Is Cogs under the pump or is everyone overreacting to one poor game? He wasn't Robinson Crusoe last week.

Coughlan is a best-and-fairest winner. He's an old-fashioned footballer, a dying breed if you ask some, but he is too good a player to perform poorly two weeks in a row, and in fairness to him he had a lot of teammates below par last week.
Coughlan is at his best when it's tight and tough and he gets that tonight against the Saints. Last week the Bulldogs blew Coughlan's Tigers off the park with sheer pace.
Tonight's opponent suits Coughlan and Co because the Saints have Ball, Robert Harvey, Lenny Hayes, Nick Dal Santo, Stephen Powell, Andrew Thompson and Steven Baker. It'll be heavy going, which is where Coughlan thrives.

i think its too early to tell still.
he did struggle for pace last week but i dont think there are any faster teams around than the bulldogs.
There will be some good opportunities for match ups this week against the saints.

Honestly, I wouldn’t know jack, but anyway… While injury may explain some things, he could also be suffering from the trademark ‘comfort zone’, which seems to afflict players at all clubs, at some stage in their careers. When Cogs first came into the team, he had all the encouragement and motivation in the world to play well and earn a regular senior spot. That intensity he had in his game, early in his career, now seems like a distant memory. You just wonder why.
Prior to TW’s arrival, it’s probably fair to say we were pretty much directionless, on the field. And, to be fair, the last couple of years would have been a big learning curve for all players, individually and collectively, as there’s been lots to contend with, in terms of new coaching staff, game plans, players and even added responsibility for some. Maybe that’s no real excuse for anything, but it must take its toll on some players, to some degree.
Things will gradually work themselves out and the next couple of seasons will sort out those who have the ability, motivation and commitment to keep their AFL careers alive.
Like Bull said, it’s too early to tell anything yet.
