With the new year upon us and all 18 clubs getting stuck into the thick of pre-season, it’s time to remind ourselves who are the front-runners in each position across the league.
Here is our list of the top 10 defenders in the league heading the 2021 season.
4. Dylan Grimes
The Tigers’ main man in defence had another stand-out year for the club as they made it three flags from four attempts. The key defender was pivotal at key moments for Richmond, and did a good job quashing out attacks with his impressive overhead marking ability. Grimes averaged 1.8 tackles per game, 6.8 pressure acts and 0.9 score launches as well as picking up an A.A. nomination as well as finishing 7th in the Tigers B&F.

Their top 3 are:
1. Harris Andrews
2. Darcy Moore
3. Steven May
Just my opinion of course but numbers 2 & 3 :huh3 :facepalm
As for the other 6?
You can all be the judge

Grimes is clearly 2nd best and Flossy should be 4th behind Moore. The fact he is not in the top 10 is a stuffen joke.
-
May.... :lol
In a side that missed finals?
Better than Grimes?
:lol
-
May and even Andrews :banghead.
-
Steven May is poo.
Our defenders criminally underrated outside but we know which is all that matters. Floss is a superstar.
-
How did Sam 'have a sook and punch the wall' Collins make the top 10? The article is obviously written by a halfwit
-
Grimes down at 4 is laughable. He is a modern great.
Even Balta would be ahead of most of that top 10 on output last year.
-
May
Collins
Say no more. Dud article.

They think grimes is 4th and don’t rate Vlastuin yet wonder why the tigers have taken out 3 of the last 4 premierships.....
