Title: Going to Queensland to watch the Tigers live in round 5?
Post by: one-eyed on June 17, 2020, 05:19:18 PM
Queensland to welcome up to 2000 fans at sports stadiums from Saturday.

Will this include interstate travelling fans or only locally-based Queenslanders?

the report I read off SEN or Fox Footy (can't remember which)

Said this week the break up is

1,250 seats from Lions Members

50 for Eagle fans

100 to the general public

Didn't say where the other 400 go

And it was SEN

How can the AFL allow such a biased allotment?

Ch 7 said it's only for locals as the Queensland border is still shut.

How can the AFL allow such a biased allotment?
It's Brisbane's home game.

The border being closed would be the main issue

They should at least offer 50 % public tickets and if brissy fans fill that up fine.

Brisbane (rightly) are looking after their members

I'd expect every club to do the same, that is ensure members get in first

How does anyone think they will allocate? I was already paid at RFC and only yesterday i paid up our familys afl memberships?

if you go by what Port did it was only top members only, not smaller memberships IIRC.

Interesting. Frankie

Going by what I read...on Twitter by Koch

I took it that it was a ballot of all membership categories and Adelaide did the same with their allocation

My personal view is that it should be ballot of all members, how much you pay should not give your preferential treatment. I know some folks won't agree with that but to me it is the fairest way

Bottom line is they won't please everyone, someone will sook no matter which way it is done

well i think it might, but im not sure its fair. eg. some are doing it tough as a result of covid so downgraded their membership for one year so they get penalised.

Ballot is 100% fair.

Not sure how the afl will do it but it may be the same and not sure how it can differ if its via ticketek
