The financial impact from pandemics ect can hurt clubs. Its why I don't support our club closing its gaming operations under any circumstances. Clubs have been railroaded by anti gaming forces to sell out, big mistake!
Richmond should be looking to increase there gaming exposure now, buying into pubs with large gaming venues. Gamblers will gamble the money will still come in. Richmond should be looking to at least quadruple the number of venues we operate and some pub operators could be looking to exit. I bet Hawthorn and Carlton and Essendon just to name three would be thinking the same.
-
The clubs who sold out, they will regret it badly. If this season stays a closed door season, all clubs will lose millions. The money they got from selling out will have disappeared in 1 year, and then they will continue on with no gaming revenue or money from the sale. Richmond should be looking to buy now. To go from about 90 gaming machines to 400 maybe 500 machines spread over 4 venues. This will bring in the money and ensure our club survives and prospers into the future.
-
Gaming machines are a great way to spread coronavirus too. :banghead
-
gamblers will gamble and corona virus will be defeated as a vaccine is developed. do you want our club going out of business if sponsors start wanting there money back because there is no football? or if memberships have to be refunded. Gaming is good for clubs and the clubs who stay in he industry will have major competitive advantage against rivals.
This is also a good time to buy because the media focus is elsewhere and pubs could be going cheap.

Oh my god, grad your helmets people, the sky is falling :lol :lol
-
all you anti gambling do gooders are the same imbeciles raiding the supermarkets for dunny paper. gaming is good for clubs. Richmond should be more heavily exposed to gaming. 400-500 machines minimum.

Good for clubs but not so good for those with a gambling addiction.
-
Those with an addiction to gambling should just stop gambling. Go cold turkey. Why should clubs suffer because 5% of the population cant control themselves.
-
It's the addicts that make the pokies profitable.
:cheers
-
that's ok everyone uses their money differently. gaming is good for clubs.
-
The NRL clubs have Leagues clubs with pokies and that's not preventing a major threat to their existence if the NRL is shutdown. People won't be allowed to attend "non-essential" places like pubs and clubs.
-
Thanks to some very wise heads the club has been diversifying its income stream with the fitness centres. Ignoring the Coronavirus the eventual plan would be to have this and other income streams replace the income from the pokies over time.
Problem we have right now is that the self distancing will most likely see a drop in income from the gym income as well as the main football income.
Still would expect we are better placed than some of the other clubs to overcome this year if it turns out to a big hit to income

Poor analogy Ramps, pathetic actually
I'm no do gooder but happy for the Club to exit pokies.
And no I haven't been "raiding" the supermarkets for tiolet paper >:(. Been disgusted with the panic buying, no need for it
-
Ok. It was a poor analogy. Anyway can someone exp lain why its asians always at the centre of these fights in tge supermarkets. They are a disgrace, first baby powder and vitamins now dunny paper. Its the asians who seem to lack control. Just a disgrace.

From what i've seen it's all groups carrying on, Ramps. One big mob swarming over each other to get as much bread, pasta, meat, toilet rolls ... as soon as it's put out. People being the shopping police. It's nuts out there.
