardwick said at his press conference yesterday. Que sera sera.
Hardwick also volunteered that the Cats would “get hold” of the Tigers at some stage tonight.
As for blanketing Geelong’s running brigade — forget about it. The Tigers will be flat out limiting Gary Ablett’s influence, let alone all the other Geelong stars.
“Great players are great players,” Hardwick said. “We’ll manage Gary as best we can but the reality is he’s going to get touches.
“We’ve got Ablett. We’ve got (Patrick) Dangerfield. We’ve got (Tim) Kelly. We’ve got (Mitch) Duncan.”
The “we”, of course, refers to the poor Tigers charged with wresting midfield supremacy from the Cats.
That task is even more confronting given how much the Tigers were mauled in contested possessions (153 to 131) by North Melbourne last week.
“We were well off, but, to be fair, North Melbourne were outstanding,” Hardwick said.
“The Bulldogs taught us a lesson in that part of the game, as did North Melbourne. We bounced back both times.”
Only the Western Bulldogs are cleaner with their feet than Geelong. And the league leaders are the most accurate shots at goal in the competition.
So the Cats are top for a reason, Hardwick quite reasonably said. Actually, this is an understatement — they’re top for a multitude of reasons.
They’re also No 1 for goals, disposals per goal, goals per inside 50 and disposals inside 50m. To translate, they pump the ball forward a lot.
“We’ve got some challenges with regard to the way they play the game,” Hardwick said.
“They control the ball from the back half really well. They’re a bit of a slow build-up side, but they’re capable of scoring heavily in patches as well.
“There’s been patches of 10 minutes where they get hold of the opposition, so we’ve got to make sure we absorb that.”
And the best way to absorb that is to play the Richmond way — unlike last week when the sides apparently swapped jumpers before the match instead of after it.
“(North) played a very Richmond-type game,” Hardwick said. “Our group have a good understanding of what makes Richmond play at their best.

From Damian Barrett's Sliding Doors column:
IF ... I went early and ruled out a flag when Rance went down in round one only to reinstate them as a premiership chance after a six-from-seven winning sequence but then second-guessed after the bad loss to North ...
THEN ... clearly I have no idea. But we will all get to know where the Tigers are at after the game against Geelong.

Caddy to ruck..... :shh
We are desperate for fit players with our injuries then :-\ ;D.
-
Dusty vs Danger.
-
Great kick by Bakes.
Lynch sprays it OOTF. :P
-
How many times is Stanley allowed to drag Soldo down in the ruck?
-
Can't waste our F50 chances.
-
Dusty :gotigers
Good kick by Kmac.
Rich 1.0-6
Geel 0.2-2
-
Lynch is low on confidence. Missed two gettable shots for someone who is usually a good set shot.
-
Naish gets his first on debut :clapping :gotigers
Rich 2.1-13
Geel 0.2-2
-
You are an idiot ump. Bakes was trying to knock it forward not out of bounds.
-
Caddy sprays it OOTF.
Geez we've wasted about 4 clear goal chances so far.
-
Quarter time
Richmond 2.1-13
Geelong 0.2-2
Goals: Martin, Naish.
-
Should be at least four goals, two easy misses.
Good start but he boys. All have come to play. Kmac fires up too.
Cotchin leading from the front.
-
Attack on the footy obviously has been much better. If we're at least matching contested footy and winning on the outside then it usually means we're doing well.
Keeping Geelong goal-less in a quarter for the first time this year is a top effort defensively.
Wasted chances in front of goal. Need to make the most of them in very slippery and dewy conditions like tonight.
Kmac best on so far.
-
Geelong gets the generous umpiring ::).
13 - 9
-
Geelong defender gets spun around 360 in the tackle and it's called play on ::).
-
Geelong starting to win the 50/50s. A few mistackles too by us.
13 - 16
-
Soldo you are meant to shepherd Naish there not ballwatch.
13 - 22
Dumb footy this qtr. We're trying to grab the footy like it's dry while the Cats are just knocking and kicking it forward.
-
Pathetic start to the quarter, geelong has lifted and we cannot respond so far.
-
The difference in the game is we butcher the ball inside our F50 while Geelong make the most of theirs. We failed to make the most of our dominance in the 1st qtr and they are making us pay in the 2nd. Cats are now smashing us in the middle.
-
This qtr is like last week. Mistackle after mistackle allow the opposition to get out in space and goal :banghead.
-
That was a goal ::).
Another goal review joke :banghead
-
This small forward thing just ain't working anymore. Higgins, Rioli, Butler, Castagna just not working. We gotta change
Goal review system a complete joke by the wsy
-
Just kick it off the ground in the goalsquare in these conditions.
Dusty hits the post.
16 - 34
-
This small forward thing just ain't working anymore. Higgins, Rioli, Butler, Castagna just not working. We gotta change
Too many of them out of form.
-
Exhibit A: Butler. Having another mare.
You can't win when you gift goals like that :banghead.
-
Dan Butler can be delisted right now after this game.
-
as if the umpiring isn't enough to send me to an early grave, dipshittery like that happens...pins him on the friggen tit in front of his goal, wtf is he on ice?
-
Lynch dud. :banghead :banghead
-
How many stuffing incorrect disposals do they get away with, soon as we do it, we get pinged
-
Lynch has been a dud
-
Can Soldo not tap it Geelong's way all the time.
-
Vlaustin marks, gets taken out below the knees and poleaxed mid mark...are you stuffing kidding me.....wtf
-
Are they stuffing serious????
-
That is the worst quarter of football we've played since 2016.
-
Punished again on the counter for being dumb.
Mind you it was below the knees contact ::).
Half-time
Richmond 2.1 2.4-16
Geelong 0.2 7.4-46
Goals: Martin, Naish.
That quarter was dumb and pathetic by us as much as the umps.
-
Did you guys see what just happened to Vlaustin while he was marking? Rata literally slid through his legs and took him out, not even contesting the mark I can't stuffing believe he got no free for that
-
Dan Butler can be delisted right now after this game.
Butler has 8 tackles to half time.
-
We gave all the momentum to the Geelong flog players and basically let the do whatever they wanted.
I fear for what this year holds for us. Finals would be a great effort from here.
-
Geelong marking everything and we can’t mark anything. Not even our million dollar dud can mark an easy ball when he’s 5 metres in the clear. Rubbish.
That and the umps paying us not one regulation free kick and can’t even get a score review correct and that’s the match for you. Our good tackling in the first went out the window in that second quarter. We won’t win when we give no heat.
Unless we can start marking the footy it’s going to be a long night.
Ratigilau is killing it for them and therefor killing us.
-
What sort of goal review system leaves out the only camera angle that showed it was a goal? :banghead
-
Can anyone stuffing explain the goal review decision to me? Are they stuffing blind or just stuffing with us?
-
Houli and Butler auditioning for the tin man role
-
Did you guys see what just happened to Vlaustin while he was marking? Rata literally slid through his legs and took him out, not even contesting the mark I can't stuffing believe he got no free for that
And guess what they got a goal with seconds left.. So stuffing typical
-
Dan Butler can be delisted right now after this game.
Butler has 8 tackles to half time.
That's because he's second to the ball. He's soft and a turnover merchant. Don't know what's happened to him, 2017 he was amazing. Small forwards have to be dangerous goalkicking threats and he was but hasn't been for ages
-
Did you guys see what just happened to Vlaustin while he was marking? Rata literally slid through his legs and took him out, not even contesting the mark I can't stuffing believe he got no free for that
We just don’t get the free kicks owl. Its like the rules dont apply when it’s against us. It’s a bloody joke. :banghead
I think it’s tome for one of your famous umpire rants. :rollin
-
Missing jack and Nank big time. They have a tall which can mark the long down the line exit kicks. Same happened with Cox in prelim and naughton. We need a mobile tall to actually clunk marks and not just let them play kick mark footy
-

I am no fan at all. Second to the ball is definitely his game.
-
Butler has just gotten back though from a long layoff. He was slightly ahead of Castagna once upon a time. I think that foot has messed him a bit. He will need some time and games to get his poo together I spose.
-

what was his layoff?
he's been fit all year, was just dropped to the 2's. now he's back and showing why he was dropped.
-

I hate not backing our players, but Butler just rubs me wrong. He is a momentum killer.
-
Did you guys see what just happened to Vlaustin while he was marking? Rata literally slid through his legs and took him out, not even contesting the mark I can't stuffing believe he got no free for that
Yep we're getting screwed by the umps once again. Frees 6 - 10.
Below the knee contact against Floss.
Clear goal disallowed because the reviewer looked at every angle except the one that showed a clear goal ::).
Dropped mark paid to Ratugolea in front of the sticks.
Having said that we're doing ourselves no favours. Smashed in and around the contest like last week:
(Geelong has regularly been first to the ball, leading 27-13 in hard ball gets, 23-15 in post-clearance loose ball gets and 88-65 in contested possessions), wasting our F50 entries mostly with wishful bombs, and leaking goals on the rebound and D50. Pathetic to score just 3 behinds from 13 entries in the 2nd qtr while the Cats kicked 7.2 (9 shots) from just 12 entries.
-
In better news, Ash Barty is in to the French Open final.
Now if our players could just dig deep like she did, when can win this game.
-
Rioli a couple of pee poor attempts to tackle that quarter.
If you cannot get a kick at least stick your tackles.
He almost looks disinterested to me.
-
Missing jack and Nank big time. They have a tall which can mark the long down the line exit kicks. Same happened with Cox in prelim and naughton. We need a mobile tall to actually clunk marks and not just let them play kick mark footy
We didn't (perhaps couldn't on form) bring another tall in when Astbury went out. Forces Balta back which IMO is his weakest position right now and doesn't allow us the flexibility to move him (such as into the ruck when Soldo is spudding it up like he was in that 2nd qtr).
-
Look umpires given us a hard time. But gez hit a target and don't waste our forward entrys and just silly mistakes basic stuff.Midfield can't deliver a entry.
-
Rioli a couple of pee poor attempts to tackle that quarter.
If you cannot get a kick at least stick your tackles.
He almost looks disinterested to me.
Not defending him but our tackling efforts as a team that quarter were hopeless. Geelong players breaking multiple tackles in a row to break into space :banghead. What happened to us pinning the arm! If you can't do the basics of the game then you going to win.
-
They kick them we don't tonight :banghead.
17 - 52
-
we just go to poo after some crap decisions a and a bit of pressure. We look like we have put the cue in the rack
-
So different from 2017, miss those hungry unrelenting bastards
-
Time to grease our creases, its gonna get ugly
-
This is disgusting
-
That's 10 in a row to Geelong.
It's getting a little embarrassing effort wise
-
Hawkins gets all his marks on leads- play Grimes on him and put Balta on the ball. Balta looks lost in the backline.
-
Why are we falling over all the time? :banghead
-
This is a 2016 type effort
-
Too many injuries is now hurting us. Players out of form getting games and our young cubs look tired and really need the bye to rest up. Incredible how many Tiger players have gone to ground and so easily out of the contest. We've run out of juice since quarter time.
This could be a 100 point pumping :help.
-
stuffing Ducker
-
Finally kicked one after giving up 11 in a row.
Lynch goal.
Rich 3.5-23
Geel 11.8-74
-
That’s more like it.
I want to see more of that from Lynch. :clapping
-
I’m going to back Lynch to be good for us in the long term but jeez we need him to be on from
The start tonight. Can’t wait for jack to return
-
Lynch could have had 5 tonight. Yet kicked 1.3 and one OOTF. Really down on confidence. You can see it in his face and his run up.
-
Rioli inclusion was a mistake bad look rewarding bad form and how on earth Butler still there from last week.Lynch copping all the crap open your eyes there's more then half dozen seniors coasting around.Team lacks height big time mistake again not bring in height.
-
Man soldo’s leap is reminiscent of maric’s in his twilight years
-
lol nice shepherd from the stuffwit umpire after a pox bs free decision, goal geebung
-
This is as bad we’ve played since 2016.
Terrible. I think it was bound to happen. We shouldn’t of lost last week to the nomads.
-
im done
-
The return of the dark days.
This looks like a 100 point belting
-
We have a lot of work to do. Too many rubbish players playing and are not up to it.
Soldo is rubbish but what else have we got. Maybe we should just use CCJ instead and see how he goes. At least he can actually mark the footy.
Hate to state the obvious but we need more inside mids. We’ve known this for a while and we were exposed last preliminary final.
-
Can someone tell Cotchin to stand the stuff up!
-
Only we could give away a free kick when we have the ball with 2 seconds to go.
-
I hate Friday night footy.
-
Can someone tell Cotchin to stand the stuff up!
He’s not the only one falling over. It’s like a disease
-
We need to hide in the 4:40 Saturday timeslot for a month or so
-
Watching Houli closely tonight...my god he panics at every occasion :banghead
Absolutely smashed tonight. We need the bye and players back and in a hurry.
-
we are cooked lads regardless who is playing
Lucky to have 7 wins

Rioli inclusion was a mistake bad look rewarding bad form and how on earth Butler still there from last week.Lynch copping all the crap open your eyes there's more then half dozen seniors coasting around.Team lacks height big time mistake again not bring in height.
The only choice height wise was to bring in Chol or CCJ. Neither are key defenders to replace Astbury nor had good games in the VFL last week.
It all starts in the middle. We've been ordinary this year but it's been magnified in recent weeks. Nank and Lambert have been massive losses. We've been smashed in the guts two weeks in a row.
Forward-mid "connection" has been dysfunctional all year too. Jack's agility and ground level skills bought time for the smalls to get to the fall of the ball and brought them into play. Lynch on the other hand is an old school marking forward especially post his PCL injury. Our smalls need to be front and square but they are being caught up field while Lynch is left isolated. If he doesn't mark it then it's an easy rebound for the opposition. Our whole forward set-up without Jack needs to re-jigged.
All up we look tired and our structures have fallen to pieces. The dam wall has busted with our injuries. Wish we had the BYE next week. The Crows over there will rip us apart as well :(.
-
Let’s be honest, how demoralising is it to have so many inside 50’s and our smalls can’t do damage at ground level. We have no attacking small forwards, we must be coached to kick it long and ignore quality leads because we do it every week with the same result. We never have guys front and centre attacking the footy, we try to man up and defend the defender. Once it gets locked in it gets congested and our lack of talent and creativity gets exposed!

BS- he dives on the ball to much instead of bending over and picking it up- it’s a lack of confidence thing. 2016 poo all over again.
-
When the fitness staff stated early in the season they’d take it real slow with a slow build they weren’t joking. :rollin
-
According to the AFL website, that is our lowest 3 qtr time score against the Cats in 94 years.
-
Bloody Bruce McAvaney, this bloke must dream of sliding into the post match Geelong bubble bath!
-
No pressure no Richmond.
Our pressure brings down the opposition.
-
Can't we shoot from beyond 30 out?
-
We couldn't hit a side of a barn tonight. Goalkicking has been pathetic.
-
There literally should be 6 changes next week
Higgins (absolutely cannot play)
Butler (season done)
Townsend (confidence shot, Dimmas fault)
Soldo (play CCJ)
Rioli (shadow of former self)
Castagna (can't kick)
-
Well actually put one between the two big sticks for a change. Butler goal.
Rich 4.7-31
Geel 15.8-98

How can Bolton and Menadue not be playing in this team.
-
Floss may be injured as well.

How can Bolton and Menadue not be playing in this team.
I think ability and lack of ticker has a lot to do with it in Menadue’s case.
-
Tell me why Josh Caddy is playing in the ruck??
Why not play another tall and have Balta play second ruck where he's excelled all year.
Coaching and selection quite ridiculous again
-

As outside runners I don't think they would've made a difference when we've been smashed around the contest.
-
Can’t believe I took the morning off work to watch this shat. That’ll do, off back out to work.
Various players need to get parts of their game worked on through the week but hopefully Lynch can work on ALL aspects of his game.
-
Hardwick may have already conceding in his mid week press conference.
Players gave up after the 1st quarter.
-
George junk time goal.
Rich 5.7-37
Geel 16.8-104
-
Not a fan of Geelong but I think Scott makes you hate them more for some reason.
I’m not sure what it is but i think it’s his face.
Let’s beat them again in a final.
-
Injuries taking their toll. expected and no two ways about it. need to get players back

Blame Chol's woeful 'effort' in the VFL. He had a one-off blinder the week before and yet knowing a senior position was there for the taking put in one of his worst non-trying games against North's ressies.
We've run out of players to pick on merit due to our long injury list. We've got blokes in the seniors getting games when they shouldn't be. There's no pressure on spots at the moment.
-
Siren was a mercy call.
Final Score
Richmond 2.1 2.4 3.6 5.7-37
Geelong 0.2 7.4 15.8 16.8-104
Goals: Naish, Martin, Lynch, Butler, Castagna.
We had more inside 50s by the way.

Who could have played the key back role? Not many options unfortunately.

He's not short on ability, has a lovely leg and good vision. But he sleeps with the light on, let's be honest about it. He's not on his own.

Perhaps he learnt this from some of his mates, you may be familiar with some of them :shh

Yes, when it's Brando's turn to stay up with him.
The lads take turns supervising Menadue at night while he has his head unders the covers muttering "I played a great game but they dropped me" over and over...

He was lucky to be given a 1 year contract this year and with about 5 fit players to choose from our entire list, he didn’t get a gig tonight.
His papers are stamped.

Cool story. Not one to bag our players (Except Houli) but Ellis is extremely soft which is a shame as he does have some ability. The Club should definitely move him on at the end of the year.

Vlastuin Injured???
On social media it's saying he went off with ribs. Not sure how he is though.
Lucky to not have his legs broken due to that sliding tackle that he didn't even get a free from and lead to Geelong's goal right before half-time.
-
Just got home
Exceptionally disappointing night, terrible performance.
Should have been at a minimum 4 goals up at qtr time.
Too many were MIA after qtr time

One day you'll get a nibble.
In the fullness of time, grasshopper. Just keep trying to grab the pebble :cheers

Our forward line and midfield look so out of whack. We recruit a monster forward ask him to bring ball to ground :banghead yet his best attributes in his game is a lead up forward as we seen in the Port game.Play Balta back half don't even bring in another tall.We are to concerned to what we do without the ball now then what we do with it in hand.
-
Disgraceful performance.
I said it last week. We are in big trouble peoples.
About time all you clowns use your ears and let reality sink in.
End of story.
-
We have half our best 22 missing. Of course, there was going to be a tipping point.
We kicked at just 52% efficiency last night. So every second kick missed its target.
-
Shame we didn't put some more players on the LTI, like Rance, maybe even Shorty.
Pick up a KPD and a big bodied mid. Maybe a KPF also...
Instead we picked up one bloke for next year.

Geelong were virtually at full strength. The amount of players we have missing through injury is incredible. We have to accept it is extraordinarily difficult to cover the calibre of players who are missing through injury.

Why Richmond should be particularly concerned with Geelong smashing
By SEN
8 June 2019
Former Port Adelaide midfielder Kane Cornes feels Richmond has a lot to be concerned about after last night’s big loss to Geelong.
The Cats kicked 16 goals three after quarter time to smash the Tigers by 67 points and Cornes feels Richmond’s injuries have finally caught up to them.
“A couple of weeks ago I said Richmond was right in the premiership hunt and that five clubs had separates themselves from the rest, but now they’re right back in the pack,” he told SEN’s Crunch Time.
“They come to Adelaide next Thursday night which is always difficult and the injuries are just mounting up.
“Caddy as their second ruckman last night, that’s bottom four style the way they’re playing, how can you have Caddy as your second ruckman?
“Geelong were dominant around the footy, they kicked five centre bounce goals again last night.
“There’s some massive concerns for Richmond, but I guess it’s as expected with the amount of quality missing from their side.
“Even their better players are just being swamped with the pressure of having to do it all themselves and I just thought their better players were poor last night.
“Cotchin went at 27 per cent by foot last night … Prestia was 31 per cent, Martin was just at 40 per cent and Caddy 25 per cent, while all of Geelong’s prime movers went above 60 per cent.”
Richmond sits sixth on the ladder with seven wins, but has the lowest percentage of any team in the top 11 at 94.5.
They take on Adelaide in South Australia on Thursday night, before heading into the bye.
