A decade ago it would of been quite unanimous that the great man Matthew Richardson was everyone's favorite modern day Tiger.
Has that changed for you ?? Hypothetically if you had to put a number on the back of your favorite tiger jumper - what would it be.
-
Cotch for his leadership. Been a brilliant captain.
-
Richo? I'm still on Dick Clay.
-
Richo is king.
-
Royce Hart for me.

Richo? I'm still on Dick Clay.
Yeah me too although it’s not quite as hard as clay. Maybe another flag will do it :lol

The Cho
Without doubt
-
Martin - will be mentioned in the same breath as Carey, Matthews, Franklin, Lockett & the Abletts /thread :shh

Richo
Forever and always
Kept the club alive during the dark years for a lot of fans, especially kids....:shh
-
First there was Jim Jess, then Brendan Gale, Then Richo, Then Rance now Jack Graham
-
As far as legacies go; Richo's is far more immense than just about any other tiger I can think of.
When we were at our absolute worst on and off the field he gave us a reason to cheer. He embodied so much of how we felt about ourselves. I'd even go on to say he was the personification of the club as a whole.
Kept people turning up week in and week out.
Yep, Dusty, Rance and co are perhaps better footballers who will leave with superior resumes. But that's off the back of an incredible support team of players/coaching staff and others.
Richo forever!

Those of us who went through the dark decades will always love Richo but for Tiger supporting kids these days Dusty is No.1. Richo hasn't played in over a decade. Anyone under 18 would hardly remember him playing and it's a sad fact that most people rate those from premiership periods higher than those who play in unsuccessful teams. It's a shame Richo couldn't have won the Brownlow in 2008. He deserved the highest personal award after carrying the hopes of the club on-field and bringing people through the gate to watch him during those crap years.
-
Better players on the list now - Jack, Dusty, Rance etc.
But Richo will always be my childhood hero and the reason I supported the tigers throughout my childhood.
I met him twice as an adult, both times when I was nursing his parents (dad several times, mum once). He was asking me what was wrong with his mum one day etc and I just went blank and could hardly talk haha. Made a twit of myself. Was star struck by my hero :D

All the stuff written about Richo is 100% right and he was my favourite Tiger growing up but for me the player who has changed this club the most IMO is Jack Riewoldt.
And for me that makes him my number 1 Tiger.
The joy I felt in ‘17 and ‘19 after the grand finals, I will never forget and I personally think he was one of the main reasons why we have become a great club again.
The way he has transformed himself into the player he is now has been incredible.
He is the sort of player/leader that can influence others to want to be better.

In time, the legend of Dusty will grow and probably surpass the great Royce Hart if we can jag another flag.
He’s our Lethal
-
Dusty is probably one flag away from immortality. Another grand final win with a big performance against a Collingwood will seal the deal.
-
Wayne Carey has Dusty ahead of Richo.
Carey has Dusty 15th and Richo 18th in his top 20 players he has seen.
15. DUSTIN MARTIN
The second current-day player to feature, 'Dusty' could well be in the top-five by the end of his career. Great on both sides of his body, we all know how influential Martin can be up forward or in the middle. Right now, he's the biggest star in our game and he handles that pressure with ease. An absolute gun, albeit in an era where the best mids get less attention.
18. MATTHEW RICHARDSON
He had a running ability that made him a nightmare to match-up on and loved to roam from full-forward to centre half-forward and late in his career made him successful on a wing. Despite being in what was often a fairly average Richmond team, 'Richo' still kicked 800 goals. Who knows how much higher that tally would have been in a more dominant Tiger outfit.
