Caddy was selected to play this week but rolled his ankle and they decided to rest him so he may come in to replace Cotchin.

Yes soldo did well tonight but nank is an automatic selection when fit and Chol is proving a very handy 2nd ruck.

'Nank' waiting in the wings as Tigers face pleasant ruck dilemma

RICHMOND will likely welcome back first-choice ruckman Toby Nankervis next week, leaving the Tigers with a pleasing selection problem with its big men department.
Nankervis played in the VFL for Richmond on Friday night, in what was his second game back after a long-term groin injury.
But coach Damien Hardwick faces a squeeze, after being pleased with ruck duo Ivan Soldo and Mabior Chol's efforts in subduing Collingwood star Brodie Grundy in Friday night's win at the MCG.
Although Grundy dominated the ruck contests, registering 36 hitouts to the Richmond pair's combined 20, he managed only nine disposals.
It was Grundy's lowest possession tally in a game since round seven, 2016.
Chol and Soldo both kicked a goal and had an impact around the ground, in an effort that Hardwick said was important as the Tigers recorded their fifth straight win.
"I was really happy with our big boys. Grundy is obviously a really good player, but I thought Soldo and Mabior did a pretty good job on him," Hardwick said post-game.
"We were really happy with their performance. We got a couple of goals out of those boys and 17 disposals out of them so we wanted to go to work on [Grundy] as best we can because he's so important in the way they play."
Hardwick said Nankervis, who was the club's ruckman in its 2017 premiership, is likely to return against Melbourne next Saturday night.
"'Nank' will put his hand up to play. He got through a half again today – I'm not exactly sure how much he did play – but he's also very important to us," he said.
"You probably think he puts his hands up to come back in the side."
The Tigers will need to replace captain Trent Cotchin (hamstring) next week, and could bring back Josh Caddy after he hurt his ankle this week, ruling him out of selection.
Midfielder Jack Ross (ankle) is also expected to be available, while mid-season draft recruit Marlion Pickett will play his first game in Richmond colours in the VFL next week after joining the club with a finger injury.

Out Cotchin and Houli
Both Injured
Ins . McIntosh and ?
-
Houli injured?
-
INS: Caddy, MacIntosh, Nankervis
OUTS: Cotchin (inj), Soldo, Baker
Steady on WP, with those ins not many D supporters will turn up😂😂
-
Houli injured?
Right quad/ hammy heavily bandaged in last quarter
They may rest him ? Manage him
-
If Houli is injured, I'd bring in Caddy for him and push Stack back to Houli's spot.
I reckon Chol needs a rest, so I'd bring Nank in for him. Melbourne are as slow as treacle, so I'd seriously consider bringing in Naish ordare I say it Menadue to really stretch them outside.
-
Gawn is a huge man, will likely be hard work for Nank. If he only played half a game again then why not play Soldo one more week?
-
I reckon Chol needs a rest,.
Not this nonsense again...... :facepalm

And then follows it up with bring Menadue back. 💩
Not even Menadue’s parents could make a claim for their son to come back in ever!
-
I’d be surprised if Ellis plays again.
I reckon he needed a fresh set of jocks every quarter.
Maybe he should seek a Huggies sponsorship. :rollin

That one handed attempt early in the game was embarrassing

I was at the game and saw it live, and when I watched the replay yesterday it didn’t do it justice.
Pathetic yet the norm from him.

Out Cotchin, Ellis, Chol
In McIntosh, Caddy, Nankervis.

I agree he's been great. But Nank can do more than he can and also play forward. I think Soldo is a better match up for Gawn.
-
I love Nank, but the Soldo combined Chol ruck is working well and our midfield is loving it to why change the combination.Alot of people saying drop Soldo, but his our best tap ruckman by a mile and we have struggled against quality rucks in past big time.

Soldo cannot be dropped on present form
His tap work is excellent. Crashes packs . He stays at present time

Couldn't help but notice Jack, Tom & a resting Marbs all sharing the forward line in the wet & coming out on top. Who said it couldn't work? :gotigers
-
Nankervis only played half a game again on the weekend. How will he be fit enough to come into the top side??

All are agile for talls, especially Jack!

Soldo is nothing more than a stopgap to the Big Nank.
If he is ready, Soldo makes way.
Some may remember Nank is a premiership ruckman and last year we were the favourites basically the entire year for another until we had a shocker in the prelim.
Our best side has Nank in it and Chol has come from the clouds to show that he is more than capable as a backup.

Agreed and people need to realise it wasn’t soldos tap work that helped neutralise Grundy although he kept him honest by competing, it was more our midfielders reading him and sharking the tap as the commentators mentioned several times.

Doesn't really matter what we think, I will leave it to the pros to work out the best combination. They have earn't my trust so far.

RICHMOND
Get them in: Once again, a few selection headaches of the good kind for the Tigers. Premiership ruckman Toby Nankervis has played two halves of VFL footy over two weeks in his return from a torn adductor. Kamdyn McIntosh had 14 touches in a wet VFL game playing a defensive role, while Connor Menadue was named the Tigers' best for the second week with 27 and a goal.
Under the pump: Despite a strong showing against Brodie Grundy, Ivan Soldo could be the one to make way for Nankervis. Mabior Chol was quiet in conditions not suited to talls, but his forward work should save him.
Medical room: Skipper Trent Cotchin will be sidelined once again with a hamstring injury. Josh Caddy (ankle) should be available, while Damien Hardwick said Jack Ross (syndesmosis) and Marlion Pickett (finger) may play VFL.
Toyota WorkHorse Verdict: Soldo to make way for Nankervis, while Caddy is the likely replacement for Cotchin.

Dimma has confirmed today that Nank is playing VFL again this weekend.
---------------------------------------
RICHMOND premiership ruckman Toby Nankervis will be forced to wait another week for his return after being ruled out of Saturday night's clash with Melbourne.
Nankervis will instead play in the VFL for a third consecutive week as he continues his comeback from a groin injury that kept him sidelined for two months.
"The significance of his injury with the position he plays ... with the ability of him to be competitive in the ruck contests, we just feel it would be a really good decision for us to give him an extra week," coach Damien Hardwick said on Thursday.

Has anyone ever seen Chol win a hit out? He still needs work IMHO.

Yes
He actually scored a goal after grabbing it from a hit out
I'm sure there is more as well

He gets up nicely in the ruck, love watching him leap at the footy
