With the new fixture and one win already under our belt, how many games do you think we will win after the first 5 rounds?
R1 vs Carlton @ MCG ............ W
R2 vs Collingwood @ MCG
R3 vs Hawthorn @MCG
R4 vs St Kilda @ Marvel
R5 vs West Coast @ Metricon.
ABC broadcaster Ben Cameron has us being 5-zip :pray.

Pros... Plenty of primetime exposure will keep the sponsors happy with three Thursday night encounters in this first block of games, plus Maddie’s Match in Round 4... an ‘away’ game at the MCG is always nice... you’d have to suggest playing West Coast in Queensland is easier than playing them in Perth, so that's a big win.
Cons... Of course even better than playing West Coast in Queensland would have been playing them in Victoria... short-ish turnaround between Round 4 v the Saints and that Round 5 meeting with the Eagles... in a shortened season you want to start well, and the Pies, Hawks and Eagles are all dangerous early opponents.
David King: Richmond are a great side. They’ve got Collingwood to start us up again, which will be fantastic, then Hawthorn, St Kilda then that five-day travel to Metricon to play the West Coast, so they’re the ones I’m fascinated by. Five days, Metricon’s the longer flight – we’re not talking about just jumping up to Sydney. How will Richmond attack it? Do we rest a couple the week prior? Do we set everything for West Coast? Do we not play some players against West Coast because we don’t want to take the risk of playing them on the same day? That’s where we’ll start to get some answers on five-day breaks and what travel same day does.

Can't complain. We are capable of winning all of them at our best. Better off getting an away game against the Eagles on the Gold Coast. Given we only play each side once we avoid that trip to Perth during the H/A season. The key with a shorter season is not to get behind the ledger as it's too hard to make up. So as long as we are 3-2 or better after 5 rounds then we will be in a good position to pace our build up and peak when it matters heading into finals.
