Title: State league mature age prospects?
Post by: one-eyed on November 20, 2019, 02:15:40 PM
We've done very well in the past with picking up a few mature state league players. Lambert, Broad & Pickett come straight to mind as our premiership players.

Mitch Hibberd: (Williamstown, 22).
Nick Ebinger (Williamstown, 22)
Joel Ottavi (Williamstown, 23)
Campbell Hustwaite (Collingwood, 19)
Sam Glover (Collingwood, 22)
Sam Fisher (Northern Blues, 21)
stuff Anderson (Northern Blues, 22)
Will Fordham (Frankston, 22)
Mitch McCarthy (Frankston, 22)
Sam Lowson (Coburg, 24)
Marcus Lentini (Coburg, 20)
Lochie Dickson (Coburg, 25)
Ryan Hebron (Werribee, 22)
Bior Malual (Werribee, 23)
Jack Henderson (Werribee, 20)
Jake Riccardi (Werribee, 20)
Anthony Scott (Footscray, 24)
Reuben William (Footscray, 21)
Tom O’Sullivan (Port Melbourne, 21)
Callum Searle (Port Melbourne, 20)
Harvey Hooper (Port Melbourne, 21)
Jackson McLachlan (Geelong, 21)
Aaron Heppell (Essendon, 24)
Daniel Robinson (North Melbourne, 24)

SANFL: https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/sanfl-matureage-afl-draft-prospects-for-2019-include-luke-partington-cole-gerloff-and-more/news-story/fffeb22f2c68f1e45ded17ad7e134037

The latter lists Liam McBean (Glenelg, 24, forward) as a "proven performer".

My son played against Jake Riccardi for St Pats Ballarat including the Herald Sun Shield GF 2 years ago.

Thought he looked a class above that level back then and would be all for picking him up.  From memory didn't play a lot of TAC Cup but more school footy.

From that list I'd take Riccard and rookie Hibberd & Lentini..,,didn't realise Lowson was 24 thought he was only 20-21... :shh

Heppell's dud brother clearly only getting a mention due to the name..... :shh  :shh

Any chance of posting the SANFL & WAFL lists from behind Uncle Rupert's Paywall? :shh :shh :shh

Didn't Port Melbourne end up runners up, you'd expect them to have some talent there to raid.

Riccardi, Hibberd, Lowson in that order....doubt we'll take one though unless we draft Riccardi... :shh
