Wow saints are juicy odds and we play like crap at Etihad.
I'd like to think we win this game but I'm not sure it will happen

:thumbsup
Saints would be favourites surely
Did you see how putrid they were against the Suns?
Yes they won but that's got more to do with GC not knowing how to win
Our VFL side would have beaten the Saints
-
They were terrible, but they can play OK and its at Marvel.
And I like to stand up the back and barrack at that cesspit all doe's not bode well.
Might just watch on TV :shh

No, I don't watch non tiger games anymore. I've watched our last 2 at Etihad against similar teams in Dogs and Kangas and we were putrid in both.
We do not play well at that ground. Coming off a bye with injured players coming back. Danger game for sure.

Hannebery likely to play this week for the Saints.
Steele and Carlisle could also play against us.

you can add to that jack wont be playing and this is a 50/50 game.

And we play like shyte at the Dome. Very worried about this one. Very high stakes.

Since 2012 we have played there 23 times for 13 wins and 10 losses

Since 2012 we have played there 23 times for 13 wins and 10 losses

Since 2012 our overall record is 90 - 55 (win rate of 62%). Over that same period we only win 56.5% at the Dome - fairly significant factor.
Over that time our average ladder position is between 5-6, whilst St. Kildas is 14.
So coming into this game, with our respective seasons this tight, and considering our historic penchant for losing crucial games to lesser favoured opposition, yes this merits as a tremendous danger game.

Not having Riewoldt is a huge loss. I felt that he always was driven to not be the Danni Minogue of the Riewoldt so he was able to always find and extra gear when going against Nick. We haven’t kicked 100 points in a while now so even though I like to be optimistic with al games I fear we will get blown away with a 4th quarter fade out like the last few weeks
-
As tasty as the odds are, I’m pretty sure even with Haneberry and Carlisle - we should be too strong for them.
If we lose this one, it’s 2003 all over again
-
Will we be facing another team after they sack their coach? Hopefully the Saints give Richardson another week. St Kilda are rubbish and probably famous last words but if we lose to them then we don't deserve to play finals. Us coming off the Bye, playing at the Docklands, or them starting fired up should not be an excuse given we're coming off 3 straight losses ourselves. We have no reason to be complacent (we're not 11-1 Geelong). We should come out fired up ourselves against what should be an inferior opponent over 4 quarters.
-
The AFL website has us winning this by 10 goals :o.

Match preview: St Kilda v Richmond
AFL.com.au
Dinny Navaratnam
Jun 25, 2019
Where and when: Marvel Stadium, Sunday June 30, 1.10pm AEST
What it means for St Kilda: A couple of disastrous performances in their past three matches means the Saints need to return to the stifling, defensively sound form on show earlier in the year.
What it means for Richmond: Three straight losses have the Tigers stumbling. A mounting injury toll has proven a tough obstacle, but they need to reverse the results to ensure they feature come September.
The stat: Richmond averages 14.2 fewer contested possessions per game than its opponent, ranked last in the competition.
The match-up: Tom Lynch v Jake Carlisle
Lynch has copped his fair share of criticism this year but was in the rehab group for most of pre-season, as was Carlisle, who returned in the loss to Brisbane after back surgery. He looked rusty, so it could be an intriguing duel between a couple of big names not quite in top form.
It's a big week for: Alan Richardson
The pressure has been bubbling away for the coach all season but it's ramped right up after the diabolical outing against the Lions. His football manager, Simon Lethlean, put the Saints' inability to beat teams above them on the ladder on the agenda, so while the Tigers enter round 15 outside the top eight, their credentials make them a scalp, something Richardson badly needs for his job security.
Big call: Richmond to end this one early with a blistering opening term, booting nine goals to one as Dustin Martin cuts the Saints to shreds.
Prediction: Tigers by 62 points

We all know this won't happen
-
Playing for their coach, will not be a blowout and if we don't take our chances could easily be 4 losses on the trot. We don't have a great record following a bye so don't see us blitzing them in the 1st.
-
We are going to ram our knobs so far up there respecrive clackers it will come out of their mouths. Richmond by 163 points
-
No need to bring the sunnies on Sunday. The roof will be shut.

Totally agree.

Barrett's 'Sliding Doors' comment about us this week:
IF ... four of the seven ins for the game against St Kilda are premiership players, including the skipper Cotchin ...
THEN ... the season relaunch clearly begins on Sunday at Marvel Stadium against the Saints.

Yep i’m not going either. Cannot stand the place.
Thinking of going up to watch them next week instead.

Great results so far this weekend with most teams around us losing
-
Great results so far this weekend with most teams around us losing
We now need to make the most of it and not treat a side lower than us on the ladder lightly and blow the chance of a top 8 spot like Port did last night. The first 10-15 minutes are going to be red hot after the Saints have been all in the media this week after their thumping by Brisbane and with their coach's head on the chopping block. We just can't think with Cotch and co. back that it's all just going to click. We're going to have to fight for this in the clinches and win the contested footy so we're not starting most of our attacks from our defence, if we want to come away with the 4 points.
-
3 goals to St Kilda off our turnovers in 10 minutes :banghead.
9 inside 50s for no score ::).
They've turned up to play and we haven't :banghead.
-
Why is it whenever we play the Saints lately they are always the most accurate they’ve ever been. :banghead
-
Stack up forward. I like it.
Maybe we need two of him.
-
Stack up forward. I like it.
Maybe we need two of him.
We need a lot of him
He’s a superstar
-
Stuff me we have some cowards. How many times do we have guys camped under the ball only to stick a single arm up to knock it on. Talk about afraid of contact!
-
Can someone tell George to get the mitts out in front in a marking contest. 2 times in a row, you’re not Wayne Carey mate!
-
Wrong mindset to fancy not doing the basics and basic skills we can't execute at times.Alot of people thought it would be smooth sailing with players back was never convinced. We have become a team that is to interested what we do off the ball instead when we go it in hand.
-
Embarrassing our kids Bog by a mile seniors just watching them.
-
Too many bad players to mention so I will only mention the ones I think have done well up to halftime
Stack - BOG.
Chol - very good. Much better so far.
Grimes is solid in defence.
Although Martin Lambert Cotchin and Prestia are getting the footy they are butchering the ball by hand and foot especially inside 50. :banghead
-
WTF is up with Caddy, 3 possessions to half time!
Rioli and Castagna the same!
-
WTF is up with Caddy, 3 possessions to half time!
Rioli and Castagna the same!
Weighed down by the weight of a premiership medal and are not prepared to work as fanatically as they did in 2017. I think Rioli has been the biggest disappointment out of the three of them.
I also think the loss of Riewoldt has impacted more by the fact he doesn’t put up with substandard forwards not applying pressure and doing their job. His loss had been significant.
-
Queue the Benny Hill music every time Ellis comes into frame!
-
Thanks ump for that momentum breaking gift of a goal to St Kilda ::). Saint player ducks his head and the ump gifts him a free when we were out on the break :scream.
-
Umps just inventing stuff the last 5 minutes.
-
This game shows how far we’ve fallen back into our old pre ‘17 habits.
Without the manic physical pressure and intimidation we’ve come accustomed to we really aren’t that good.
-
The around the corner kick with no angle 15 metres out it is a joke
-
Extremely unskilled and dumb. Umps aren’t much better at the moment.
-
Stack is a stuff. First time playing forward at AFL level and kicks 4 goals.
Looks like that's the sealer. Out to 33 pts.
Take the win but it shouldn't take a final quarter blitz to beat this St Kilda side.
Edit: Back to 27 after that terrible defending :P.
-
Classic Bachar... honestly, was that adult level football. The skill error is terrible but the thought process to create the error is what baffles me.
-
Final Score
Richmond 2.0 6.2 9.4 16.7-103
St Kilda 3.0 7.0 8.3 10.10-70
Goals: Stack 4, Lynch 3, Chol 3, Ellis, Castagna, Rioli, Caddy, Bolton, Graham.
-
Stack & Chol both excellent. Bachar needs another rest possibly.
Will take that after a bye and Marvel.
Umpiring not great, thought we were on the wrong end of a few.
Saints after half time played into our hands just so slow. Pretty dumb footy when game is even.
-
Dusty awarded B.O.G.
-
What was Jackstar saying about Chol
-
Good win even though we have a long way to go.
Houli trying his best the whole game to get st kilda over the line :banghead
-
Got the win with no injuries ... tick ...
next ...
-
Breaking even in inside 50's with 48 apiece, and conceding 46 more marks than they took, the Tigers were able to capitalise on recording 92 groundball-gets to 76 for the Saints, and kicking five more goals from Intercept Possessions to run over the top in the second half.

-
Just happy we won.
-
Dusty awarded B.O.G.
Obviously awarded based on quantity of possession not quality
Butchered alot of his disposals today
-
Great 4 points. Puts us back in amongst it. Stack will be our best aboriginal footballer since maurice rioli.
-
Will take the 4 points anyway we can get them after the past few games but we need to seriously improve if we are to first qualify for September and second do anything meaningful when there.
Specifically our defence on transition was horrible especially that first half (think that’s how they scored their first 6 goals) and our forward 50 entries which improved 100 fold in Q4.
