Round 18
Adelaide vs RICHMOND
Saturday, 19th September @ Adelaide Oval.
Start time: 4.40pm ACST (5:10pm AEST).
-
Adelaide midfielder Ben Keays said he had added tagging to his “arsenal” this season and would relish the challenge of taking on Dustin Martin in a game the Crows would have to win, and hope North gets smashed by West Coast, to jump off the bottom of the ladder.

I didn't hear who it was but someone from the Crows on SEN yesterday arvo also said they would love nothing better than "upsetting Richmond's apple cart" and knocking us out of the top 4.
-
Yep got to be switched on we broke that club there a basket case.
-
Pffft
They want pick 1.
Get the points and look to the QF.

2020 AFL season: Round 18 preview
Adelaide Crows vs Richmond
While the Tigers are widely expected to win, the Crows have won their last three games to give themselves a chance to avoid the wooden spoon.
In recent weeks, Matthew Nicks’ men have beaten Hawthorn, the Giants and Carlton to join North on three wins for the season, and could yet finish in 17th place should North Melbourne upset West Coast on Thursday night.
Otherwise, the Crows would have to thrash Richmond by a large margin – and that too is dependent on how much the Roos lose to the Eagles by – to avoid the embarrassment of finishing last in their 30th AFL season.
Realistically though, the Tigers will be looking to wrap up third place, with the expectation that they’ll be fourth on game day as the Eagles will start favourites to beat the Roos.
A win would then see them either ‘stay home’ and face Brisbane in a qualifying final, which would be a repeat of the corresponding final last year, or face another trip to the Oval to face Port Adelaide, to whom they lost by 21 points in Round 11.
Last week, the Tigers produced a strong defensive effort to restrict Geelong to only one goal in the first three-quarters, eventually winning by 26 points to retain their place in the top four.
Meantime, the Crows produced their best first-half of the season, thrashing Carlton into submission and eventually winning by 16 points to reignite interest in the battle for the wooden spoon.
While the men from West Lakes would love to finish their season on a high, and potentially hand the wooden spoon to the Kangaroos, it would be wise not to predict against the Tigers.
Prediction: Richmond by 14 points.

Get the 4 points that's all.Have to come out switched on as there confident of late so put the game on our terms.Solid 4 quarters.
-
Exactly Georgie. The Crows have jumped out of the blocks to big leads in the first half of their 3 wins before tailing off in the second halves to win by 3-4 goals. We need to get on top early. If we don't give them a sniff by the second half then the Crows players will start thinking of the off-season and not risking a last game of the season injury.

We've been inefficient going in F50. Gone inside 16 times and the Crow defenders have marked it 11 times. Need to lower the eyes or at least contest and bring it to ground if we are bombing it.

-
Solid win
That's about it really
-
The return of Edwards. :clapping
Clearances, scoring involvements, goal assists and poise.
What an awesome addition. He’s like a new recruit!
-
Happy with tonight. We always do well when we finish 3rd.
-
A couple of positives.
Nine goal kickers.
And Adelaide oval doesn't scare us.
-
All that mattered tonight was getting the 4 points and locking in top4 and not picking up any injuries. Wasn’t close to our best performance but got the job done.
Shedda didn’t miss a beat! If we have lynch, Prestia and bolts back for the QF then look out!

Good question

couldnt believe what I was hearing! Talk about unprofessional
-
Pickett only getting the ball 8 times is a real worry. Never been a high disposal winner. We need ro upgrade if we can. His lucky he is still in the team in my opinion. I wouls rather keep Ross in the team and have Prestia replace pickett instead.
-
Gee I enjoyed the ruck battle. Nank lifted in the second half after being beaten early by O'Brien. Its always great to watch two old fashion rucks do battle!

He did lift second half was very good.
-
Beaten in the first half is an understatement. O'Brien was BOG by a mile.

AFL Report Card: Round 18
September 22, 2020
by Ben Waterworth, Max Laughton, Matt Balmer and David Zita
FOX SPORTS
RICHMOND
It wasn’t their best performance nor their worst. But the Tigers’ 44-point win over Adelaide was still a solid pre-finals tune-up. After an arm-wrestle in the first quarter, the Tigers kicked away in the second half with seven goals to two to help them secure a top-four finish for the fourth consecutive season.
In the votes
Richmond, D … Martin, three votes. The Tigers superstar was at his ominous best on Saturday night, finishing with 28 disposals, 16 contested possessions, six inside 50s, six score involvements and over 490m gained. But just as importantly, Shane Edwards slotted back into the team with aplomb on his way to 18 disposals, a kicking efficiency of 91 per cent and eight clearances, as did David Astbury on his way to 14 disposals and five intercept marks. Kane Lambert (18 disposals) and Jack Riewoldt (two goals) also made key contributions.
Room for improvement
Even though it’s not their greatest strength, coach Damien Hardwick wouldn’t have been too pleased to see his side lose the contested possession count by -5. Besides that, not too many holes to pick in that Richmond performance.
