Can Naish play? Seeing as he only got 5 mins last night.
-
Can Naish play? Seeing as he only got 5 mins last night.
Correction: They just said Naish is playing.
-
Good transition from defence starting with Biggie. Stack on the run from 45 misses.
1 - 0
Dow a bit dazed after the tackle. Doctor going out to assess him.
-
Dumbness by Chol turns it over in defence but a desperate spoil and combo of Miller & Eggy saves the day.
We get it forward on the rebound - Ralphsmith to Ryan 50 out to Street on an angle 40 out. But Street kicks it OOTF.
Werribee goes coast to coast for a goal.
1 - 6
-
Ben Miller has developed very well in the twos. Keep on list as a natural Astbury replacement.
-
We're playing terribly. We're getting smashed in the contest and and when we do get our hands on it we're turning it over forward of centre.
1 - 8
-
Ben Miller has developed very well in the twos. Keep on list as a natural Astbury replacement.
He has been good so far. One of the few that has turned up to play.
-
We look absolutely shocking. Can't hit a target and pressure is not there.
Where's Caddy??
-
Will Marytns decision making is a worry
-
Werribee should be 5 goals up already. Lucky for us they are missing their set shots.
1 - 11
-
Going to be a very long day.
We haven't got enough experience out there
-
Disappointing start. Where is our midfield?
-
We're non-competitive so far :help.
1 - 17
-
Our half backs have kicked out on the full 4 times this quarter. 23-1 now.
No forward pressure, coming straight back out.
-
That McDonagh is stuffing useless.... :facepalm
-
This is heading for a 100 point loss :help.
1 - 29
-
Switching off now. Worst I've seen this team play for years. Not worth watching and no one coming into this team next week that's for sure
-
No Ross & RCD and we're getting smashed in the contests. No one in our midfield can win the footy.
1 - 35
-
Quarter time
Richmond 0.1-1
Werribee 5.5-35
Pathetic!
Non-competitive.
Bruise-free footy.
Dysfunctional.
Don't look like scoring :help.
-
OMG we actually scored :snidegrin. Chol set shot goal.
Cumberland's courage on the wing set that up. Hope he is okay.
Rich 1.1-7
Werr 5.8-38
-
DES long inside 50 and CCJ takes a strong contested mark 30 out directly in front. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 2.1-13
Werr 5.8-38
Comeback on ;D.
-
Samson Ryan's past two weeks have been dreadful. Going one-handed for marks is a no-no.
14 - 38
-
MRJ dances around the 50 and goes long to the goalsquare where Cumberland makes up for dropping a sitter by taking a ripper against 3 Werribee defenders. Goal! :gotigers
Rich 3.2-20
Werr 5.8-38
-
Grrr! Stack can't handle the ball for the centre clearance and then there were 3 mistackles by us which allowed Werribee to get it forward and goal.
20 - 44
-
can’t find the link ...
help :pray
-
Terrible defending. More mistackles :banghead.
20 - 50
After working hard to control the ball in our forward half for 15 minutes and get us back in the game, we cough up two soft goals :banghead.
-
can’t find the link ...
help :pray
It's on 7plus, torch.
-
Cumberland goal :gotigers.
Rich 4.2-26
Werr 7.8-50
-
We actually won the quarter :o.
Half-time
Richmond 0.1 4.2-26
Werribee 5.5 7.8-50
Goals: Cumberland 2, Coleman-Jones, Chol.
-
The difference that quarter was we showed effort and intensity and started winning contests.
Eggy our best so far across HB.
No Caddy out there today by the way.
-
can’t find the link ...
help :pray

MRJ thrown in the middle to start the 3rd qtr.
-
Naish shanks the kick inside 50 but it works and CCJ marks 45 out. Gives back to Naish on the run but he misses.
27 - 50
-
Deliberate against Werribee 15m out. Cumberland however hits the wrong side of the ball.
We get it back and Ralphsmith smartly centres it to Street 25 out. Goal :gotigers.
Rich 5.3-33
Werr 7.8-50
-
Well we're peppering. McDonagh misses.
34 - 50
-
Geez we give up soft goals. Biggie and another defender completely miss the ball and a Werribee forward marks fourth in line at the back of the pack :banghead.
34 - 57
-
Thought we were coming back so turned the broadcast back on. They then kick 3 goals and we stink it up again
-
And we give up another quickly :scream. Sums up the game since 1/4 time. We work hard for our goals but give up multiple goals just when we get back into the game.
34 - 63
-
DES, Chol, Miller unsighted. Our defence is woeful.
-
Caddy on annual leave again?
-
Werribee starting to win the contests and are kicking away again.
34 - 70
-
DES, Chol, Miller unsighted. Our defence is woeful.
Can't blame the backline when there's no pressure upfield from the midfield.
-
That passage sums up how poor (shot OOTF) and dumb (allow the rebound out the back) we've been.
34 - 79
-
Geez our VFL-listers have been substandard. That's two shots in a row that have missed everything :help.
-
It's groundhog day this qtr. Our kick-ins keep going to the same side where we turn it over going down the line yet we keep doing it :huh3.
34 - 80
-
3/4 time
Richmond 0.1 4.2 5.4-34
Werribee 5.5 7.8 11.14-80
Goals: Cumberland 2, Coleman-Jones, Chol, Street.
Same story as the first qtr. Looked threatening for the first 5 mins and then fell away badly again :P.
-
Geez we've been crap. A total lack of connection between defence, midfield & forward lines :help.
34 - 99
-
Sack the coach....this is stuffen embarrassing
-
Embarrassing :help.
35 - 105
-
OMG we actually found and hit a target inside F50.
Ralphsmith to Stack for a goal.
Rich 6.5-41
Werr 15.16-106
Campbell Brown just said Stack has been our best.
-
An ordinary day for MRJ (has had plenty of mates though too). Just kicked into the man on the mark and Werribee get a goal from it :facepalm.
41 - 112
-
Keystone cops stuff. Spoiling each other and costing us a certain goal :facepalm.
-
Final score
Richmond 0.1 4.2 5.4 6.7-43
Werribee 5.5 7.8 11.14 18.16-124
Goals: Cumberland 2, Coleman-Jones, Chol, Stack, Street.
Hammered by 81 pts by a team that was winless coming into the game. Pathetic and disgraceful display!
-
Heads need to roll. That was stuffen woeful
-
Martyn- barely looks VFL level :shh
CCJ - yeah we'll take that Tom Green deal thanks GWS :shh
Naish - turnover merchant :shh
VFL listed players are horrid...throwback to 2016. :shh
Can't wait until Stack & MRJ get fit.... :shh
-
Who is our vfl coach?
-
Bit of perspective alot of our good vfl players have left the program and with a tighten budget on spending was always going to happen.
-
Who is our vfl coach?
Xavier Clarke
-
Glad I was up at Tallangatta today and missed it ;D
-
Any player worth a positive mention,
-
Not really
-
Thought Stack was really good, very physical and clean in possession, don't think he is that far away from a recall.
-
Does anyone know what Mate Collina is up to. Is he going to play this year or is it all about just learning the game.
Also feel as though Sampson Ryan is being a little bit wasted up forward and would like to see him in the ruck a bit more.
-
Any player worth a positive mention,
Stack was easily BOG for us.
MRJ, Dow, Ralphmullet & Biggie all showed glimpses but not really when it mattered...Cumberland had about a 5 minute burst where he lit it up - showcased a few AFL attributes and kicked a brace...again it was too little, too late but promising considering it was his first hit out for over a year and first competitive match since 2019 after a severe injury ..... :shh
Chol was Chol....a couple of nice things in between a whole lot of nothing...and was woeful in the ruck... :shh
Samson & CCJ were shyte - but their roles should've been reversed... :shh
Commentators said Goog was our best (but they also said Stack was) but I thogght he was ordinary....got a fair bit of ball but nothing with it..wasn't as squibbish as usual but only in so far as he was more like a slab of Fairy instead a tub of Dairy Soft.... :shh
Martyn's on a fast train to Delistville.... :shh
-
Thanks for the updates

Richmond succumb to Werribee in battle of the Tigers
By Brenton Mann
Richmond Media
2 May 2021
A hint of Spring in Autumn and a road trip to Avalon Airport Oval is what welcomed Richmond on Saturday afternoon for Round 3 of the VFL season.
The clash of the Tigers went the way of Werribee, as the hosts saluted to the tune of 86 points.
Richmond went goalless in the first quarter and showed pluck and fight in the second as the whiff of a comeback was in the warm May air, however that was quickly snuffed out by the seasoned Tigers of Werribee.
The scoreboard read 18.16 (124) to 6.7 (43) at the final siren.
Richmond officially unveiled two VFL debutants with Thomson Dow and Bigoa Nyuon suiting up in the Yellow & Black for the first time at the level.
The latter started strongly, taking three intercept marks in the opening 10 minutes and showing poise and a clear mind as the deepest key back.
Dow stood beside Sydney Stack and Will Martyn in the midfield and was industrious and tranquil with ball in hand.
Stack enjoyed his time through the midfield, showcasing his grunt and class both with and without the ball as well as his unflinching courage in the air.
Werribee hacked a desperate high ball to clear it’s defensive 50 and as the ball hovered, Stack’s eyes never deviated as he drifted back with the flight and clutched the mark.
Richmond went without a major in the opening term as the home side piled on five unanswered goals equating to a 34-point lead at the first change.
The message was simple at quarter-time, reset and win the contested ball.
The Tigers showed some venom from the opening bounce of the second quarter, cracking in at every contest and using the ball with control and purpose.
Whilst Stack’s mark was the highlight of the opening term, that was matched, if not bettered by Noah Cumberland’s plucky grab on the goal line in the second quarter.
After back-to-back goals to Mabior Chol and Callum Coleman-Jones, Cumberland made his mark literally with two defenders hanging off him, he clung to the canary yellow Sherrin as he coasted across the goal face.
Cumberland slotted his first goal for the Tigers and ignited his team.
Werribee hit back with two majors of its own before Cumberland slotted his second.
The dynamic forward displayed his power by foot as he blasted through a set-shot from beyond the arc that was like a trace missile that split the middle.
Richmond cut the margin back to 24 points by the main break and went into half-time with belief that was continuing to bubble.
The Tigers started the third term in the right fashion as Hugo Ralphsmith skated onto a loose ball inside 50, tracked the boundary line and squared it to Lachie Street in the corridor.
Street kicked the goal and Richmond looked primed to further eat into the deficit.
Werribee then got their tails up and slammed on four unanswered goals, extending its lead to 46 points by the final break.
Richmond started to slip in the contested ball and Werribee was slick with ball in hand and damaging inside 50.
The more experienced Werribee side sweated on the Tigers’ turnovers and then cashed in on the scoreboard.
Keen to celebrate the 100th game of favourite son, Michael Sodomaco and also secure Michael Barlow’s first win as senior coach, the hosts put the foot down with a seven-goal final term.
Hugo Ralphsmith and Sydney Stack teamed superbly, leading to Richmond's sole goal of the last quarter.
The Tigers’ ball movement was stop-start for most of the day, however when Ralphsmith found space at half-back and clear grass in the corridor he put the jets on and scorched through the heart of Chirnside Park.
The explosive wingman then drove the ball deep inside 50 to the advantage of Stack who was one-out with his opponent and took the mark uncontested.
Stack then laconically nailed the set-shot, finishing off the great work of his teammate.
Richmond will look to learn plenty from the encounter and rest up over the upcoming bye and attack Round 5 against GWS fresh and firing.
WERR 5.5 7.8 11.14 18.16 (124)
RICH 0.1 4.2 5.4 6.7 (43)
Goal Kickers:
Richmond: Cumberland (2), Street (1), Coleman-Jones (1), Stack (1), Chol (1)

Is stack playing the small forward role? If so another couple of bog’s surely he’s in line to come in for any of the 3 currently in the seniors.
-
Anyone know why Caddy didn’t play?
-
Sulking.... :shh

Richmond VFL playing coach, Steve Morris, provides a summary of how the Tigers’ players performed in last Saturday's Round 3 loss to Werribee:
Derek Eggmolesse-Smith (27 disposals, nine marks, 11 rebound-50s)
"Derek found a lot of the ball again and continues to be a key part of our ball movement out of the back half. He's in good form."
Patrick Naish (19 disposals, seven marks, six rebound-50s)
"Covered a lot of ground on the weekend and acquitted himself well despite an interrupted preparation. He's playing some good footy."
Hugo Ralphsmith (19 disposals, seven inside-50s, two rebound-50s)
"His ability to break lines has been a real feature and his aerobic capacity continues to allow him to get back to help us in defence. He's displayed an ability to play multiple roles."
Will Martyn (17 disposals, three clearances, six marks)
"Had a big task in the weekend against an experienced, mature midfield and continued to battle away inside."
Sydney Stack (16 disposals, four marks, four tackles, one goal)
"It's good to see Sydney get some continuity. He looks dynamic when in the middle of the ground and he continues to build his match fitness to enable him to have an even greater impact."
Thomson Dow (14 disposals, two inside-50s)
"It's great to Thomson back after missing a fair bit of footy. It was a tough initiation but he’ll be improved by the hitout."
Callum Coleman-Jones (13 disposals, seven marks, one goal)
"Callum continues to have a big impact in the air. His hands have been a real highlight and he continued that good form on the weekend."
Ben Miller (13 disposals, three rebound-50s, three marks)
"He fought hard on a tough day for the backs and his one-on-one work was pretty good. Ben is also taking good strides with his leadership down back."
Maurice Rioli Jr (13 disposals, nine tackles, three inside-50s)
"His speed and willingness to chase and tackle were very evident, as demonstrated by his nine tackles. He’s starting to find more of the footy. The next step will be to hit the scoreboard with more regularity, but he’s showing great signs at an early stage in his development."
Bigoa Nyuon (10 disposals, six marks)
"It was good to have him back in the side. He plays his best footy when he’s physical and there were signs of this on the weekend, but his consistency of concentration and physicality will see his game elevate to the next level."
Noah Cumberland (two goals, nine disposals, three marks)
"Noah's commitment to the contest can’t be questioned. His overhead mark in the square was a highlight. Great to see him hit the scoreboard with an increase in game time after a long layoff."
Mabior Chol (six disposals, five tackles, one goal)
"He’s been in great form this season but didn't reach his full potential on Saturday. He’s been up for a long time so the bye will do him well and we look forward to him bouncing back with a strong performance after the bye."
Samson Ryan (four disposals, three marks)
"It was a very tough day for our talls with lots of Werribee numbers behind the footy, but Samson will look to improve on that effort after the break."

Samson Ryan (four disposals, three marks)
"It was a very tough day for our talls with lots of Werribee numbers behind the footy, but Samson will look to improve on that effort after the break."
The VFL report equivalent of a massive bake.... :shh
