Title: Richmond's era will finish tonight when they are eliminated: Barrett
Post by: one-eyed on October 16, 2020, 01:45:43 PM
Damian Barrett in his Sliding Doors column today:

Richmond

IF ... I'm going to say something this week that has the potential to leave egg on the face ...

THEN ... it's this: the Tigers will be eliminated on Friday night, the era's finished.

Haters got to hate  :wallywink.

Win or lose tonight is irrelevant to the duration of our "era" especially in this unique covid season. Even ignoring that, losing the 2018 Prelim didn't end our era ::). Geelong lost the 2010 Prelim badly plus Ablett departed for the Suns but the Cats came back the following year to win their third flag in five years.

The vast majority of our list will still be in their prime for the next couple of years barring serious injury.

All the pressure is on Port tonight. Blow it and there's no guarantees they will be back challenging next year in a 'normal' season when they won't get a run of home games in a row while most other sides are playing outside of their home state for the whole year.  Funny how Barrett and Cornes have been so silent about that this year  ::).

Nah he was saying that you were likely to get egg on your face if you think that us losing this game would be the end of our era.
