Players electing to bump has been the flavour of the weekend, with Essendon’s Dylan Shiel and St Kilda’s Ben Long likely to receive bans for high hits from Saturday’s matches.

While Isaac Heeney continued to play after Pickett’s bump, if Michael Christian elects to make a statement over the weekend, the 28-year-old could receive a fine or even a one-match ban.

If Christian grades the incident as Careless Conduct, Low Impact, High Contact, Pickett would receive a fine.

Bloke when down like a sack of horse crap, had a look at the umpire and got up again.

They will look at it but he should be safe based on he didn't make contact with Henney's head

All of these types of incidents gets looked at now

The one by Long of the Saints is bad, really bad

Pickett copped a fine as did Short.

Gee I hope the club pays it for him. Wife 3 kids and half pay for a rookie.

Exactly. Heeney had time to scrub a kick or handball but instead went for a Brownlow inboard pass when he knew he was on a collision course with Pickett. Heeney and the AFL should be sending a letter of thanks to Pickett for not wiping him out.

I remember Danny Southern saying he was fined once and he never paid it. It just somehow got paid by someone else. Maybe someone else will fortuitously step in this time too.
