Cotchin will be Richmond’s captain again this year – despite not formally being announced for 2020 – but is open to handing over the captaincy while still playing.
“Absolutely. I see it as a responsibility. I am humbled to be a leader and there could be one of ten guys standing here doing what I do. It’s why it makes my job easier.”

With Jack & Sheds older than Cotch I'm guessing Floss is next in line.

I would suggest the same though Lynch, Prestia, Caddy and even Grimes may all come into contention. Lynch has already been a captain, Grimes is a strong on field leader and Dusty leadership skills have grown exponentially recently (though I think he would turn it down regardless). We have a lot of on field leadership across every line now days and that's testament to our culture and to Cotchin's inclusive leadership

Some are suggesting Jack Graham would be a candidate. Seems like he can do no wrong. 😁

I'm incredibly lucky and grateful for the support I receive as captain, but there are so many guys that are of a similar age or a little bit younger that have great attributes and could easily be in my role. There are some really good young guys as well. I actually couldn't tell you who the next captain would be, there are a number of guys that could well and truly do the job. I'll have a few more greys, then I'm done." - Trent Cotchin.
