Title: Richmond is 3rd worst for scoring differential from kick-ins (Foxsports)

With help from Champion Data, we dive into the stats behind kick-ins in this week’s Champion Index.

...

Richmond, led by Jayden Short’s poor differential of -56, is a worrying 16th.

The most glaring point in these kick out stats is that only two sides in the league are in the positive!  Ultra-defensive chippers like Geelong will work the ball up the ground with scores of uncontested marks (while boring us to death with sideways & backwards kicks), but teams who roll the dice & try to create will lose possession more often.
Also, several players share the kick outs.  Houli would kick out more often than Short, then Balta was getting a fair share too.
And yes, umpire intervention in these possession chains from a kick out would significantly skew the results ....    ::)
